Krater plays decently, and all the right ingredients are here. But it feels like the chef messed up in the kitchen, and combined them into a dish that may be worth eating, but is hard to recommend.

Dead Block is decent if somewhat cheap entertainment, but it's hard to recommend given the dozens of other and better zombie games that are out there.

Sadly, Thief is an experience best summed up as “uneven”. It’s charismatic, gorgeous and well-designed, but for every thing it gets rights, there are another two that go wrong, such as the bad dialogue, the unstable framerate, the lack of a jump button and the all too linear campaign. These issues keep pulling the player out of what could otherwise have been a very immersive experience.

A shameless rip-off and almost outright copy of Mario Kart, but also one whose shortcomings makes it abundantly clear why Nintendo rules the genre. There are better kart racers on iOS, most notably Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, but this is still worth a few spins.

Unless you’re really, really into brawler games and have a few like-minded friends on hand, you can safely take a pass on this year’s second Summer of Arcade title. Despite novel graphics and a silly story, it feels kinda bland.

It's a fine demonstration of Kinect's abilities, but it lacks longevity. It's fun, but compared to the other Summer of Arcade games its decidedly thin. We're not sure it's worth the price tag when the handheld versions are that much cheaper.

Most shoot em ups these days rely on a gimmick, and Zeit2 has a clever one: time travel. By rewinding the game a few seconds, you are essentially able to play co-op with yourself. The shooting is a bit lackluster, though, and Zeit2 often feels more like puzzle game, where you have to use the rewind function just right to beat the oncoming wave of enemies. May be interesting to hardcore Shmup-fans, but more casual players of the genre can skip it.

A game that really tries to be like the LEGO games but with Marvel characters, but doesn't succeed entirely. Playing on your own is rather boring, but the co-op mode improves the experience immensely, even if the game is a bit short. Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Guantlet is a far cry from games like LEGO Indiana Jones or LEGO Harry Potter, but there's still fun to be had here. Worth picking up on a bargain.

For those of us who have already played a lot of these kinds of mini games, it feels like reheated roast. We already know it'll be great tasting, but we're being asked to eat a different utensil to make it more fun.

It's far from a disaster, but it's not really the challenger to Mario Kart 7 that we were hoping for.

Escape Plan is an interesting project with certain problems. If you can get past those, it presents an atypical story and a gripping experience, but it's one that requires you to be in a certain mindset to enjoy.

A decent take on handheld hack'n'slash entertainment, but we can't help but feel that Gameloft were in too much of a rush with this one.

A little too easy and loose to really deliver the goods. With all the other solid brawlers on offer, it's difficult to see The Simpsons as anything but an innocent waste of time.

I Am Alive has its strengths, and is certainly entertaining when you're climbing alone on the side of a toppled skyscraper, but the generic and repetitive combat drags down the overall experience.

Pineapple Smash Crew is an enjoyable action game that is more than a little reminiscent of the Amiga days. Sadly, it stumbles by not offering enough diversity in its mission structure. And that's a shame, as the game is otherwise a refreshing, accessible and most of all fun experience, but one that lacks longevity.

Sonic Free Riders can be fun under the right circumstances, and kids will probably enjoy it, but it's mostly just another irrelevant speed bump on Sonic's journeys throughout the world.

It is worth taking a trip to Salem. You might not be blown away by the mechanics or length of the game, but you will get a good story with interesting characters and some fun ideas. Recommended if you want a good thriller with tons of atmosphere in game form.

Heroes of Ruin wants to do a lot more than the 3DS will let it at this point, and it's a shame the game didn't have more willing hardware to work with, because it has plenty of ideas and good intentions.

If you've gathered up a bunch of friends and you're all staring mindlessly at a Kinect-equipped flatscreen, you'll easily be able to squeeze out a few hours of fun and laughs with Hole in the Wall. But not much more than that.

Snoop Dogg returns as Snoop Lion in a rhythm game that borrows heavily from the Nintendo classic Elite Beat Agents. Campy story, well known Snoop-hits, cool animations and a decent rhythm game makes for a few fun hours. After that you will probably not return to the game.

If you are crazy about the tour, then Le Tour de France 2013 - 100th Edition is a decent take on the cycling sport. Unfortunately the mechanics of the game aren’t very well explained, and even if it is fun at times managing your resources, it never fulfills its potential.
