When everything is trying to reinvent itself in the forms of a remakes and reboots, Serious Sam 4 stays true to franchise's identity, which still feels great, even by today standards.

A solid remake, that simultaneously stays true to the original game, but also gives it a fresh coat of paint. Some much-needed changes are made to both the narrative and to the gameplay, even if not all of them will sit right with the core fans. Mafia: Definitive Edition is a great way to experience one of the best games in its genre in a completely new light.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a really strange case, but in a good way. It's outstandingly beautiful, engrossing the player with a great narrative, telling a story about love, friendship and giant mechs. But the overall structure of the game often exists in an unpleasant dissonance, and it's hard to ignore that the tactical battles can't provide any real gameplay challenge. If you can live with all of that, you should defensively try Vanillaware's newest project. If only for the chance to unravel the intriguing mystery of a talking cat.

Shadows of New York is an unremarkable story that tries to hold your attention with relevant themes, but ultimately fails into abyss of triteness and weak presentation. If you crave some good vampire story, just read an Anne Rice novel, instead of wasting your time with this game.

If only Square Enix dropped subpar English dubbing and instead focused their efforts on more polished visuals and multiplayer modes, the game could have been a perfect remake.

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show shows some really stylish visual and great characters designs, but sadly the game is far from polished state, which is disappointing, given that it's not an early access release.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is an amazing retrospective that shows us the first few steps that the series took going into three-demensional space. Even in this original form the trilogy easily stands tall among most modern games with it's timeless game design. All we can do now is just appreciate this masterpieces and celebrate Mario's anniversary together.

Wasteland 3 is in no way a bad or a mediocre game. You can clearly see the passion that went into it's development. You will spend hours upon hours with dozens of well thought out non-linear quests, while interacting with easy to use and well made role-playing systems, all of which gives you true old-school gaming experience. But at the same time Wasteland 3 just can't offer anything we haven't seen before, and myriad of countless technical hiccups is definitely not something we expected to see.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is the game we've been waiting for from Square Enix for so long. Atmospheric, interesting and exciting all your attention modern jRPG with an interesting story and spectacular battles. To achieve the ideal, the project only needs more even graphics and all the content from the original release. If you were waiting for a turn-based classic with new graphics you will most likely be disappointed, since the game has changed a lot. Everyone else is happy with the release of the first really powerful single-player release from the internal Square Enix studio for many years. Especially after the failure of Final Fantasy XV.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is an attempt to earn fast money in a problematic period for the industry, when most of the planet's inhabitants are hiding in their homes and apartments. You can finish the story campaign in just five hours, and there is no multiplayer. In addition, in Russia and Ukraine, the developers managed to spoil the story due to the removal of a mission critical to the plot, which, along with the average graphics and other problems of the project, is disappointing. The original MW2 deserves the same respect as the first Modern Warfare game.

In this season Infinity Ward shows really exemplary support for Modern Warfare 2019, interest in multiplayer does not fall and the game surprises with a variety of activities and content. There is really nothing to find fault with. Call of Duty: Warzone was definitely a success, especially considering free access for any player.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition combines perfectly with the Nintendo Switch portable mode, allowing you to play the game slowly on the road or before going to bed. This is an interesting and atmospheric project for fans of turn-based RPGs, but the absence of any striking features in the visual design and the sterile plot cause a sense of secondariness.

Good Job! is a stylish and insanely fun puzzle game that sometimes feels like a simple project for mobile phones, desperately trying to reach the level of consoles. The game does not have any entry threshold, you will learn almost all the gameplay mechanics in just a couple of minutes and will be able to have fun alone or with friends.

Sakura Wars has its drawbacks, and it is not only a weak combat system with forced battles in the championship, but also some templating, the length of some elements and spoilers-announcements between episodes. But all this is offset by deeply developed characters, beautiful animation and good humor. It is one of the best games of the genre in the last few years and the best that could happen to the series.

Gears Tactics is an exciting game with incredibly beautiful graphics, interesting missions and well-developed mechanics, which could have been better if the authors of the game paid more attention to the story. Anyway we have a great project for fans of the genre, regardless of their loyalty to the Gears of War franchise.

Bloodroots is a good game with different finishes and links in the use of items, but it clearly lacks development, and the bright mechanics and blood are too quickly exhausted. And unlike My Friend Pedro or Hotline Miami, there is no feeling of excitement and pleasure from the just-tested combat combination. This is probably the main reason for frustration.

Neon City Riders is a modern reinterpretation of the classic The Legend of Zelda with its own features and unusual setting. The high level of difficulty and challenging situations along with a strong emphasis on exploration can scare most players, but this is one of the most notable projects in its genre, especially if you are the lucky owner of the Nintendo Switch.

SnowRunner is an exemplary sequel in which the variety of content has increased several times compared to the previous game. There are a lot of new features, and the scale, content and number of maps have increased significantly. But most importantly, the gameplay has become more interesting. Setting up infrastructure in atmospheric locations is more exciting than just hauling logs. At the same time, the deep physical model is still as detailed as before, which will please hardcore fans of the genre. So if you are one of them, then it is definitely worth playing.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is difficult to advise even the most loyal fans of the franchise. The game is not worth your time, even if it will be distributed on a PS Plus subscription or sold at a huge discount. It is almost impossible to get pleasure here. Terrible graphics, unbalanced gameplay, poorly developed mechanics and broken matchmaking leave only a deep sense of frustration.

Streets of Rage 4 is a worthy continuation of the beloved series that has preserved the atmosphere and drive of its predecessors. The developers managed not only to play on the nostalgia of fans, but also to make a modern game that cannot be accused of being too archaic. The project is undoubtedly a must-buy for fans of the genre and all those who appreciate easy-to-learn, but addictive games.

Ion Fury for Xbox One X is an example of worthy endeavors implemented through the bottom. Murder by Numbers is a unique project with really addictive puzzles, but sometimes it seems that the story is too long, and references to pop cultural phenomena will not be clear to most of the Russian audience. However, interesting tasks and charming characters will make you return to this game regularly. After all, such a satisfying dish simply requires small portions and several approaches.

HyperParasite is a good concept that is broken down by a low level of product testing. The inability to save the game as you progress through the stages and repeatedly return to the very beginning with the same boss irritates. Local co-op and minor problems with management spoil in theory an interesting project that you can try, but only if you are a fan of the genre, and all the other games have already finished.

Xenoblade Chronicles is still one of the best games of the genre, which 10 years later continues to delight and surprise with a unique world, luxurious epic landscapes, an incredible sense of freedom, beautiful music and a really interesting story. Of course, it is a pity that the Definitive Edition has a technical limitation in terms of resolution, which does not allow the image to really shine in 2020, but otherwise it is a chic project that every fan of the genre of adventure and Japanese role-playing games should play.
