A niche title that certain gamers are sure to love, Outbound is an enjoyable exploration title that can often become too relaxing at times.

Everything works with Grit and Valor -1949, but the repetitive nature of the concept makes it a bit of a slog for long playthroughs.

Masochistic newcomers and experienced point-and-clickers will undoubtedly enjoy the return of Simon the Sorcerer Origins and Simon’s banter, but those without experience will suffer without hints and a multitude of detailed notes.

Bing in Wonderland: Power-Up Edition is a fast-paced action title that is brief but can feel repetitive and bland in the fights and music loop.

Dystoria is a great love letter to retro videogames and sci-fi movies from the 1980s. Its six-axis controls are easy to learn yet hard to master, while it’s physics-bending levels are a great way to reinvigorate a classic puzzler.

Park Beyond is a spectacle to behold with some great ideas, but the glitter and lights don’t quite hide the shaky foundations that desperately need some repairs.

With great atmosphere, and a great translation of its simple mechanics into a desperate frenzy by the player, the late game becomes too nit-picky, allowing little space for improvisation, and turning out a bit boring.

Steel Century Groove has fun mech dance battles, but the story and non-battle sections leave a lot to be desired and feel fairly bland.

Vostok Inc. is enjoyable more for its concept than execution, as it was quite clever to fuse a twin-stick shooter with an idling game. For those who have already beaten their fair share of clicker games, there isn’t enough reason to play this one until the endgame.

A rather solid game, good gameplay which kept me on my toes and thinking at all times. Alright gunfights that were often over rather quickly and occasionally featured twitching AI whom I wasn’t sure if they were still alive or not and good use of a low-budget and his own skills. I predict great things for this developer as long as he doesn’t get greedy! Much better than their previous game! Well done Polygon Art!

If you’re a fan of the series then you can’t go wrong, but it’s not the strongest game in the franchise with its plain bad battle system, regardless of how charming and beautiful it is.

There’s a few hours to be whittled away in Drake Hollow. And can be a good blast with a friend or two, as it helps to mitigate the constant need to return to base, allowing for an explorer to do their thing, a builder to do theirs, and a battler their own. Unfortunately as a solo experience, it erred more toward frustration because of the timed mechanics.

Fearmonium is an entertaining game with an appealing art style and a unique story. There were issues with controls, and I felt lost trying to figure out where to go next.

Overall, Franchise Hockey Manager 3 is important as one of the only hockey simulation games available, especially on computers where EA has foolishly forsaken the PC crowd of sports games for years on end with the absence of Madden and NHL games. However, this is a very specific game for fans of the sport, and it is not very fun at being a game, actually.

Despite its shortcomings, SteamWorld Build is a delightful foray into the world of robot cowboys, and there’s a bit of fun to be had with the building and dungeon crawling, even if the tinge of innovation is a little muted.

On a whole, RAID: World War II feels exactly like what you’d expect from a Payday clone. It takes less of a political approach than other games featuring Nazis such as Wolfenstein or the upcoming Call of Duty: WW2, and instead moves away from the war is hell narrative to opt for a more hyper-violent, stylised approach to the subject matter. While the choice of game engine severely lets itself down, there is still much to appreciate if you enjoy other co-operative shooters of its type.

Good fun crashing simulator that will keep you coming back to improve your score, but not because of the depth of what's available. Here's hoping this is a prerequisite to a fully fledged game from the Three Fields team.

9 Years of Shadows is a great game that fans of Metroidvanias will definitely love; it’s just the problems with the game crashing and freezing that make me have to score the game lower than it really deserves.

A fun, but simplified take on the turn-based strategy genre, think "baby's first XCOM" and you're on the right lines. Its flaws are obvious but easily overlooked for newcomers to the genre. If you're a die-hard strategy fan, consider giving Narcos: Rise of the Cartels a pass, it won't have much to offer you.

The big thing to take away from WWE 2K16 is that not much has changed, yet again. The roster is a lot bigger, and features that were missing last time do return, but this game being back in line with your 2014 release isn’t something we should be thankful for. The fighting, which was slated last year anyway, only seems to have been limited yet again, but not to a devastating degree - it just still isn’t good enough.

Hard to recommend for non-fans, but if you’ve read the manga or watched the anime, you’ll want to experience this. If you can get past the control scheme, that is.
