Overall, it may be a pain to have to collect each type of brick that you want to use, but you’ll learn things. I do like this game, and I’m not big on open sandboxes. Or, perhaps I like it because of that.

An unpolished, but ultimately charming and engaging take on H. P. Lovecraft's most famous creation. A must for psychological horror fans.

If you can look past the little annoyances like grinding and the frame rate, then Warrior Orochi 4, coupled with fun gameplay and pretty looking environments, makes for a rather welcome instalment into the franchise.

House Builder is like building Ikea furniture: it can be a fun experience, but all you’re doing is following the instructions.

A charming title with a breathtakingly good interface, Endless Space 2 is a clear improvement over its predecessor.

A competent collection of ports that does the bare minimum to bring the series to modern systems. The games themselves are still fantastic action classics but it’s a shame all versions couldn’t be included.

While there is a lot to enjoy, it’s hard to argue that the story it’s adapting is doing a lot more of the heavy lifting, encouraging people to play more to see what’s next for Sung, rather than the repetitive gameplay.

Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just a smutty knock off of House of the Dead – this one has solid gameplay, an enthralling narrative and enough content to last you at least until your loved ones get home.

Zoeti is a unique twist on the traditional card battle game that feels more like battle poker. The music can get a bit repetitive along with the recycled character images but is still a fun time.

Withering Rooms feels like a fresh take on the roguelike genre. A clunky combat system and a story that doesn’t quite draw players in aside, this is still an enjoyable game and a good first attempt for the developer.

Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator is a very good simulator of what it’s like to be a professional chef, while also making it fun to play.

Saint Maker is certainly more tragedy than horror, and it shows. While it is well-made, I think players will enjoy the story more than the actual gameplay.

There is nothing bad about this casual sidescroller but there is nothing to get overly excited about. A solid game that is worth picking up with friends or possibly on your own.

Warriors All Stars does a fair job of being more than just a tie-in, and brings some genuine innovation to the table. If you ignore the trope-filled storyline and strange setting, it functions as a great stop-gap before the larger release of Dynasty Warriors 9 or as a meaty hack ‘n’ slash to get into in short bursts.

Hogwarts Legacy is a must-have for fans, and worth a buy for everyone else if they’re interested. It does have its shortcomings, but its stellar gameplay and world allows it to stand on its own.

An excellent campaign diminished by the intrusion of the game’s multiplayer elements. Some peculiar bugs and sloppy proof-reading can pull you out of the experience but enjoyable combat and an excellent take on some Marvel staples make for an overall fun but grindy core gameplay loop.

A toy box sprawled out onto the floor of game development, Tux and Fanny is a brilliant mini-game parlour, with a satisfying narrative to match when it isn’t too busy trying to be a stoner-inspired stream of consciousness.

Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon is an immersive and dark fantasy adventure with great characters and ambience. Though it has issues with stability, it’s definitely worth a look for anyone interested in the genre or Arthurian myth.

Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is a great-looking 2D platformer that feels just like a Castlevania game. With entertaining characters, and the ability to swap the main characters on the fly. Can get repetitive seeing the same enemies constantly respawning and lack of animated story, it is a solid title overall.
