Weighing in at over 100 hours of gameplay, Persona 5 is one that you will want to spend time with. Brilliant voice work, a decent translation and solid gameplay mechanics make this one of the best RPGs I’ve played in a long time.

Black Myth: Wukong may look like another soulslike on the surface, but in truth, it is a fantastic action RPG with great boss battles, memorable characters, and my favourite mechanic of the year so far, Transformations. You can be a rock with legs!

Genesis Alpha One is a game that I love coming back to for both short and long bursts. It’s got an absolute ton of replayability with some really interesting designs and mechanics to boot.

Guns, gore and demons. The classic DOOM is back and it's better than ever. With a glorious and immensely satisfying single player experience, DOOM is one of the best shooters of year. Shame it can't be said about the multiplayer, but at least with the addition of intuitive SnapMap you can create your very own Hell.

A frantic, fun roguelike that perfectly encapsulates what makes the genre so great, without taking itself too seriously. A brilliant debut title, and an easy recommendation!

SCHiM uses shadows in delightfully creative ways, turning ordinary objects into astoundingly helpful tools. This wholesome, vibrant 3D platformer offers an adventure that shouldn’t be missed.

He Fucked The Girl Out of Me is a raw and emotional experience dealing with trauma and scars. While it is not exactly pleasant, the message is one worth hearing. I recommend playing it yourself, but please note the content warnings.

Extremely Powerful Capybaras is a great roguelike bullet-hell game with cute characters and a fun battle system. The lack of tutorials and some bugs hinder it.

With a refreshing twist on stealth gameplay, EVOTINCTION is a genuinely impressive title that fans of the genre shouldn’t pass up.

MainFrames is, simply, a lovely retro-themed puzzle platformer with humour, challenge, and some brain-straining mechanics to master. While not easy, the satisfying controls and charming world will make it hard to put down.

Jaws made it scary to go into the water; this makes it seem all tranquil and comfy. A game absolutely worth playing if you love collecting or just want to relax.

This will change how a lot of us play the game, but there’s always the Wild format if you aren’t ready to let go of any of your cards. With a new set of nicely designed cards and a noticeable improvement in the artwork, this is a great addition to the Hearthstone Stable.

Simple mechanics leave room for a deep, emotional story and interesting characters.

A refreshing simulator that lets you do what is advertised which is easy to play but hard to master. Pay attention to what you’re doing and you’ll be the number one brewer in town.

A great mix of a platformer, RPG and monster catching game Monster Sanctuary has so much depth and content to keep you busy for a long time. Feels like a great RPG from the 16-bit era, a ton of cool monsters to hatch, to aid you on your quest.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a great game for anyone who loves JRPGs or wants to check out Chrono Cross for the first time, or again. The updated graphics and battle mechanics make this worth the lower price tag.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is for fans of turn-based RPGs. It’s challenging, has great heroes, and a deep story. It will pull you in.

Another solid entry into the F1 franchise for Codemasters. It’s nice to see them expanding the game to represent how drivers work their way up into the F1 roster from the F2 feeder series. Being able to build your driver up from (an albeit short) F2 career really lends credence to the story of your driver making their way up through the ranks.

A relaxing game, a brilliant remake, and if you like farming games you’ll be happy as a pig in mud.

Kingdom of Night is a suspenseful game that looks and sounds great, with a creepy story that makes you want to solve the mystery of this town.

Mini Tank Mayhem is a compelling tower-defence deck-building game that is full of excitement and suspense. There is so much to unlock, and I can’t wait to play more!

Trackmania Turbo is a gem of a title that incorporates tight and responsive gameplay with longevity and replayability. You can spend a long time trying to attain all the gold medals, but it will be worth it.

Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to meet the hype strongly with an enjoyable cast, an engrossing story, and unique turn- and card-based gameplay to mix it up a bit. If not for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, this would easily be the best Marvel game.

While not an essential addition, this DLC offers extra context that offers a similar emotional tale to that of the base game. Even at only an hour or so, it’s as beautiful as the mainline entry and has a few more challenges and stages that will interest fans.

LIVE A LIVE is a gorgeous 2D-HD experience that combines modern with classic pixel visuals. With multiple chapters to select featuring their own story and characters, along with a variety of genres, there is so much here to keep you busy, this is a must-play RPG.
