A perfect continuation of what Bugbear has done previously with the Flatout series. They may no longer hold the license to that IP, but they definitely still have the spirit of it. This is a perfect blend of customisation and carnage, with something for everyone. I can’t recommend it enough, and it deserves to be just as popular as the games that came before it.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn takes the weighty feel of a Soulslike and adds mechanics that allow constant flexibility and experimentation. It also engagingly tells an interesting narrative without breaking the flow of the gameplay.

Criminal Past is a great finale for Mankind Divided, and only makes the desire for more Deus Ex stronger. The ending is pretty open, and with faces new and old it does a great job of giving us something different while being faithful to the franchise.

With an addictive, fully-featured multiplayer suite, one of the finest campaigns the franchise has seen in years, and a fresh, revitalised Zombies mode, Call of Duty: WWII is an absolute blast that boldly goes where no modern Call of Duty has gone before: back to its World War roots. And it’s about bloody time.

In summary, Viscerafest is a carnage-fun experience and I enjoyed every second of it, though some of the in-game graphics could do with a polish, it can’t be overlooked for its gameplay mechanics and absolute blast of a journey. To my surprise, the main protagonist has become one of my favourites. Retro shooter fans should definitely pick this one up!

A great adaptation of the Samurai Jack cartoon, full of hack and slash action, cool weapons and a beautiful art style. Featuring an original story, even fans of the show never saw.

Moonglow Bay is a fun and relaxing game that I found very rewarding to play, there’s a huge variety of things to do in this game so I never get tired of it. Every day I play I can’t wait to go back and see what monster-sized fish I manage to catch and see what kind of new dishes I get to create in the kitchen.

I definitely recommend getting Retro Rewind: Video Store Simulator. While it doesn’t have a lot, it’s a fun, nostalgic game that doesn’t mind being simpler than its contemporaries.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is an extremely solid and polished remaster of the most unusual mainline entry. If you’ve never played FFXII this is the best way to give it a go and if you are a veteran, having the changes from the previously Japan only IZJS version give you another reason to revisit Ivalice.

Playground have managed to extract the awesomeness stored in the collective hive-mind of every “big-kid” out there that wants to be able to play with their Hot Wheels sets without strange glances from onlookers. It’s a fun outing for the series as a whole and something I hope to see more of down the line.

The most subversive twist in first-person shooter mechanics, on a par with its minimalistic and powerful visual style, SUPERHOT does not disappoint. Even though the story can be a bit too obtuse at times, the way the game plays out wrap it all up quite nicely, commenting on why we choose first-person shooters so often.
