We thought that Crash Bnadicoot would never be the same iconic character he once was: we were wrong. This fourth episode brings back every foundation of the series, twisting it with the brand new quantum masks mechanics, to deliver a strong, rich, colorful and demanding entry to the series. Rooted in the late 90's, Crash just need to discard its old precision issues to compete with the big ones of the beloved platform genre.

Gone home is a beautiful story told with talent. The total immersion and storytelling brings a sense of renewal in the world of video games. Unfortunately, its lifespan is too short: two hours are enough to see the end. This console port is, by the way, excellent.

428: Shibuya Scramble is clearly a game worthy of its Japanese reputation. Spike Chunsoft's Visual Novel tells a riveting story and makes a really clever use of its multiple bad endings system. The game gives you a tour of the real Shibuya and introduces you to a cast of characters that grows on you very fast. It grows on you so much in fact, that once the game ends, you're sad that you'll never see them again.

Level-5 was right to take its sweet time. Almost eight years after the original game, Ni no Kuni II is as strong as its predecessor. Beautiful, varied, well paced and well written, the game almost ticks all the boxes of the J-RPG we all expect, even though it might be a little too classical and clean to surprise the core fans of the genre.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is one of the greatest TRPGs of all time and this modernized version offered with Tactics Ogre Reborn gives western players the opportunity to discover or rediscover it in optimal conditions, with a subtly improved gameplay system, superb orchestral music or the choice of full dubbing, in Japanese or English.

It's rather clear: Fallout New Vegas is everything Fallout 3 should have been. Well, in terms of freedom and storyline that is, since from a technical side, it's as disappointing as ever. All we can do is pray and hope for their colleagues id Software to lend Bethesda a decent engine - Obsidian couldn't do miracles with what Bethesda's coders gave them, and sometimes it even ruins some nice gameplay ideas like their crafting system. But in the same manner everyone overlooked the flaws of Fallout 1 & 2 because their creators were storytelling geniuses, Obsidian's work on New Vegas is good enough to make us forget about all the lesser details - except maybe the overall lack of challenge.

With Anno 117: Pax Romana, Ubisoft Mainz proves it is possible to evolve a beloved formula without losing its identity. The move to Antiquity is more than a new setting. It reshapes building, trade, resource hierarchy, cultural balance and even city planning thanks to diagonal roads and more uneven terrain. It is not as disruptive as Anno 1800 was at the time, but it improves several essential systems. Flexible needs make each run smoother. The Roman and Celtic coexistence gives regions a stronger personality. The huge research tree adds long-term strategic depth. The visual direction is stunning and brings a rare elegance to the whole experience. Some parts still need work, such as land battles or certain UI details, but these limits never overshadow the core experience. Anno 117 remains a rich and captivating city-builder. It is more than a simple return to the past. It stands as a solid and promising new chapter for one of the strongest management series of the last decades.

Two Point Museum succeeds in captivating players with its original setting, full of humor and creativity. Thanks to a management system that is both rich and accessible, engaging expeditions, and a wacky atmosphere, the game offers an experience that is as strategic as it is entertaining. Watching your museum grow, adapt to visitors' demands, and fill up with quirky artifacts is a real pleasure. However, a few small flaws slightly tarnish the experience, such as annoying bugs and a decoration system that feels less impactful than expected. Nothing game-breaking, but some adjustments could further enhance the experience. Despite these minor issues, Two Point Museum remains a delightful surprise for management game fans. With its engaging gameplay, constant humor, and extensive customization options, it promises countless hours of fun. If you enjoy building, optimizing, and laughing at the same time, this game definitely deserves your attention.

On a modern computer, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition looks absolutely stunning, thanks to new visual options - more frames per second, adjustable FOV... There are some technical flaws, but it doesn't prevent from enjoying Aloy's Adventure and its magnificent post-apocalyptic open world, even if it feels a bit redundant and not that refreshing in terms of stage work and dialogues.

SoE had a clear goal in mind with Planetside 2: the same game with prettier graphics and more accessibility. In both regards, it's a success. The massive war atmosphere is there. Let's hope that it will evolve in order to trump a possible weariness of the basic war mechanics with new stuff and a storytelling element that writer Marv Wolfman could contribute.

Technically impressive, Guilty Gear Xrd baffles a bit with its design. The roster only presents 14 characters and most of them don't have the wildness of precedent episodes. Nonetheless, thanks to its deep gameplay and perfect online services, it stands as a very good VS Fighting candidate.

Ubisoft and Capybara Games deliver an almost spotless work with this HD downloadable version of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. The franchise is well respected, and the gameplay both original and solid. With attractive visuals, a long lifespan, nice multiplayer features and an very affordable price, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is a very nice game to acquire for those who look for something to download that's different from the usual shooters and action games.

Beyond Good & Evil HD could undoubtedly have gone to further lengths in modernizing this cult title, with reworked textures and 3D models, but its qualities remain as effective as ever. A title full of variety, dense and accessible, combining all sorts of game mechanics for an adventure with a unique atmosphere.

To glide from sunup to sundown. Here's the simple, but attractive pitch of Tiny Wings, rising star of the App Store who kicked off Angry Birds from the number one slot of the charts. Its principle is ridiculously simple: press the screen, and your bird will gain momentum. As soon as you let go, it glides. But you'll have to time your presses well with the random hills of the backgrounds in order to go as fast and as far as you can, and to score as much points as possible. But even though those hills are never the same thanks to their randomized generation, it's still becoming repetitive sooner or later; which is the main shortcoming of the game. With some added features, play modes and ideas, it could have been far more magical.

Even though there are some mistakes here and there (let's say it's youth related), F1 2010 probably remains one of the best F1 racing games ever. It's reminiscent of the old Formula One on the original PlayStation, and even better, of the legendary F1 '97. But a thousand times more comprehensive and realistic. Its career mode grants it an enormous playtime expectancy, and racing over the internet or against the clock is a delight best served with long evenings to fully enjoy it. Well, that's it : F1 2010... what else ?

Visually varied and original, its stages are combining the talents of different couples made of a musician and a graphic artist, and its a delight to discover and play their contribution level after level. Plus, the community tools for level creation will take over once you're done with the campaign.

Gears 5 is both a very generous and welcoming game. Building on what made the Gears franchise a power house, The Coalition changed the campaign's structure, added useful features to Horde mode, created a fun new coop mode and made the game more accessible for people with disabilities and new players. And it doesn't hurt that the game is really pretty (especially on the Xbox One X) Gears 5 is only being dragged down a bit by a couple technical issues that shouldn't be seen in AAA first party games.

The benchmark of boxing games on consoles is setting the bar once more thanks to EA Canada's talent. They didn't transform the franchise completely, proposing instead an even more realistic rendering and a very alluring accessibility. Maybe some hardcore simulation-craving gamers would find some things to argue about (like some shortcomings in terms of gameplay precision, a lack of realism on some specific moves) but it would be a shame not to play this new reference of virtual boxing.

One of the funniest, and best game of 2020 on Switch, and a perfect hole in one.

Would it have made more sense to truly re-make each episode to have them on par with other PS3 productions? The question remains. That being said, the transition to HD and 3D and the addition of the dodge mechanic on the right analog stick will be enough for the fans, or those who didn't have the opportunity to play the PSP originals. If you're among those who actually did, you can ignore this release. Let's take note, as well, that the technical gap between Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta is pretty obvious, this last one being by far the better port of the two.

Dark Souls Remastered is the best version for Dark Souls on consoles, and it's still one of the best action-RPG of all time. The 60fps framerate is a real pleasure, as the other technical improvements too. We would have preferred a real remake, but it's still a very good way to (re)discover the series.
