It's very well designed and it can help those without programming skills with their first steps in this world. It also does its job with very well implemented touch controls, but it will not be a significant challenge to players who already have programming skills and its 38 levels might feel too short.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth picks up on the legacy of The Binding of Isaac and improves on the original on its technical and content fronts to create a varied, interesting and challenging adventure game. Inspiration from the original Legend of Zelda is visible on Rebirth's level design but it won't just be Zelda fans who will appreciate this new chapter in the Binding of Isaac series. A new landmark in the growing sector of independent game designers.

A magnificent visual environment, a fitting soundtrack, very challenging races that are perfectly matched with the controllers and its multiplayer modes make FAST Racing Neo one of the best indie games on the Wii U and a compulsory option for fans of fast racing games.

Steamworld Heist is an involving, demanding and flawless strategy RPG which features a marvelous visual ambiance, a well balanced risk and reward system and a gameplay that will fit perfectly with the expectations of the fans of the genre.

Within the tower defence style, this game falls below expectations as far as contents are concerned and it even gives the impression that it was not fully completed by the time of release. Its interface is far from intuitive, its elements lack variety and it can be surprisingly difficult in many instances.

Johnny's Payday Panic may not be revolutionary in what it proposes but it does include a simple and fun gameplay systems which makes it an addictive and entertaining game for some quick and quirky moments.

Its low selling price makes up for not being the series' ultimate version and for the absence of some elements that were part of previous iterations of Toki Tori. Its appeal, however, will be mostly limited to fans of the genre.

The dialogues are full of humour and the character's animations are very well executed. Octodad mostly disappoints in its short length and players who feel put off by difficult controls will not appreciate its mechanics.

Suffering from technical gaps, imprecise controls and a predictable and clichéd plot, Rodea still manages to display an interesting concept and gives the player a degree of freedom that is unusual in similar titles. Pity that its qualities don’t weigh enough to redeem its flaws.

Its gameplay is marvelously addictive and it follows a well constructed plot that will keep players holding on to it for dozens of hours on end. A very recommended proposal for fans of the series and for newcomers who feel curious about it.

Unpretentious but quickly involving, Wizdom can quickly become more difficult if the player is not paying due attention but this doesn’t stand in the way of being a very amusing time-filler for short gaming sessions.

While its online component has lost some appeal and it does not offer significantly more content than its predecessor, the offline challenges and the musical catalogue have improved and in the end, it's a very entertaining and fun piece of gaming for groups.

Pumped BMX + is a simple but addictive game centered around the sport of BMX. Its shortcomings are its length and the potential lack of appeal for players who are not into cycling sports.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a worthy successor to the previous title in the series and one of the most ambitious games to be released in the Wii U so far. A monument of content, exploration and complexity, this is a technically staggering work with visually breathtaking landscapes and the potential to spend literally hundreds of hours in its main and secondary missions. A masterpiece of the JRPG genre which is more than certain to gain a place close to the hearts of many who will dedicate themselves to explore this world.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. brings forth a very interesting and fun crossover between two of Nintendo's most cherished series featuring some of its most appreciated characters. The two worlds come together in a very successful way, even if it's clear that the mechanics of the Mario & Luigi series are more predominant than those of the Paper Mario series. The amount of tutorials could be lower to make the experience more fluid and its plot is too predictable but this remains a fun and enticing title.

Nova 111 is an interesting and original strategy game that makes use of stunning visuals and a very precise gameplay mechanics. It could only gain from a more practical save feature that would reduce the amount of times players will be forced to repeat the same levels over and over.

New Style Boutique - Fashion Forward is very well designed to its target audience and it's perfectly accessible to pick up and play. Everything in this game is done fluidly and despite a certain level of repetition, the players bound to be allured by this New Style Boutique will find plenty of reasons to dedicate themselves to this experience of fashion management.

One might feel tempted to mistake Freedom Planet for a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog but that would be tremendously unfair for this work from GalaxyTrail. Its fun and precise gameplay mechanics, along with a wide amount of content and very original levels will bring hours of 2D fun which will resonate particularly well with 16-bit platforming enthusiasts. Were the mixture between action and platforming be more balanced and the boss fights less burdensome on the player and this would become an instant landmark of indie games.

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash brings the fun and entertaining gameplay that is expected from a title in the Mario Tennis series, along with a wide variety of characters and courts which will keep its players around the racquets for quite a while. It doesn't go beyond that, as it also leaves the impression that the game needs some additional work and the lack of game modes make its content feel rather empty.

The return of Guitar Hero is a very welcome renovation of the series. Guitar Hero Live and its new television-like mode are a great help to the feeling of immersion and the design of the new guitar are great additions to a formula which was getting saturated. While the multiplayer mode could be more ambitious, Guitar Hero Live is a very recommended title for fans of music games.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is quite simply the greatest conversion that could be done with Sega's magnificent platformer. The best Sonic game of all time lost none of its appeal during its journey to the 3DS and is still as delightful to play as it was over 20 years ago.

Life of Pixel does a fine job at recreating the nostalgic environments of videogaming from the 1980s and 1990s, with all the references in the rights places and the visual and sound aspects that go with the job. However, its level design suffers from imbalances when the experiences become too repetitive and the gameplay too shallow, which harms the overall feeling of insertion into a 1980s and 1990s gaming setting.

Starwhal is an unusual and overall unique game that fully reveals itself on multiplayer. Its original and amusing gameplay and very entertaining multiplayer experience make this an option that will surely satisfy those who invest on it. Pity that its single player experience is a shadow of its multiplayer component and there’s no online mode to make up for that.

1001 Spikes is a fun, varied and well-designed 2D platformer that makes use of old-school mechanics to impose a steep difficulty curve and a thousand and one obstacles that even experienced players will find challenging. A very welcome addition to the eShop’s library.

The new Chibi-Robo chapter is certainly not a triumphant return to its previous titles but that doesn’t mean Zip Lash does not have its charms. The use of the electrical cable and the collecting of snacks are welcome components and the outfits certainly extend the game’s replay value. It can, however, become repetitive quickly and lose some of its appeal, as its unambitious level design demonstrates.

Momonga Pinball Adventures offers something different and unique mechanics compared to other games of the kind. This adaptation of Year Walk to the Wii U is nothing short of excellent, as the control system and the interaction between the player and the game works perfectly. The atmosphere is extremely rich and diverse and the player is properly put into the right context thanks to the additional points provided by the game.
