Although several decades have passed since its debut on the market, Tactics Ogre continues to be one of the best exponents of the strategic genre and the new re-edition packaged by Square Enix has been able to greatly increase the smoothness of the experience. Although with some exceptions, the tricks made to the playful dough have been able to rejuvenate the title with an old-school flavor, making it palatable even in the eyes of the new generations. On the flip side, however, the technical sector does not defend itself as well. Our advice is therefore to use it on the small screen of the Nintendo Switch, which thanks to portability will be able to partially mask the age of a milestone like Tactics Ogre.

Valkyria Chronicles lands on PlayStation 4 with the same determination that it had eight years ago. The game is still brilliant, thanks to its intense story and a solid gameplay. This current-gen version won't have a top-notch look, but includes some interesting DLCs.

After dozens of hours among estates, aqueducts, and legions, Anno 117: Pax Romana has convinced us on one point: the Anno formula still works brilliantly. The decision to move the action to the heart of the Roman Empire isn't just an aesthetic gimmick, but a clever way to shift perspective without sacrificing what the series does best: the slow and thoughtful construction of economic equilibrium. The sandbox mode is, as always, the center of the experience and the place where the game shines, thanks to a hypnotic pace and excellent variety of situations. While some mechanics add more color than depth, the title is hard to criticize: less revolutionary than some had hoped, sure, but more refined and cohesive than we might have expected from such a dramatic leap in time. Pax Romana is the confirmation of a studio that understands its audience, respects players' time, and continues to improve its work methodically and consistently. Those seeking a deep and well-constructed management challenge, with the joy of building an empire brick by brick, will find fertile ground here. Those hoping for a revolution, however, will likely have to wait for the next iteration. But for now, the Senate can applaud.

Olliolli World is a promise kept. A game dedicated to skate that embraces every aspect of street culture in a perfect blend of Platform, Rythm Game and heart-pounding Arcade. The biggest news is in having finally discovered the third dimension, lighting that has led to a crazy level design in its intricate simplicity, the real keystone of a title that makes inclusion its watchword. One of the best titles on the market, perfect both for those who want to be obsessed with the execution of the perfect combo in each stage, and for those who need a "different" title to disconnect from the wear and tear (even videogame) of modern life.

Two Point Museum is a big step forward for Two Point Studios, which intertwines sharp and interesting RPG features in the management mechanics, with expeditions, resource management and objectives to complete to unlock new locations. A work of great finesse that with the constant exploration of the map will end up creating a game within the game, increasing the proposed content and allowing us to increase the hours of fun beyond measure. The only unwelcome note is having imitated the lootboxes in the recovery of relics, but it is a sin that we can overlook.

Shadow of Mordor is the utter proof that to build an engaging, deep and fun experience you don't have to innovate - not necessarily. There are small flaws, especially in the repetitiveness of the mission structure (especially in the second half) and in the open world maps, which are too empty even for Mordor. But that's not nearly enough to spoil the fun, and the Nemesis System is something every developer should look into (and probably will).

Due to its extreme complexity, SpaceChem will never be a title for everyone. Too deep and articulate for casual players, it will be appreciated only by those who are willing to engage themselves with the deep game mechanics Nevertheless Spece chem is no doubt one of the most brilliant puzzle game in the history of videogames.

Octopath Traveler 0 is a prequel that does its job: it reconstructs the origins of the saga and brings the world of Orsterra to the forefront, with its cities, characters, and unique mechanics. However, the port from mobile to home console reveals all the limitations of the original project: the city building remains superficial, the exploration of villages is repetitive, and the narrative, while initially fascinating, quickly descends into cliché. Where the game truly excels is in the battle system: deep, tactical, and rewarding, capable of keeping players glued to the game on its own. The HD-2D style remains convincing, but shows signs of a now-established and uninnovative approach. In short, Octopath Traveler 0 is a title recommended for fans of the series curious to discover the roots of the story, but those looking for something new or a more ambitious port risk being left halfway and finding themselves entangled in a series of repetitive mechanics.

Horizon Zero Dawn brings to PC a vibrant and unique world, excellently characterized and wonderful to observe. Aloy's adventure, net of some obvious imperfections and some aspects that have withstood the test of time, is still fascinating and extremely fun to play today. In short, Guerrilla's remains one of the most precious open-world titles in recent years, not only for the charm of the story and the setting, but also for dynamic, responsive, layered and engaging gameplay.
