Persona 3 Reload is undoubtedly the best way to recover the masterpiece made in Atlus. The excellent artistic direction, an excellent sound system and a greater depth of the protagonists of the story place this remake among the best exponents of the saga. The gameplay sequences set in Tartarus would have benefited from a few more creative twists capable of breaking up the repetitiveness, but in any case we are faced with an obligatory purchase for every lover of the Persona saga and for all fans of old-style JRPGs.

Netherrealm and WB Games pack a new Injustice, and it's more powerful, big and epic then ever. It would have been enough to follow the footsteps of great successes like the latest Mortal Kombat, but it's not like this: Injustice 2 is not a simple re-skin with the characters borrowed from the DC Universe, it's a brand that finally reaches its whole, it's dignity, and now is able to earn a first place in the world of Beat'em up for the general public.

The wind that blows from the island of Iki, at times, can be even more overwhelming than the one that crossed the horizons of Tsushima. Short but incisive, the expansion sets up an intimate narrative, which delves even deeper into the tormented meanders of Jin's soul: it succeeds, and convinces us. The new map and the timid additions to the gameplay do not exponentially increase the variety and quality of an experience that, as expected, remains conservative, with the same merits and the same stumbling blocks as the base game. If the lock on has a fluctuating implementation, which does not solve the problems of a camera that is far from flawless, it is the art direction (again!) And the use of DualSense that make the difference: a sign of how Ghost of Tsushima , also and above all in the Director's Cut, is an adventure that stands out mainly for its evocative visual flashiness. And now - thanks to the PS5 pad - also sensory.

The Witness might be an unforgiving experience, but also an unforgettable one. It's pure gameplay, and pure puzzle solving. Hermetic, sometimes even elusive, it won't please those interested in good storytelling, but will absolutely capture every puzzle solving fanatic out there, and will do so with its magnetic setting and clockwork gameplay.

Overall, therefore, the remasters of Nioh 1 and 2 boast a solid and satisfying performance profile, while not marking a clear step forward compared to the previous versions of the two titles, at least as regards the general performance of the graphics sector.

After more than 20 years Final Fantasy VII is back and powerful as the original version. Square Enix has decided to extend the story incorporating brand new sequences and a deepening of the plot with many more mature themes than the past. Unforgettable characters and a brand new, excellent combat system are the strengths of Final Fantasy VII Remake. An unmissable game both for old fans and new gamers.

Undead Nightmare completely revises the world of Red Dead redemption. The main quest is funny and really long, and the cooperative multiplayer is a totally new experience for players.

With a bit of extra care – or better, with less focus on everything that's not combat and simply more triumphant action – Astral Chain could have been even a bigger bang. As it is, it's a superb exclusive and one of the best games of 2019: not bad for a completely new IP, one that in more than a way truly is PlatinumGames's magnum opus.

While we find the policy of re-releases questionable, we must recognize that this time Atlus has shaped what will surely go down in history as the definitive version of Shin Megami Tensei V, a title that on Switch was too limited by the lack of hardware power. That said, while in the eyes of the players at their first rodeo Vengeance will appear as a tasty opportunity to recover a fascinating RPG which until now had been the exclusive prerogative of owners of the Nintendo console, the numerous adjustments made to the gaming component, the presence of a narrative path semi-unreleased, and last but not least an improved technical sector, may not be as attractive as to push even those who have already stepped into the shoes of the Nahobino to dive into the Beyond a second time.

Lizardcube succeeds in resurrecting the iconic Joe Musashi from the past, crafting a stylish and original video game that is also respectful of the roots of the Sega series: Art of Vengeance is a side-scrolling action game that rewards players who want to conclude each battle in the most spectacular way possible, offering a fast-paced and deep combat system that, unfortunately, isn't fully enhanced by the experience's decreasing difficulty curve. The title's artistic direction is nothing short of exceptional, offering a visual richness unmatched in both form and substance, with a simple level design that always offers something new with every change of setting. During the main campaign, the platforming sections proved to be merely a pacing mechanism, but those seeking a stimulating challenge will find plenty to enjoy in the optional Ankou Portal levels and in some secret areas that will test the reflexes of even the most demanding players.

In the same interview quoted at the beginning, Shigeru Miyamoto guaranteed: "The Pikmin teams are always busy with the next chapter". We hope that with this fourth episode, the Nintendo series will finally reach a large audience in Europe as well. Obviously, the genre it belongs to makes Pikmin an IP far from the commercial potential of other Kyoto giants, such as Mario or The Legend of Zelda, but for our part we can't wait to find out what Pikmin 5 will come up with.

Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent starting point for the Square Enix saga, which after several missteps seems to have found the right balance between the tradition of the franchise and a blatantly more mature new ethic. By focusing everything on a complex narrative and dedicating maniacal care to the construction of the world, Yoshida's dream team has however neglected the rhythm of the story, which in addition to reserving some less inspired moments, even slows down the growth of the character.
