Trials Evolution is basically the same core game as the previous one, but since I love that game I can look beyond that. Although, when it's time to develop a third game, I hope that RedLynx actually can evolve the game instead of just insert something meaningless in the title.

Tetris for the Nintendo 3DS may not win over players who didn't like the game in the first place, but old fans can look forward to plenty of fun modes, including an excellent online experience for up to six players.

The introduction of Move controllers should have been the best that has happened to this series, however I guess that we have to wait for PGA Tour 13 until it is perfected. It's still the best golf game out there to this date.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a well made platforming adventure that delivers exactly what we expected from all the trailers and previews. It's a fun experience for one or two players and is especially suitable for children. The Wii may lack a large amount of quality games, but as long as Nintendo keep providing solid platforming experiences like this one we'll keep the complaints to a minimum.

Baldur's Gate is still among the finest RPG's out there and this is truly an enhanced version of the original. It still has flaws but overall it is a big improvement and the developers has made the game available to a whole new generation of players.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an entertaining and well-made fighting game. The excellent option settings and the great controls make up for the somewhat meager content. Many competitors have more modes, but few manage to maintain the same quality as this game.

Bulletstorm is a solid shooter that turns back the dial about 15 years - to a time when ultraviolence, arcadey gameplay and outrageous scenarios were the staples of a shooter. But it still manages to feel fresh and on par with the higher quality shooters we've seen emerge since 1995, and kicks it up with a brilliant scoring system that keeps the gameplay varied.

Why fix what's not broken? Darksiders II brings more of the same pick and mix magic that made Darksiders a sleeper hit. The addition of a WoW-based loot-system and more sidequests gives the illusion that it's not just an DLC-upgrade with a new skin. The game is a bit buggy and some puzzles feels a bit lazy, otherwise this is a sequel for everyone who loved the original.

Thirteen steps forward, two steps back? Final Fantasy XIII-2 resolves most of the main problems that the first game had, while introducing a number of new ideas, of which a few feel underwhelming or completely out of place. The characters, visuals, story are engaging and the narrative better told. It will be a hard sell for skeptics of the first game, but for fans it's an essential play.

The new Mortal Kombat is easy to pick up and play, but will take a lifetime to master. Crushing bones and smashing skulls has never been so easy and beautiful as it is now.

The actual boxing is better than ever, but it's in the cinematic champion mode that Fight Night Champion really shines and possibly shows the way forward for other sportsgames as well. More of this, please.

Da Vincis disappearance is not only a very good DLC for its prize tag, but also a perfect ending after the original ending, so to speak. The single player story is of greater value than the multiplayer material, but the four characters and the new Protect Mode makes it worthwhile even if you don't care about Ezio's adventuring. They could have thrown in one or two more maps, though.

Despite a few bugs the game plays so intense it at times feels like it's playing in your mind and not on your screen. It will make you feel really badass one second, only to disgust you with its over-the-top violence in the next. A few strange design choices interrupt the flow but all in all, Hotline Miami is a special experience not to be missed.

By no means is Ni no Kuni a perfect match of Studio Ghibli’s design and character sensibilities and Level 5′s ability to craft deep and meaningful RPG systems, but it’s a close enough match that any flaws to either side are easily ignored. With as much charm, humor and as many quirks as can be packed onto a disc, Ni no Kuni will satisfy even the most disheartened and cynical role-playing fans and, possibly, people not into role-playing games at all.

DrinkBox Studios moves away from alien blobs and attempts to reinvigorate the classic MetroidVania concept, but with Luchadores, pop culture references and an immense amount of humor. With a insanely complex melee mechanic, well-crafted platforming and a clear understanding of the concept at hand, Guacamelee! manages to wrestle to the top of the food chain.

With a suitably complex and violent story, Sleeping Dogs is a competently told tale of revenge in a sandboxed approximation of Hong Kong. With gameplay mechanics more coherent and well-implemented than most other games in the sandbox crime-simulator genre, it delivers a solid experience. The story, acting and atmosphere really shine through, but even on purely technical terms the game manages to stand out.

A unique, refreshing puzzle game that should ideally be consumed in small doses to avoid overdosing, as the game can become a bit tedious if played excessively. The puzzle designs go from easy to fiendish at a good pace, so as to never quite overwhelm and constantly challenge expectations.

Sometimes it's very relaxing to just shut off the brain and perform some indecent acts of brutal shooting and hand-to-hand combat. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine delivers this experience in abundance. This is an enjoyable experience that falls a little flat due to pacing and repetitiveness, but for sheer brutal fun, it's hard to beat.

The Swapper is an expertly designed puzzle platform game that excels in every area. Although the story is a bit hidden away in log files, it’s well worth going through them to expand the experience. This indie game is rivaling the quality of many of the AAA titles this year so far.

Iron Galaxy Studios resurrects two of the most beautifully crafted 2D fighting games ever, and does so with grace. Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3 are still unforgiving and difficult to learn, but well worth the time investment. Solid netcode and lots of extras sets the bar high for HD conversions.

A truly beautiful puzzle game that soothes the mind and engages your imagination as well as your intellect. Perhaps not for the most dedicated puzzle enthusiasts but surely something that will leave most gamers smiling afterwards.

Spec Ops: The Line is one of the better shooters of 2012, and shouldn't be missed. With an interesting and well told story the game offers a journey through a horrible situation that shows how fast a civilized society can crumble under extreme circumstances.

Grid 2 will speak to fans of the original game, but it doesn’t really do anything brand new or different. But in the end, sometimes we don’t need a revolution, just something that’s bigger, faster and prettier.

Quarrel is a charming and challenging little wordgame for a very resonable price. It's cleverly designed and is a delight to play against friends over Xbox Live or in your living room.

NetherRealms uses their Mortal Kombat engine very well to create a game that doesn’t feel like a simple license job. There are lots of winks for the comic enthusiast with this great party fighter, but the seasoned fighter veterans may find it a bit shallow.

With a low price tag and well-designed content, it's hard not to recommend the Local Justice Map Pack to fans of Max Payne 3.

Fire Emblem: Awakening manages to be a game for both the die-hard fans of the series as well as a great introduction for new players. A couple of flaws in the story and presentation keeps it away from magnificence, but it’s still a worthy addition to any 3DS library.

A really good RPG that takes your inner pirate spirit for a ride. Despite a few graphical bugs this game is for sure a day one buy, and a vast improvement on the original.
