Mafia III has so many technical issues that it's really hard to ignore them. But the game is something you should try because of the way Hangar 13 has dealt with the racism issue. Everyone should play this game and learn the hard way how terrible racism can be.

Hue is a brilliant and fresh puzzle game that proves that the genre it’s still alive, even in the jungle of independent games. Well done Fiddlesticks!

Paper Mario Color Splash is a colorful, funny and entertaining game. Nintendo has changed a lot of things with this franchise. The episode on GameCube is still the best one, but with Color Splash a lot of people will be able to have fun enjoying a great game, without thinking about 4k and mid-gen consoles.

Mario Party Star Rush could be considered as a new start for the franchise, due to huge and deep changes in the gameplay. The turn based system is abandoned and makes room for a more dynamic and fun real time system. You can play up to four players and one copy of the game through the freeware software Party Guest, and multiplayer is really fun.

Dragon Quest Builders is a brilliant and fun game. There is an obvious similarity with Minecraft and the building system is more driven and weaker, but this title also offers a good story, a deep action-RPG gameplay and a blocky version of world of the first Dragon Quest for NES.

Some technical issues don’t hide the true greatness of XCOM 2. A deep, complex and fun strategic with a compelling gameplay and story. But Xbox One and PS4 can do more.

Fossil Echo is a fun platform/puzzle/stealth game with an interesting story and a good graphics department. Too bad its difficulty progression is non-existent and player frustration is always present.

A below-average short horror game that pretends to be an Alien: Isolation clone but fails in almost every possible way.

Unusual, unique, exciting. Quadrilateral Cowboy is a puzzle game that will make you assume the role of an expert hacker, committed to steal information without being detected. Highly recommended to those looking for an unforgettable adventure, artistically inspired, complex.

Dragon Quest VII Fragments of the Forgotten Past is an amazing remake of a great jRPG from the past. The new gameplay features grant a better and brand new experience for both old and new players.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is a new entry in Sonic’s franchise for Nintendo 3DS. The gameplay is fast and fun: there are plenty of stage types and many characters to choose, each with his unique skills. But the game seems way too easy, with too much advice and unlimited lives. It’s a good game overall, but not the right one to celebrate Sonic’s 25th anniversary.

Movies and videogames merge in an extremely interesting title which uses the lack of dialogue as a storytelling key point. Virginia is a story that pays a tribute to (and is inspired by) masterpieces like True Detective, The X-Files and Twin Peaks and manages to hold up in front of these great stories.

FIFA 17 has a lot of strong online activities, some of the best physics in a sports game and a brand new movie-like career. Offline it struggles with a poor AI, but still it's one of the best sports games this year.

If it weren’t for the actual toys, Lego Dimensions would be just the last in a long series of semi-identical games, but with the added physical factor this time we are on a whole new level. For the first time in the “toys-to-life” category we have real, fun to play with toys coming to life in the virtual world. This is a brand new start for the series.

The Tomorrow Children is something that might be called a concept game, a very interesting idea which is hardly transposed in a videogame. It seems like an experiment of collaborative gameplay, an experience that everyone must try in order to try to understand it.

Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet is a crazy Japanese mash-up between a fighting game and a bullet hell shooter. Its gameplay mechanics are pretty good, but the lack of a good color code for letting player recognize which bullets are good and which will hurt him when the screen is loaded with any kind of stuff, may hurt the experience.
