Luigi’s second “solo” adventure is bigger and funnier than the original GameCube title, but the stiff mission-based structure prevents it from becoming an instant classic.

DJ Hero 2 is the perfect example of the "bigger, better and stronger" theory. Despite a more commercial twist in the track list, the presence of new gameplay elements, a better multiplayer experience and the awesome party mode, all grant this game great value.

The Taken King is everything Destiny's fans wanted from Bungie. A new area, new Strikes, a wonderful Raid and lots of contents. This second year starts in the right way, despite a very short campaign and a cap level that you can reach in a couple of hours.

Blizzard proves that there is still something to say in the crowded MOBA market with a well-crafted game that only lacks some more characters and a little polish here and there. Mercenaries, mechanically interesting maps, shorter match duration are just a few elements that put Heroes of the Storm in the position to be competitive against its more popular brothers.

Deep, dark, challenging, uncompromisingly hardcore: Path of Exile is so much more “Diablo” than the official Diablo III. And it comes for free, too.

Returnal is a captivating PS5 exclusive which blends a third person shooter with several cornerstones of the roguelike/roguelite genre in an astounding result. Housemarque creates a challenging and rewarding gameplay delivering in every other aspect of the experience: graphics, sound and DualSense features above all. Then the plot...a complex and convoluted mystery that will definitely capture you.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 isn’t the final version of this amazing fighting game, but the most complete one at the moment. The new characters are amazing and well balanced with the rest of the cast, and the overall gameplay is still over the top.

The PC version of Assassin's Creed 2 enhances the already awesome elements of the console editions, and includes all the DLCs. On the other hand there are too many problems with the Ubisoft DRM system. You can play the game only if connected to internet, but the unstable quality of the Ubisoft service could be a huge problem to solve.

The seventh chapter of the Forza Motorsport series is a complete racing simulation, which allows every passionate of motors to celebrate this love. It’s not as stunning as its predecessor and not a complete simulation of a racing career, but it can satisfy every aspect of your driving desire with an incredible cars roster and a nice variety of competitions is the key to avoid the boredom of the race-collect-buy loop of the single player mode. Still Forza Motorsport remains first place on the podium.

Football Manager 2019 is a good step forward for the series, thanks to a system enriched and expanded in the capillarity of its structure. The new management tactics and training allow an even deeper and more precise approach in the preparation of the team and individual matches. It is, therefore, the usual immense and encyclopaedic football managerial experience, which certainly will not disappoint enthusiasts. We would have expected, however, a clear improvement regarding some of the historical problems of the series.

Tossing the joypad aside and using wheel and pedals, it’s nice to look back at the old chapters and appreciate the evolution of a game born as a simularcade, to become a completely different beast in the span of five years.
