Now that I’ve finally had a chance to play Year Walk I know exactly why everyone was so fascinated by it when it came out. Hauntingly atmospheric, clever and interestingly presented, it surprises at many turns and rewards players for being smart and attentive. It’s a bit of a short run, but it ends right when it needs to, leaving itself in the player’s mind for long afterwards.- DarkStation

For all the praise I will give Streets of Rogue with respect to its gameplay, I was disappointed with how the story ends. While the journey is a lot of fun, the final level is rather abrupt and anticlimactic. It isn’t a major issue, but a game of this style could really use a bombastic ending sequence to add that extra incentive to complete the game. Overall, though, Streets of Rogue is one of the best rogue-lites I’ve played in ages. It highlights the virtues of the genre very well, and while the challenge dissipates steadily over time, the game remains interesting and varied.- DarkStation

With its unique edutainment approach, Rainway Empire is an engaging and informative simulation that introduces players to the colorful and capitalistic world of railroad management. Packed with lots of extra content that benefits from a healthy existence on PC, Railway Empire Complete Collection for the PlayStation 4 is a solid and thorough management sim that captures the essence of the Golden Age of American (and international) Railroad.- DarkStation

Unravel Two is a game with many layers. On the surface lies a cooperative puzzle-platformer about two adorable yarn creatures. Underneath are meaningful narratives about escaping to safety and working together to form a brighter future. Even deeper are bittersweet and heartfelt messages about companionship, love, and the ties that bind. Coldwood’s little game about two tiny Yarnies on a grand adventure has an astounding depth that is fun to unravel.- DarkStation

It’s a relentlessly tense stealth-action shooter that manages to make its dead-horse premise feel as if it’s never been seen before now.- DarkStation

Rising Storm has started off on the right foot by being offered for free to owners of Red Orchestra 2, and this helps solidify the feeling of being an expansion. To be honest though, it’s not a bad thing. Rising Storm changes just enough with the new weapons, new maps to explore, and new mechanics such as the ability to create traps with grenades.- DarkStation

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is not just a good game, it’s a great game. The port to the Switch was brilliantly executed, taking full advantage of the console's portability. While I could not recommend it for Switch owners more, the fact it’s only $40 means you’re getting a top quality game at a much better price. Do yourself a favor, and join Captain Toad and Toadette on this adventure. The journey you’ll take is definitely worth it.- DarkStation

For me, Madden NFL 18 is the first misstep for the series of this generation. The Longshot mode is technically well produced but its story is far from compelling. The rest of Madden NFL 18 feels like very small steps forward for a franchise that could use some big leaps.- DarkStation

All the additions to the base game, from the new hero, to the ultra creepy Mosquito Vampires, are glorious, and in the end, add a fantastic amount of good content to an already great game. Ten dollars earns you an easy 30+ hours re-exploring the Ancestor’s Homestead, and while I am loathe to make value calls, this one is so easy that not making it feels wrong. If you have not picked this up yet, stop wasting time. The Countess calls…- DarkStation

Catherine is a very unique game that is set back by it's own repetitiveness and annoying puzzles. After the fifteen hours it took me to complete the game, I was glad that I got to experience the narrative, but I never want to touch the game again for the game play. It's hard for me to recommend a game that I kept playing just to get to the next cut scene.- DarkStation

There are points were the game could have been more refined, such as the ‘Dig-Dug’ inspired levels, giving more attack options or not forcing the player to collect diamonds to progress through stages. Yet, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate explores a different territory in the twin-stick shooter genre.- DarkStation

In the league of arcade racers, it still manages to hold onto its throne, despite improvements made to the online and the way the genre has progressed. These aspects hold it back a little, but as a driving game, there's still nothing that can quite match it, and I look forward to continuously revisiting the game now that it's out on new consoles.- DarkStation

Though its bewitching world and stimulating combat are brought down by some counterintuitive mechanics, it’s still a provocative tale about fate and the human condition that left me contemplating what it really means to be part of a family, and the sacrifices we make for the sake of those we love.- DarkStation

The way the narrative and gameplay fit together to make Amicia and Hugo’s journey both compelling and emotional is an impressive accomplishment that put A Plague Tale up there with the best of them. If you are in the market for a somber, story-driven game, I cannot recommend A Plague Tale enough.- DarkStation

Dragon Quest Builders is an engaging sandbox craft game that appeals to players who desire a more structured Minecraft campaign. It’s satisfying to build entire towns, and the RPG elements and addictive feedback loop may keep some playing for hours on end. Although I was disappointed with the segmented chapters and limited free build mode, I still had plenty of fun with the core campaign. The Switch version may not be the ideal version for everyone, but it’s still an excellent option, especially for newcomers. My only wish is that Square Enix can craft an even better experience with Dragon Quest Builders 2.- DarkStation

Although this is a great game of basketball, its improvements over last year aren't as significant as you would probably expect. Instead much of the experience felt like a tune up of last year's game, with some more features and modes added on the side.- DarkStation

In the end, if you have enjoyed the wave of Kickstarter PC RPGs so far, then you will enjoy Torment: Tides of Numenera too. It will likely be a game that you want to finish, but it likely won’t be one that calls you back for a second or third journey.- DarkStation
