Grinding out levels and paid for content have their places in games, and neither should be in a $10 downloadable game based on a movie. There are a few moments that the game feels really fun but those moments wear off very quickly once the grind kicks in. Unless Real Steel is a movie that defines you there really isn't any reason to go whole hog over this game. Oh, it doesn't have Hugh Jackman in it in case you were wondering.

Montague’s Mount really tries to aspire to their level only to fall quite short.

Huge sporting events don't translate well into video games, as the developer goes for quantity instead of quality, making it a sad button mashing affair.

It has so many flaws, combined with the short span of the game, makes for one that would be near impossible to recommend.

The superficial nature of the visual novel format is strange, considering this series would be perfect for the genre given the size of its character roster and the high stakes confrontations between the different good and evil shinobi schools. What we get instead is a half-assed story connected by a monotonous mini-game. A total bust (not that kind).

After being delayed, Eidos finally outs their GTA-inspired actioner. We say don't bother as it is plagued by sloppy controls, disjointed plot and dull visuals.

Unlike the dedicated officers of the R.I.P.D., do yourself a favor and just let this one go. I don’t think this needs anymore words to get that point across.

It is uncertain what influence this game will have on the future of the series, but what we do know is that this competitive multiplayer shooter is a colossal waste of time, and a total failure.

Project Root lacks the pizzazz, gives you no adrenaline rush and makes you wish that you were doing something else. Save your cash and your time, and spend them on your bucket list.

I can't say enough how disappointed I was with the final results of Kengo: Legend of the 9. There is so much potential for a realistic samurai title that it's hard to see something going much worse than this.

In the end, Dying: Reborn VR could have been a fairly okay product if it weren’t so harshly abridged. It’s a good enough VR experience, but without a coherent story to back it all up, it amounts to nothing more than a paid demo. If you're new to PlayStation VR, there are much better ways to spend your money and time.

R.B.I. Baseball 17 is a decent arcade sports game but doesn’t do anything particularly special to sell itself beyond its authentic rosters and MLB license. There is some fun to be had with scoring big plays or home runs, but that should be a given for this type of game. This one is only recommended for the biggest sports fanatics who are craving a baseball experience on Switch and can overlook its glaring drawbacks. While the simplistic gameplay promotes pick-up-and-play matches, the lack of online, faulty fielding, and bland presentation make it feel like a watered-down version of other sports titles. Add in the game-crashing glitches and R.B.I. Baseball 17 strikes out.

This is the freshman effort for developer We the Force Studios and it is certainly noticeable throughout the entirety of Randall. The Mexico based developer has crafted a game that obviously pays homage to a style of gameplay that they are fond of. However, the end result is little more than just that: an homage without any of the hooks that make other games of this variety so great. There is certainly potential for a great game within Randall and I hope this fledgling developer is able to learn from its mistakes to craft a more cohesive game in its next attempt.

Do not spend your money on this game. Thirty dollars could buy you so much more than what Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle has to offer. It's almost appalling how badly designed this game is. Even if it were five dollars, I still don't think that the price could excuse the pitiful piece of software that I was given to review. The game looks and feels like a PS2 launch title that went wrong. Thankfully, as all Touhou fans have come to expect, the music is the only redeeming quality that this game has to offer, but that's no reason to buy the game. Do yourself a favor and forget this even existed. As a Touhou fan, I can objectively say that this is one of the worst games to have come out in the series, period.

Arc of Alchemist had potential, but, ultimately, fails to deliver a compelling experience. If you like chibi characters, lots of dialogue, grinding, and mindless battle systems, you might enjoy Arc of Alchemist. Otherwise, this is a game you can easily skip.

In the end, what we have in Tokyo Tattoo Girls is by far one of the most shallow strategy games I've ever seen, with absolutely a joke of a story, and shallow and repetitive gameplay. It's just so utterly disappointing in just about every aspect. As someone who doesn't have any tattoos (although my wife more than makes up for me), I think I'd rather go get my first one than play this game any more than I had to.

In a serious need of additional development, bug-fixes and testing, as well as ditching the misguided fixed camera, Eternity: The Last Unicorn plays like a medley of solid action-RPG mechanics and ideas without much depth or polish. The setting, characters and story are its saving grace but their charms are overshadowed by the game’s repetitive and sluggish combat and the annoying camera. Calling a game’s mechanics “classic” is no excuse for gameplay that is simply not very satisfying or fun.

Takedown: Red Sabre was supposed to be an eloquent love letter to the tactical shooter genre, but the final product ends up reading more like hate mail. There isn’t a single part of the game that rises above mediocrity, and much of it dips below that mark. Worst of all, the very fans who have been craving a new game like Takedown are the ones who will be disappointed by it the most.

The final word on Black Ops: Declassified is somewhat paradoxical. It's not quite the trainwreck that many have made it out to be. In fact, if this were an iOS game available for $1.99, there's every chance that it would garner much more praise. But the Vita isn't an iPhone, or a tablet. It's capable of so much more, and for that reason, Declassifed is incapable of defending itself as anything other than execrable. It's a black mark on the franchise and yet another massive missed-opportunity for the Vita.

I have never played a farm simulator video game and based on my experience with this game, I don’t want to ever again (despite how interesting the new Farming Simulator looks). A simulator like this doesn’t have to be sexy, but Professional Farmer 2017 has all the energy of a pig waddling in the mud.
