Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a sheer triumph in every department, evolving beyond its inspirations to present one of the most engrossing RPGs of the last decade.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2 not only fails to conclude its story in a meaningful way, it highlights all the ways the entire story’s structure doesn’t really work.

Amerzone - The Explorer’s Legacy takes the excellent fundamentals established by its predecessor and enhances them tenfold with modern gaming sensibilities and unbelievable visual polish.

Steel Series is a decent action-adventure game that feels like a long-lost video store rental that fans of the genre should appreciate despite its by-the-numbers design philosophy.

The Hundred Line - Last Defence Academy is a pretty solid turn-based strategy game buried under an avalanche of terrible anime tropes and mediocre storytelling.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves might not be the flashiest fighter in the ring, but what it lacks in quantity is made up in spades thanks to its rewarding fighting mechanics and unwavering commitment to hardcore players.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is a Soulslike fan’s must-play, and could be a good option for fans to cut their teeth on if other titles seem too difficult.

GORN 2 is a must-play VR title and has been pulling me back into the VR medium. Between hilarious combat and a weird story, GORN 2 is incredible.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate takes the solid foundation of a Beat ‘Em Up and applies 2D Fighter controls to it for a fast, arcade-style action that’s impossible to put down.

Chains of Freedom is too caught up in its own macho army aesthetic to really have a connection with the player. Otherwise, it’s a half-decent tactics game.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World – Director's Cut takes an already solid platformer and elevates it to new heights with added content, new secrets and polished graphics that make it the definitive release of the game.

Everything that was great about The Talos Principle has been made new again with The Talos Principle: Reawakened. A brand-new DLC called In The Beginning and full remastering of the game and its other DLC lets players relive all of their favourite puzzles with stunning graphical upgrades to boot.

While it may seem derivative at times, Star Overdrive is a solid game. It has a cool central mechanic and takes big swings in how it delivers its world and gameplay. While not everything lands, it’s an impressive effort from a team of 10 people — one I think gamers should check out.

Blue Prince was the most fun I had playing a puzzle game thanks to the variety of challenges and freedom, but it suffered from the chance of RNG ruining the run.

The Renovator: Origins is as bargain basement as they come for horror games that aren’t remotely scary. I’d be more upset if it wasn’t so commonplace.

South of Midnight comes out swinging with an incredible story, but the gameplay just isn’t there to back it up. If you love a good story and an awesome soundtrack, it’s still worth a look.

Hitman’s updated VR Access version is everything enthusiasts of Hitman and VR could have asked for. It doesn’t change the DNA of what makes Hitman incredible; it just bolsters out another way to experience the world through Agent 47's eyes.
