The Grandia HD Collection was and still is a fine collection of two landmark RPGs. While, as a collection, it’s a bit sparse on any extras for the asking price, you could do a lot worse. While it’s still beyond strange that this didn’t release, specifically on last-gen consoles, a lot sooner, it’s good that fans can finally experience this on a non-Nintendo console. Better late than never, I suppose.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a little bumpy and not particularly well-built for the Switch, but ultimately this classic ride is still a lot of fun.

A yearly sports title is hardly one to looks to when one thinks of gameplay updates and changes, but EA Sports FC 24 is proving to be the exception to the rule.

Dauntless is a great entry point to hunting games that is easily accessible to players who have yet to experience the thrill of the hunt.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is a great throwback and homage to the classic run and gun platformers that the original Nintendo was known for.

At the end of its yarn, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a fun romp through a craft-inspired world that feels as if it was cut from the same cloth as something like Yoshi’s Crafted World, rather than LittleBigPlanet, however, this is not a bad thing, especially for those looking for a traditional platforming experience. Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a content-rich platformer that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of age and is a worthy addition to the PlayStation 5 launch line-up.

Before We Leave is a great, relaxed simulation, but feels like it may be missing a few things.

Each puzzle is so gratifying that I have no choice but to challenge myself again, but at the same time, nothing stands out.

Certainly anyone who missed out should prioritize Return To Arkham. Otherwise, you should at least take a peak at what the upgrade looks like first and decide if it’s worth it. You know, just like any remastered game. These are tricky releases, people. They aren’t ideal.

Necropolis is worth playing mostly because of its commitment to a fun tone, but falls short when you actually have to play.

SkateBIRD offers a similar skating game to some classics, but with a twist that can make it fun for people who don’t particularly follow the sport and its athletes. Plus, it’s just cute to see a bird with a Mohawk on a skateboard.

While Superstar Saga may be a bit simplistic for more advanced players, its nostalgic appeal and overall fun is enough to justify its existence.

Despite its obvious presentation issues, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is good fun.

Gundam Versus is an addictive arcade multiplayer game that requires some TLC from Bandai Namco Entertainment to reach its full potential.

Despite not living up to its full potential on Switch 2, Daemon X Machina is still an incredibly fast-paced and fun action RPG.

To put it simply, KYN is a fun game that doesn’t do enough to separate itself from the countless other top down-action RPGs.

The action and gameplay are a bloody feast for fans in Bloodrayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites, but the difficult nature of the game can cut out a lot of its audience. Breathtaking visuals and intense gameplay packaged in a low price make this game at least a must-try for most gamers.

With an emphasis on stealth and a healthy dose of absurdity, Mutant Year Zero is a unique take on the XCOM formula that is as challenging as it is engaging.

Silent Slayer: Vault of the Vampire is a tough but rewarding horror-themed puzzle game that can be unforgiving at times, best reserved for Puzzle game fanatics.

Attack on Titan is a fun hack-and-slash that well represents the Attack on Titan franchise.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy returns in improved resolution, with smoother animations and a consistent 16:9 aspect ratio across the collection.

Has-Been Heroes, best enjoyed in short bursts, is a clever take on roguelikes and a strong argument for the Switch’s easy portability.

Super Bomberman R is a surprise winner in the Switch launch line-up, and well worth considering for old-school players, multiplayer enthusiasts and lovers of cute things.

While unpolished, Old Time Hockey offers a lot for fans looking for an experience outside of NHL.

If you're really big into top-down shooters give Neon Chrome a shot, otherwise maybe wait for some local couch warriors to help out before diving in.
