If H. P. Lovecraft’s fiction is close to your heart and you enjoy retro shooters, you will be delighted by Forgive Me Father. Despite its shallow narrative the game puts a lot of effort into making you feel like a protagonist in one of the works by Master from Providence.- CD-Action

The developers from Hakama tried to brush up the series’ formula somewhat and push it more decisively in the direction of serious RPGs, but at the same time they are clinging to old mechanics, even those highly annoying. However, if you can tune out the game’s flaws, you’ll get many hours of decent fun that resembles Zeldas to some extent.- CD-Action

This is how VR titles should be done! Moss: Book II cleverly uses the potential of PS VR, offers immersive and varied environments, surprisingly creative challenges, great animations and engaging gameplay. What’s important, it doesn’t cause any discomfort or nausea. It’s a pity that it is quite short, though.- CD-Action

Playing The Ezio Collection is a bit like visiting a museum, especially if you look at the characters and their animations. However, these old games still have a lot of charm, and the ability to travel with Ezio to Italy or Constantinople whenever and wherever you desire is great to have.- CD-Action

This action RPG set in the dark fantasy-flavored Wild West enraptured me with its cleverly constructed story with meaningful choices, unique atmosphere, and living, interactive, beautiful world. My delight would have been even greater if it wasn’t for the terrible AI and unintuitive controls.- CD-Action

It would be hard to name a genre more trivial than rail shooters, but that’s not what bothered me the most about The House of the Dead: Remake. The game’s biggest problem is that its campaign mode offers literally half an hour’s worth of content. If you’re not a fan of replaying the same four levels over and over again to improve your high score, it’s hard to justify spending money on THotD.- CD-Action

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ main feature is its wacky humor – you’ll either love it or find it cringy and annoying. I enjoyed the game mainly because I liked the way it makes fun of RPG clichés, but when I was not laughing, the excitement was gone instantly. It’s still a solid shooter but I’m already tired of the Borderlands gameplay formula and this spin-off does too little to shake things up, even though its setting offered a huge potential to do so.- CD-Action

Kirby might be overshadowed by other Nintendo franchises but in terms of quality it’s right up there with the best of them. Forgotten Land embodies the essence of Nintendo’s creativity, friendliness and charm, while its level design is so good the rest of the industry should take notes.- CD-Action

Tunic might seem like a mere homage to The Legend of Zelda, but despite similar gameplay mechanics it’s a great game in its own right. It’s a surprisingly complex mix of a metroidvania and an RPG with a heavy emphasis on exploring the world and uncovering its secrets. Sometimes it might be frustrating, but I’m sure it will charm many.- CD-Action

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to pay so much for such an awful experience. There’s a potentially enjoyable action game trapped inside Babylon’s Fall but it’s buried deep under layers of bugs, bad design, chaos and overall misery.- CD-Action

Project_Hel might not be as great in terms of level design as the base game, but it’s a fun DLC that tells a good story and provides more space for combat, which results in more intense, more violent gameplay.- CD-Action

Stranger of Paradise tries to marry Final Fantasy with a soulslike, while also often reaching outside this genre. The whole idea was great, which makes the poor execution (uninspired level design, run-of-the-mill story, mediocre graphics, boring boss fights) even more disappointing. However, if you’re able to turn a blind eye to the game’s many flaws, you might find it moderately enjoyable.- CD-Action

GTA V aged really well and it was a pleasure to return to Los Santos. Almost a decade later the attention to details is still amazing, literally beyond reach of most modern games. If you’ve never played this classic, you really need to catch up. However, if you’ve already finished it on PS4 or Xbox One, you will lose nothing if you ignore the next-gen edition, as it does little beyond adding new rendering modes.- CD-Action

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is still a very good fighting game, but this new version is not even a remaster. It’s a simple port that further exposes weaknesses of the original game’s aged graphics (forget about a dedicated PS5 version, by the way). Putting a heavy emphasis on the story is not a problem per se, but the way P4AU tells it doesn’t fit the genre and will confuse those not acquainted with the main Persona series.- CD-Action

Far: Changing Tides might be too easy for an experienced gamer, and its sailing mechanics require too much attention and get tiringly repetitive, but this somewhat melancholic puzzle platformer undeniably has a unique atmosphere and charm to it. Overall, I enjoyed Far: Lone Sails (Okomotive’s previous game) more.- CD-Action

I strongly felt the presence of late Benoît Sokal in Syberia: The World Before. I saw the Belgian master’s touch in the game’s distinct architecture, enchanting environments, non-obvious characters, and the story that once again takes on the subject of evanescence and longing for something irreversibly lost. The World Before is not the best entry in the series, but it is definitely a huge improvement over Syberia 3.- CD-Action

The Witch Queen is one of the best Destiny 2 expansions and a perfect example of how to evolve an online game. It proves that Bungie has a consistent vision and while the developers are not afraid of changes, they introduce them cautiously and cleverly, letting the game remain what it’s meant to be – a pretty much perfect looter-shooter.- CD-Action

In terms of its size Dawn of Ragnarok is a full-fledged, traditional expansion we used to see back in the day rather than a typical modern DLC. It offers a surprisingly good story but the mythological setting didn’t bring any substantial changes to the gameplay. It’s just more of Valhalla and while I enjoyed the base game I’ve simply had enough of Vikings by now.- CD-Action

I’m not surprised Sims fans are upset with this pack, as it was released in a truly abysmal state. Tartosa might be the most beautiful area in the whole game, but the expansion is almost unplayable, as many of its elements are either disappointing or simply broken.- CD-Action

The remaster skillfully combines different versions of Powerslave and captures the style and atmosphere of first-person shooters from the 90s. For me, the game itself is not that great though. If you’re looking for a retro shooter, be aware that the action kinda takes a back seat in Powerslave, while you’re forced to complete platforming sequences, collect tons of necessary items and backtrack.- CD-Action

OlliOlli World is a fun, very accessible game that lets you easily pull of many tricks, fly over chasms and slide on dinosaur bones as you explore an enticing wacky world. What I don’t like about Roll7’s latest creation, was its narrative side, a sudden difficulty spike by the end and the lack of a good level editor.- CD-Action

Assetto Corsa Competizione is a full-fledged simulator but it’s scanty in terms of typical game content. However, a multitude of settings to play with and an advanced driving model will keep racing fans occupied for hours on end. What’s also worth mentioning, is the fact that the game takes full advantage of DualSense’s features, which really improves the overall experience.- CD-Action

Imagine Heroes of Might and Magic III with VGA graphics and real-time battles, and you’ll get Hero’s Hour – a beautiful nostalgic journey back to the 90s that will try to rob you of all your free time. Add a campaign, improve the AI and give the player more control over the battles and in my opinion you’d get what could easily be a low-res HoMM VIII.- CD-Action

Interesting character classes, enticing atmosphere, visual attractiveness, satisfying combat – Lost Ark hit the mark on everything one expects from a good action RPG. I could feel my character’s power from the very first step in this interesting, varied world, and saw potential for one of the best Diablo’s cousins in years. It’s a pity that the MMO aspects of Lost Ark forced some compromises and simply get in the way of enjoying the satisfying Diablo-esque side.- CD-Action

The wait was long, but it was worth it! LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has a lot going for it, offering plenty of action, many puzzles, rich environments and a very enjoyable co-op mode. It’s still the familiar LEGO games formula we’ve seen many times, but skillfully expanded with new ideas and improvements. A must-play title for both Star Wars and LEGO fans.- CD-Action

I felt disappointed with Elex II, because while in some respects it is better than its predecessor, other elements are a step back. Gameplay balance, combat, graphics, and interface have improved a bit, but some obvious design flaws are still there and the storyline is just weak, especially the severely underwhelming ending. However, if you love Piranha Bytes’ games, you'll probably have fun either way. I did.- CD-Action

Grid Legends has a good driving model, but its career mode annoyed me with some awful design choices. The story mode is decent, but it’s narrative is so obvious, you instantly know how the thing ends. In terms of graphics, great weather effects contrast with some aged textures, while the game as a whole suffers from heavy recycling.- CD-Action
