B.I.O.T.A. is an old school metroidvania heavily inspired by James Cameron’s “Aliens”. It is not groundbreaking, but the gameplay is really varied and the art style will surely appeal to retro games maniacs. However, despite its retro look B.I.O.T.A. is very forgiving, which might not be an advantage to everyone – personally, I wish it was more challenging.

A doubtlessly original title that offers a lot of fun through very extensive options of building, customizing and optimizing vehicles but could benefit from faster progression. [06/2018, p.52]

The first word that comes to my mind when I think of Prejudice is 'solid'. Every element of this game was executed at least well (the Swarm mode, audio and graphics) and some of them really stand out (like the Conquest mode and Dynamic Combat Missions). [June 2011, p.60]

Andromeda had no chance to outmatch the trilogy – and it didn’t. It’s not as emotional as its predecessors, leaves a lot to be desired in terms of execution and its campaign is unnecessarily bloated. Still the game has that unmistakable Mass Effect atmosphere and had some moments that left me euphoric. [05/2017, p.34]

Gigantic offers engaging, fast-paced gameplay and well-designed daily quests system, but needs much more characters. Dividing the PC community between Windows Store, Steam and Arc will not help it succeed. [10/2017, p.64]

This game is deeply satisfying when you are driving and at times frustrating when you're not (the load times can really get under your skin). And thus – in my opinion – is a bit worse than the predecessor. [June 2011, p.64]

This year’s edition of PES is a really good game (the PC version is at last on par with the consoles) that has one major problem – it appeals to people already won over by Konami’s series and has almost no chance to convince FIFA’s fans. That doesn’t change the fact that I can honestly recommend it. [12/2017, p.56]

New game by the developers of Luftrausers and Nuclear Throne is heavily based on 2D Zeldas and although it does not add much to the formula, it removes a lot of distractions, which makes it a compact and very fun little adventure. [06/2018, p.66]

The use of stop-motion-inspired animation alongside hand-crafted characters and environments makes playing Harold Halibut a truly unique experience. However, I wish the game was a bit shorter and more interactive.

A caption on the box for Polish edition of Lost Horizon promises a 'traditional adventure game with a cinematic feel' – and this slogan is very accurate. For the fans of Indy-like adventures Lost Horizon is a must-have. [June 2011, p.76]

I was annoyed by various flaws (both technical and design-related) and tedious, dragged out final stages of the campaign, but overall I enjoyed the ride. It looks like the developers wanted to stuff the game with all the best elements Middle-earth has to offer. Shadow of War’s atmosphere is terrific and watching Talion rise in power is surprisingly addictive. [12/2017, p.62]

In contrast to Emily or Corvo Billie does not offer the sense of true power, which might be disappointing to some, but to me was refreshing. Death of the Outsider provides just five missions, but one of them is so good and so extensive that I replayed it over and over again to find every alternative path and hidden event. [12/2017, p.70]

I found Ghost Warrior 3 to be better as a whole than the quality of its components suggested. Of course the game should’ve been more polished at launch, but I still had surprisingly good time with it thanks to its well-designed open world, a satisfying weapons system and a fairly high degree of freedom in choosing ways to complete missions. An adaptation of a board game that looks a bit infantile, but despite the seemingly trivial rules really makes you flex that mental muscle. If you appreciate puzzle games, you’ve come to the right place. If you have young children, Quilts and Cats of Calico will work great as family entertainment. If on top of that you also love cats, you will be purring with contentment.

The game's real resolution seems lower than 720p but still cars are very detailed and the dynamic weather system is unrivalled. Overall, Codemasters did well to improve on F1 2010 but there still are some minor issues to be dealt with. [October, p.64]

A wicked, Rocket League-inspired fiesta that cleverly translates dodgeball into a fast-paced multiplayer game. With the variety of balls (and player’s ability to become one!), throwing, catching, knocking each other out, and avoiding city traffic, it’s pure fun. However, to enjoy the game to the fullest, be sure to gather a proper team instead of playing with randoms. [08/2021, p.38]

Stray is a melancholic game that tells a simple story about a cat lost in a world of robots pretending to be humans. The feeling of solitude is magnified by nostalgic music that captures the mood of the moment well and beautiful environments cloaked in twilight. I liked the cat’s perspective and enjoyed snooping around the underground city, but weird jump mechanics made exploring a bit harder than it should be.

After the failure called MotoGP 23, the latest entry does more than just put the series back on track – it elevates it to a whole new level. If I were to rate MotoGP 24 solely against the previous installments, I would give it a 9 out of 10, but overall, an 8 accurately reflects the quality of the game. The bottom line is that we’ve just received the best MotoGP game ever.

It seems NHL 12 and FIFA 12 teams were sharing ideas, as the hockey game also boasts of tweaked defending and a new physics engine that works good usually but not always. In general there are a lot of enhancements but the game plays more or less the same as the last year's edition. [October, p.74]
