Fans spoiled by sparkling creativity of Super Mario Galaxy may find the latest Mario platformer uninventive, but the pure pleasure it offers makes up for the idea recycling. Plus it features the best 3D I've seen on 3DS so far. [January 2012, p.74]- CD-Action

The Stanley Parable once again charmed me with its narrative and its constant toying with the player. There’s not much game in it but despite that (or maybe because of that) it says a lot about other games and gamers. It’s a brilliant, one-of-a-kind title, now available in a richer, longer version.- CD-Action

With its varied, satisfying fighting styles, tons of equipment, wealth of animals and monsters, online functionality, and attractive visuals Monster Hunter: World is a skillfully concocted drug that keeps you coming back for more despite its lackluster story and some excessively drawn-out encounters. Right now it’s the only game that I want to come back to even after a solid beating. It offers a dynamic and balanced gameplay based solely on player skills. If you haven’t tried Dota 2 yet, you need to. [CD-Action 09/2013, p.54]- CD-Action

An almost perfect MMO game and the first one in years that had the guts to drop outdated, 'tried and true' means and replaced them with new, fresh ideas. [11/2012, p.46]- CD-Action

The story is not only engrossing but also adapts to your actions (e.g killing an important NPC) and lets you make decisions that really do influence the future. The game is nonlinear – every problem has a couple of possible solutions (including violence and stealth), some of which were prepared by the designers while other result from your own creativity. This freedom is the game's greatest strength, but not the only one – dialogues are excellent along with the character development system and the visuals are very nice. Human Revolution is not perfect though – it could benefit from a more modern approach to some elements and more spacious hub areas. It's as good as the first Deus Ex but could have been even better! I’m very happy that FTL’s developer returned with a new game, as I spent almost 30 hours with Into the Breach and I feel like it was just a moment. [05/2018, p.76]- CD-Action

I never thought I’d enjoy a game where drawing and coloring are gameplay’s core elements. Don’t let the seemingly infantile graphics fool you, because Chicory is much deeper and more serious than you might think. Or rather can be, because it’s for you to decide whether you want to delve into the deeper, darker layer of the game and uncover the therapeutic power of art in the fight against depression. If you don’t, you still get a weird, unusual and very enjoyable mix of an adventure game, a puzzle game, some platforming elements and a coloring book. [09/2021, p.30]- CD-Action

Tekken 8 emerges as the king of modern fighting games. The Heat System turns the intensity of battles up to the max, the abundance of options and game modes won’t let you get bored for a long time, while the focus on new players should help convince even your most resistant friends to duel with you.- CD-Action

I’m glad Bayonetta 2 finally managed to escape the Wii U prison, because it’s too good a game to rot along a dying platform. PlatinumGames’ series is the pinnacle of the hack’n’slash genre and I strongly recommend it to every Switch user. [04/2018, p.71]- CD-Action

Neon White is a brilliant, immensely satisfying and stylish hybrid of an FPS and a platformer. It’s gameplay is crazy fast, the level design is stellar, and although the game takes place in Heaven, it’s devilishly addictive. It’s one of the best games of 2022, no doubt in my mind about it.- CD-Action

Remastered edition tried to get rid of some nuisances of the original, but still it’s a game designed for an old, very limited console. However, if you wish to catch up on classics, first go for Ocarina of Time, then obligatorily check out Majora’s Mask. [04/2015, p.59]- CD-Action

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an enormous RPG with a setting that’s unusual for this genre. It offers dozens of hours of fun, including engaging and wacky side missions. The TV series-like directing, the group of believable characters, and the exploration of US and Japanese locations all make a tremendous impression. Some occasional problems do not obscure the game’s strengths, especially if you’re a fan of the series.- CD-Action

If you want to see what an exemplary roguelike looks like, look at Dead Cells. It does everything right – the controls, the level design, the combat, the character progression system, the pace – and collecting cells remains a joy even after dozens of hours. [10/2018, p.58]- CD-Action

Everything about Dark Souls III is great, but it fails to push the series forward. Bloodborne and both previous Souls squash it in terms of ambition. DkS3 is like a compilation album by your favorite band – you enjoy listening to it because you love these songs despite having heard them so many times before, but there’s no room for even a tiniest surprise. The game has its shortcomings, but until I completed it (in 60 hours) Pillars of Eternity was my air, my food, my life, my last thought when I was going to sleep (if I went to sleep at all, that is) and the first when I was waking up. I would come to the office sleepy, drink a bucket of energy drinks and feel the same excitement that overwhelmed me ten years ago when I played BioWare’s games. [05/2015, p.42]- CD-Action

Slay the Spire proves that tactical games can glue the player to the chair for long hours without depriving them of mental comfort. At this moment Mega Crit’s debut doesn’t seem to have any competition – neither in the card game genre, nor in the roguelike. [03/2019, p.68]- CD-Action

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 perfectly combines threads from previous instalments while remaining welcoming to newcomers. It’s based on very enjoyable combat mechanics and offers an interesting world to explore, but it’s a shame that dated graphics and intrusive invisible walls make it look like it was released a few years ago. I’m also disappointed that the developers decided to stick to what worked well twice before instead of making a step forward that the series could use.- CD-Action

Super Mario Odyssey is still the best Mario game, but that doesn’t change the fact that 3D World is up there among the best platformers ever made. So is Bowser’s Fury, a game much smaller in scale but still phenomenal. [04/2021, p.40]- CD-Action

It’s a pity that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t look like this at launch. However, Phantom Liberty works great not only as a showcase for the Update 2.0 which completely overhauled the game, but also on its own, as a powerful spy story with tough choices and outstanding Idris Elba as Solomon Reed. Overall, CD Projekt Red has again released a DLC superior to the base game.- CD-Action
