We can only confirm that we are facing one of the best titles of the year and most likely, the best 2D Mario of all time. The Nintendo Switch shines again with a truly screaming exclusive that you simply cannot miss because of the great way in which it takes simple and already proven bases, and on them puts a huge number of innovative ideas that undoubtedly feel like the next big thing. step for the series and of course, the entrance to a new era that we hope will expand for much longer. Our favorite plumber is launching his new game and that deserves a celebration.- Atomix

Players with experience have a reason to visit Drangleic again, given that this adventure has design changes that truly refresh the journey. A definitive edition that without saying it, condenses and improves a trip of pain, huge challenges and even bigger rewards.- Atomix

Super Mario RPG is a new example of how to represent old classics in a new way. Nintendo just nailed it, presenting gorgeous graphics and music, and making the right choice on how to make better things such as gameplay mechanics and quality of life improvements.- Atomix

I had never played a title in which the mechanics of using a sword felt so organic and, at the same time, that it made all the sense in the world using traditional controls. No matter how familiar you are with the work of this Japanese study, Sekiro is something you've never experienced. Sekiro is the game that everyone who loves this medium should have among our priorities. Sekiro is a new step for the genres and subgenres it represents. Sekiro is a new standard that will surely continue to influence other developers. Sekiro is not a Dark Souls anymore with ninjas and samurais. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a masterpiece that you cannot miss.- Atomix

I think that if you were one of those who recently made the enormous expense to buy a PlayStation 5, you must have Returnal among your priorities, because it is precisely software that gives the hardware a sense of existence. It is useless to have all those capabilities without games that make the most of it. Housemarque's work has rekindled hope for what the developers will present to us in the future. The truth is that anxiety invades me because I already know what else has been prepared for us and more than anything else, it adds some flavor to this new generation that, as I already told you, had a strange beginning in large part due to the complicated situation that It surrounded us and continues to surround us to this day. Returnal is a celebration of the modernity and sophistication of the medium.- Atomix

Capcom has done it again. After delighting us with the way in which they brought Resident Evil 2 and 3 back, they manage to do justice to the legend that Resident Evil 4 represents, which was undoubtedly a much more important challenge if you consider that this is a more modern game.- Atomix

I don't know what the next step for the series will be. While Dragon Quest XII is inevitable, I would love to see the fourth, fifth, and sixth installments receive the same treatment. Although ports of the Nintendo DS versions are also something I'd like to see, the HD-2D format creates the perfect space to offer us unforgettable adventures that will not only please nostalgic fans but also serve as a gateway for a new generation.- Atomix

Insomniac Games has done it again. Although in effect, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 starts from the already very well-built base of its two predecessors, the way in which it expands things in all departments makes it a must-see game for anyone looking for a great story, amazing graphics, a polished, deep and very fun combat system, as well as an open world that, although systematic, always has something to offer to accentuate the excellent game mechanics that are being presented to us, this with a rhythm that makes letting go of control really difficult.- Atomix

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is one of the best games of the year. There's no doubt about it. Lizardcube are geniuses, and they've proven that any SEGA franchise has the potential to make a spectacular comeback, as long as it's in their hands. So, the only question remains: when will they give Golden Axe the same treatment?- Atomix

Thanks to an impressive respect for the game's original vision while also finding areas for improvement to modernize a masterpiece that's more than 20 years old, we can say that the Silent Hill 2 remake not only meets expectations, but far exceeds them and makes the name Bloober Team take on a new meaning after all the doubts that surrounded it. It's also very important to highlight Konami's work in choosing the right team to play such an important title so loved by the community. Needless to say, we're facing one of the great experiences of 2024 that, regardless of whether or not you played the original at the time, you have to give it a chance. Somehow, the Poles have managed to make both old veterans of the mythical saga and horror genre, as well as those who are completely new, more than satisfied.- Atomix

The gameplay and systems that Unicorn Overlord presents to us are some of the best the genre has for us today. The customization, synergy, real-time combat, and exploration are addictive, and you always want to keep going, no matter how many hours of the day have passed. Each element works in harmony to deliver an experience that has been refined to near perfection. There is no doubt, Vanillaware has given us one of the best video games of 2024, and although it is likely that many will overlook this work, all those who give it a chance will find a tactical JRPG that manages to demonstrate the magic of this genre. , and the talent of this specular studio.- Atomix

Persona 3 Reload is the game that all fans of the series have been waiting for since Persona 5 Royal. Thanks to all its mechanics, improvements and narrative, this is the perfect entry point for the series. For those who have never experienced a game in the franchise beyond the fifth installment, this is the title you need in your lives. This experience presents us with a story focused on finding the beauty in our lives, in memories, and the meaning we give to each interaction with other people. Along with this, each of the small vignettes are very worthwhile, since they reinforce the messages of the main campaign, and offer a series of moments with a good range of emotions.- Atomix

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a game with a considerably smaller scale than the last two installments in the series and therefore, with much more earthly goals and objectives, however, Grezzo brings to the table a title with a lot of proposal that knew perfectly how to mix the whole new philosophy of the franchise, with its oldest and most beloved traditions by fans. This opens a completely new line of thought that tells us that smaller-sized The Legend of Zelda also have a place in the future. Needless to say, we are facing one of the great video games of this very strong 2024, one that of course, you shouldn't miss for anything.- Atomix

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation is a fantastic way for concluding the incredible war story that enveloped the Hoshido and Nohr Family. Albeit it can be played without the need to have completed neither the Birthright nor Conquest versions, it is highly recommended - save this one for the last so you can enjoy at its fullest all of the contents and augments that are exposed here. Easily a great way to conclude with this memorable tale.- Atomix

Having such a secure path to success with titles like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, or really any of its legacy franchises could have pushed Capcom to retreat further into its comfort zone. However, fortunately for all of us, what the company has achieved over the past decade has had the opposite effect. Proof of this can be seen in games like the sensational Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and now Pragmata, which carries the responsibility of revolutionizing an entire genre. Indeed, we are looking at one of the biggest titles of 2026—one that we simply cannot recommend highly enough to keep on your radar.- Atomix

Saros is brilliant from every angle, even if it isn’t the bold, risk-taking, and highly innovative bet that Returnal once was. Its highly sophisticated gameplay fits perfectly with a beautiful level design and its entire roguelite structure. On top of that, it presents one of the most visually and audibly impressive titles you can currently find on PS5—without even mentioning its deeply crafted science fiction story that keeps you engaged throughout a surprisingly long runtime. Yes, we’re looking at one of those games that will undoubtedly appear on “best of the year” lists, and it could even earn a spot among those competing for Game of the Year.- Atomix

Thanks to a spectacular gameplay system with proven ideas and well-grounded new concepts, a perfect understanding of the genres it represents, and of course, an audiovisual presentation that's truly jaw-dropping, we can say that Absolum is one of the greatest games of 2025. It arrives with a relatively low profile, despite the fact that those behind it had already proven their immense talent. Needless to say, no matter your current situation, you have to make room for Dotemu's latest release—you honestly won't regret it.- Atomix

For quite some time now, whenever a new Forza Horizon title is announced, we can be almost entirely certain that we will be treated to a very solid racing experience—one that also allows us to explore some exotic region of the world. Playground Games understands its own formula to perfection, and—at least so far—it has managed to successfully evolve it with each successive release. This first look at Forza Horizon 6 demonstrates that this trend is set to continue; while this is great news on one hand, it leaves us longing for something new and distinct for the series on the other.
