Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the perfect combination of Monster Hunter and Pokémon. Although with some minor flaws, it manages to pull off a fresh experience, with some twists that really make it fun and also one of the biggest surprises of 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.- Areajugones

The remake of the legendary Alex Kidd In Miracle World is already a reality. The 8-bit classic comes back to life from the hand of the Spanish Jankenteam in a reimagining that adds several new elements, leaving us wanting more.- Areajugones

Scarlet Nexus is a video game that, despite the fact that in the long run it can become repetitive and has a complex story with some inconsistencies, it has a really well-designed combat system that is fun. Technically it is a step forward in anime titles, so Bandai Namco has created a new work more than worthy and with good ideas.- Areajugones

Quietus of the Knights is, to sum up, a masterpiece of the metroidvania genre. Finesterra introduces one of the most memorable journeys of the year, giving us a decadent universe that is as tragic as beautiful and also with a fun, complex and precise gameplay. Definitely, a must-have not only for those who are fans of the genre, but also for those who are not as well as for anyone that wants to give themselves a true gift. It is an absolute recommendation.- Areajugones

A quite satisfactory experience that immerses us fully in the world of programming without requiring hundreds of lines of code. It adapts perfectly to object-oriented programming, although with much simpler concepts achieved thanks to 'nodon'. Without a doubt, a great stimulant for your imagination.- Areajugones

Although Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection does a good job improving the gameplay in general terms thanks to the combination of 60 FPS and 4K/1080p, it lacks significant changes regarding the controls. Unfortunately, the collection does not shine as bright as it could had it been improved at a higher degree, especially when these past few years have seen the successful launch of many great hack n' slash games.- Areajugones

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is, on one hand, a sublime experience regarding the technical aspects, one which fully utilizes PS5's hardware in order to become the most 'next-gen' thing up until now. On the other hand, it is also much more than a simple showing of Sony's new console power: it is a game with both a heart and a soul, a love letter to the whole Ratchet & Clank franchise.- Areajugones

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 doesn't revolutionize the stealth genre, but it doesn't have to: it's a game that knows its objectives and, because of that, manages to become a really fun adventure. Despite lacking a good story and having some noticeable technical flaws, it's one of the most enjoyable sniper and infiltration games that the industry has to offer.- Areajugones

Guilty Gear -Strive- becomes one of the best launches of 2021 and, at the same time, one of the biggest references for the fighting genre. Arc System Works delivers a new masterpiece that, despite some bad design choices, is as flawless as enjoyable, recommendable for newcomers to this style of games and for veterans that are used to combat titles.- Areajugones

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is an expansion that has great ideas, but its lack of polish and content prevails over its innovation. As of today, we recommend to wait for its acquisition until Frontier Developments, as it sure will, refines its functionalities, then settling it as one of the most complete MMO of the industry.- Areajugones

Resident Evil 8 Village becomes one of the best games of 2021 due to a couple of main reasons: first, it polishes the formula of its predecessor, and second, it provides an essence like no other in the whole franchise. Ethan Winters' new adventure is a sublime work that shines whether it is regarding its storytelling or the gameplay; from the characters to the general atmosphere, it manages to entice us from the very first moment, distinguishing itself as a standalone story but, at the same time, finding its place within one of the most relevant IP in the industry.- Areajugones

Miitopia's main weakness may be that, for an RPG, it lacks depth of gameplay. Nonetheless, it manages to shine bright despite it all thanks to its MII. The fact that we, as players, can become the main characters alongside family and/or friends, thus creating altogether a charismatic group of heroes, it's indeed its biggest virtue.- Areajugones

Biomutant tries to imitate what we have seen so far in games like The Witcher 3 or the recent entries of the Assassin's Creed franchise... but with a lower budget. Even if its open world is indeed interesting, Biomutant has some clear issues such as a lack of variety in the enemies department, a repetitive gameplay, a progression system with not much to offer and a poor narrative that, in the long run, hurts the general gameplay. However, it manages to still stand throughout all this due to its less than 20 hours duration as well as its magnificent visual aspect, although in the end it simply provides an experience that probably won't stand out much... for better or worse.- Areajugones

Knockout City is a fun multiplayer video game that takes advantage of a well-designed playability, and very accessible mechanics that work very well. Considering it's a game as a service, it is inevitable that the question arises as to whether it will have enough personality to be considered a success, and although the base is good and the developers have great plans for the future, there are certain superficial elements that deserve to be explored in greater depth.- Areajugones

Days Gone lands on PC as the second PlayStation Studios exclusive to make the multiplatform leap. The port has no major issues, hence providing a remarkable adventure with Deacon at the helm. Whether you have a PC fully prepared for top performance or a more modest one, the fact remains that the Days Gone port is a pretty recommendable experience.- Areajugones

Given that Returnal was not amongst the most anticipated upcoming games of 2021, carrying a sort of underdog label, it is a massive surprise. Housemarque has carried out its most ambitious project and, although it has slight shortcomings, it is one of the games that best use the DualSense and PS5 characteristics, thus becoming an essential pick for both shooters and roguelikes fans alike. And, of course, it's very addictive.- Areajugones

Exploring a world full of Pokémon, vast landscapes, and an impressive number of possibilities for interaction with and with each other is something any fan of the series should dream of. Maybe New Pokémon Snap presents a simple gameplay, but in which it can be deepened to immortalize an infinite number of unique moments and snapshots worthy of belonging to any nature photographer.- Areajugones

It Takes Two improves on previous Hazelights games, setting aside cinematics and betting on 'a game that has been rebuilt onto a toy'. Gameplay-wise the game is excellent: it has a ton of variety, and it is as surprising as fun until the very end. Nevertheless, the story itself is unable to properly talk about love or relationships in any way, and so it kind of puts a dent on a work that would otherwise have been a must-play experience.- Areajugones

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is a missed opportunity to make the series a recognized IP. Lots of bugs, mechanics copied from New Horizons poorly implemented, and a boring progression system. The video game is saved by its graphics and its relationship system.- Areajugones

In The Climb 2 the gameplay has been polished and the game has improved overall, and there are also new maps to provide further challenges, which works just fine mechanically as well as visually. Even if regarding new content there is not much to consider this a sequel, it still is an enjoyable experience for VR.- Areajugones

Ys IX: With Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, Falcom has once again created a really fun JRPG. In this installment of the saga, enough new features are added to make the game experience even better than the previous one, and despite being weighed down by its graphics, this aspect does not become a barrier that prevents us from enjoying everything that the game has to offer.- Areajugones

If Super Mario 3D World was a masterpiece for Wii U, in this Nintendo Switch’s version it is confirmed again. Not only that, but Bowser's Fury, the unreleased expansion that includes this adaptation, should materialize in a new iteration of Super Mario in the future because it has a lot to say. Tarsier Studios introduces Little Nightmares 2 with kind of a continuist approach yet still managing to surprise us. The game is backed by an improved narrative, exquisite gameplay and an excellent design that, altogether, portray an experience whose only flaw is but a battle system that does not merge well with the rest of the elements in play.- Areajugones
