Still, I recommend giving Venture Kid a try if you’re looking for a classic, Mega Man-like platformer to check out over the weekend.

The graphics and music are also excellent, and really hit home for someone that grew up with the retro classics.

This game is a lot of fun. The graphics are cute and there are plenty of power ups to increase your point score. Stars are easily collected and, even though you can buy them through in-app purchases it is not necessary at all.

Seriously, give this game a try and blast the limbs off of the undead.

Tread of the Dead may have simplistic gameplay, but it's fun because it is one of those great casual games that you can pick up and play for just a few minutes at a time.

With its high quality graphics, its hand drawn comics, and its fun personality, Retrobot is one game that you won't want to miss this week.

In a word, the graphics are stunning. Everything from the cutscenes to the details of the background buildings blurs the line between fantasy and reality that you just about forget you're playing a game.

Despite some flaws, Stellar Wanderer is a very solid space combat RPG game that will appeal nicely to fans of the genre. I recommend checking it out this weekend if you want a nice, lengthy space combat game that is full of action.

I’ve spent a bit of time with the game since I downloaded it earlier this week, and even though I’m still early on, I’m enjoying every minute of it. Sure, it may not be a main Kingdom Hearts game, but it is definitely something to help satisfy my Kingdom Hearts fix until KH3 comes out.

I recommend giving Island Delta a try if you like adventure puzzle games that are set in the future and want to give yourself a challenge.

Fans of the tower defense genre will love this game. It adds a refreshing dynamic that makes it more than just a top-down turret dropping event.

I've become quite addicted to it, and it's a great way to ring in the new season of MLP this weekend.

This revamp of the classic is worth the download and even diehard fans of retro gaming will be pleasantly surprised by how fun this game is. If you like gallery shooters, you'll love Outlaw.

If you want a taste of what it's like to perform maintenance and repairs in space, give Astronaut Spacewalk a try. The level of detail and realism is extraordinary, and you won't find anything else like it on the App Store.

A unique little game with super cute graphics. It is fun to play for a few minutes at a time, so if you're looking for something different, I'd give it a try.

I love the visual style and music, but the controls are poorly executed and the scoring mechanics are unclear.

The repetitiveness of this game becomes apparent all too quickly. The process goes from upgrading in the garage, to zipping through the level, and turning zombies into red smears. Rinse and repeat.

Regardless, the graphics are awesome, the music is fun, and the gameplay itself is pretty hard and challenging, so it should be a treat for any dual-stick arcade shooter fan, as long as you can get used to subpar controls.

Overall, I'm enjoying Let Them Come a lot, despite the issues with the controls and levels. The game looks great and the metal soundtrack is just fun to listen to, especially since you can change the tracks on a whim. Hopefully the difficulty and level issues get addressed soon, as its current state can be a bit unbalanced. And I hope to see improvements and optimizations to the aiming controls, as it would make the game a lot smoother.

This is a fun game that is similar to a castle defense game, but has arcade shooter elements to it as well. It is entertaining and exciting, but not challenging at all.

However, while Baum looks and sounds great, the controls are a big problem for me right now, and I can’t fully recommend the game until it is better optimized in an update.

I'm definitely enjoying Wreck-It Ralph so far, and I think that it's a great price for three games (one dollar gets you three games that would probably cost a dollar each). The graphics are great, and all of the games are simple, pick-up-and-play games that you can easily kill a few minutes with.

While it is a paymium title, like many of Gameloft's recent releases, The Amazing Spider-Man manages to provide a sense of freedom from both the in-app purchases, and the natural laws of physics as well.

This is a fun game for war history buffs and fans of turn-based strategy games. The scenarios are challenging enough to keep you working hard to win each battle, but not so difficult that you don't want to fight.

I love the vintage aesthetic because it takes me back to my childhood, and the music is well done. The roguelike and randomly generated levels may not be for everyone, but I do like that it keeps things fresh and interesting every time you play. The touch screen controls do need a bit more work before they feel streamlined for a touch interface, though, so hopefully that is coming sooner rather than later. I do recommend Meganoid(2017) if you enjoy tough roguelike platformer games.

While I was not a fan of the freemium mechanic, you can't beat an app that's free to play. Just keep in mind that you may only be able to play this game once every few hours unless you want to spend the cash to play more often.

The thing I love about this game, aside from the awesome vintage graphics and soundtrack, is the fact that there are no in-app purchases to be found. The game is just purely a beat-em-up with responsive controls and is a joy to play.
