Some classics are better left untouched. Although it is nice to be reminded of the Amiga era, the audiovisual translation into the present is rather disappointing and stays miles behind games like Rayman Origins.

Etherium shows a lot of potential but lacks inspiration. The three factions don’t play diversely enough, base building is rudimentary at best.

This surely is a pre-release version with content to be added? It isn’t? But why? No tourneys? No career in any form? No elaborate online options? This is essentially gorgeous and easily accessible arcade tennis that has serious content issues.

This adventure shows some conceptually interesting ideas, but the lack of detail and atmosphere saps the motivation right out of you.

Spiders Studio drew a lot of inspiration from almost every role playing game that was a hit over the last five years. But in the end it falls short in every aspect, although it shows a lot of potential.

Albeit improved, this masked martial arts adventure still is too short and too barebones.

A solid rally experience with a tremendous amount of content. But mediocre driving physics and Milestone’s trademark mediocre engine step hard on the breaks.

Entertaining, but short-lived action that merges Hotline Miami with action roleplaying basics.

It feels unfinished and technically unstable. While the core mechanics are spot on and motivating they are held back by technical shortcomings.

Yes, it is ugly and technically faulty. But it orchestrates a complex WWII with an immense strategic depth.

Shay Cormac is the most mature character of the franchise. His motives are believable, his destiny comprehensible. The team draws a vivid picture of the former antagonists – but the recycled mechanics lack this depth even more with this ending to the North America trilogy.

Up to now Wario brought a hefty dose of madness to the minigames table. But like the rabbids he was tamed.

Even though the world seems alive and the characters are quite charming, the work as a sleuth doesn’t feel methodologically sound.

While the art design truly captures the manga/anime source, the mechanics never really stand out and try to accommodate fans of beat-em-up, musou and 3d-brawling - all at the same time.

Short and minimalistic arcade-snack that shows its entertainment value mainly in a party situation.

It might lack horror and scares, but the hike through the mountains delivers tense moments, even though the performance on the PS4 is less then stellar.

The visuals deliver but the fighting mechanics leave a lot to be desired, while the content side of the fighting pocket monsters falls flat.

Minimum’s Titan mode feels fresh. The skirmishes based on protecting the giant deliver great dynamics on the battle field. Which makes it even worse that Minimum is plagued by poor balancing, bugs and connection problems.

Too bad, that the weirdly beautiful creature design and bizarre gadgetry is going to waste. After an initial fascination Smoke and Sacrifice gets dragged down by redundant resource collections.

Thankfully the shaky framerate and the meager content with focus on DLC and track recycling are not exemplary for Vita games. Ridge Racer disappoints on the new platform, although soundtrack and car handling are top notch.

Stylistically this rogue-like/dungeon-crawler-mix is interesting, but the mechanics are too basic to keep you captivated over a longer period – even if you play together with three friends.

Almost seven years passed since Dead or Alive 4 – a long time in which beat'em ups progressed quite a bit. This progressed seems to have passed by Team Ninja. A little more action, a little less counter attack. The unique fighting system still is tremendously motivating and delivers. But that aside this T & A show doesn't have much too offer.
