Featuring everything from immersive environments to an expansive campaign, AXL: Full Boost is a game that is well worth checking out.

I'd have liked to have seen some form of story mode that brought more purpose to the levels or a selection of difficulty levels, but as it stands, Ninja Ranch! still provides a sufficient amount of fun.

The problem with Platoonz is that moving soldiers forward, dodging enemy traps and bombs, and then taping on enemies one by one as they are encountered can get tedious.

It's flashy and offers some great visual and audio feedback for just about every single action taken, and being able to manage a professional (fictitious) baseball team is just neat. Even for someone who's not really into America's Favorite Pastime.

When taken as a single-player card (cash) game with the potential for multiplayer in the future, Reiner Knizia's Money is definitely a game worth playing. It's much easier to learn than it first appears, and can be utterly absorbing if given the chance. It's no multiplayer tour-de-force, sure, but that doesn't mean it isn't still a heck of a lot of fun.

The game is artistically wonderful, the gameplay is creative yet not repetitive, and there's replay value for those who want it. I can't praise this fantastic indie platformer enough.

Cardinal Quest is a good snack for those looking for a quick roguelike experience, without expecting anything too deep.

Technical issues aside, The Amazing Spider-Man is still a very entertaining game. It captures the spirit of being able to swing from building to building admirably and there's a ton of places to explore. It's that rare treat of a fun movie tie in game.

This is a fantastic twin-stick shooter, both in its free and paid versions, and if you have any kind of love for the genre then it cannot be resisted.

This is a fine way to play a fine old game but to be clear, RayStorm is undeniably an old game.

The act of hitting an object that's careening towards the center of the screen isn't complex in any way, but it can be fun. Quite a bit of fun, actually. And the option to choose from three different difficulties makes it possible for players with a fairly wide range of skill levels to partake.

Even without the mysteriously absent staples, Dead Trigger is still a fun arcade-style zombie shooting romp. It's probably not going to make everyone happy (what game ever would?), but it certainly does a much better job than some of the competition.

EnigmOn 2 is a difficult puzzler that's not for those who get frustrated easily. The design isn't much to write home about and is minimalistic at best, but the complex riddles and integration of the iPhone's features makes it a unique and challenging game that's sure to keep players occupied for many hours.

Battlemass has its issues, like losing game progress when the app is closed and the lack of other players to play with, but the game is very entertaining and a wonderful strategic challenge.

Despite the control issues, The Mordis is a challenging puzzle game that's sure to please everyone from puzzle fanatics to casual gamers. It requires a sharp mind and a little bit of patience to master, making it a solid game worth downloading.

It's great to see original ideas such as this emerge on the App Store. While, once completed, replayability is quite limited, the experience will be strong enough that it's more than worth the $0.99 asking price.

Hours of gameplay might not be immediately pumped into Clockwork Brain but players will find themselves tempted to return on a regular basis.

With the expection of the hiding place problem, Dynamite Jack is a top notch game. Quality games like this don't pop up every day. This is one of those games I would recommend for all iPad owners, not just fans of this type of game.

Cthulhu Saves The World is a must-play for any RPG fans and fans of 16-bit games, who will get a kick out of its crazy story, humorous writing, loving parody of the genre, and even its challenge.

Spell Dash doesn't quite usurp SpellTower from its throne but it is a worthy alternative. One that proves fun in its own right. It's enjoyable to see high scores gained from one word, much like in Scrabble which will keep word fans keen to play for a while to come.

When Sluggo clicks it feels every bit as potentially time-sapping as Snake, such is the strength of the idea behind it. It's a shame, then, that the execution isn't quite up to the same standard.

Magic 2013 is one of the best iOS games I've played this year. Hands down.

Black Label may be dearer than Bug Princess 2, but it is the version to own of this beautiful, devastatingly addictive shmup.

Boom Brigade 2 is an interesting mash-up of defense and line-drawing, but it pulls it off with gusto. It's fun, easy to play, and has plenty of incentive to keep doing so thanks to all the bonus stages and un-lockable upgrades.

Rad Skater Apocalypse can indeed be entertaining in relatively small doses, but it ultimately falls flat due to way too much repetition and a somewhat painfully slow pace. Sometimes goofiness, retro aesthetics, and zombies just aren't enough

It's clear that StarRacing has a lot going for it. From the graphics and track design to the unique power-ups, the game has a lot of potential. However, there are a few kinks in the game that need polished to make this a five star experience.

Velocirapture doesn't have the addictive element that other Adult Swim/PikPok games like Monsters Ate My Condo or Chuck Darwin's Extinction Squad have, but for a summer pick-up-and-play title the good looks, great sounds and solid gameplay are worth the $.99.

While it doesn't reinvent the zombie wheel, it fits into our Postapocalyptic-obsessed public life and represents well.
