Yaniv is a great app that's easy to learn and fun to play. It's different from many of the popular games in the App Store, so be sure to check it out!

Warspace: Starship Duels is easy to learn, making it a good pick for people that enjoy lighter strategy games.

There are some things that I would like to see added on in the future, such as multiplayer and more bonuses, but the game is quite good as-is.

If you are up for dodging player cutouts and squeezing shots in just under the pipe, odds are you will find this game entertaining. Just do your best to avoid paying too close attention to the leaderboards, otherwise you will never be able to put the game down.

Ghost Trick is a charming and unique puzzle adventure experience, and I'm not sure there's anything else out there quite like it. It's certainly not the smoothest play (especially these days), but this remaster definitely adds enough shine to make it worth picking up on iOS.

This is all to say that if you want a way to play Alien: Isolation on a phone or tablet, it's hard to imagine a better end product than Feral Interactive's port of the title. I'm just not so sure this was a great kind of game to try and bring to the platform, as almost everything about it runs counter to how many folks (myself included) tend to engage in mobile play.

It's pitched just right at the casual market and is a great game to dive into. Who'd have thought something so simple could be so much fun?

For gamers who love an addictive, twitchy, hardcore challenge, and don't mind seeing huge swaths of time disappear, who have roommates and family members that don't mind hearing a steady stream of expletives and vain, empty threats, I can't recommend Bitless enough. It's just that good. Others might want to steer clear, however.

Recurse will never prove popular when played alone, but it comes into its own with a group of friends or while entertaining the kids. It's energetic and lively, and there really is nothing else like it for the iPad.

Super Bunny Breakout is worth checking out for those who like the Breakout formula, and want to see it tweaked with, and featuring bunnies instead of lifeless spheres. Good luck figuring out that energy mechanic, though, it's either terrible or benign!

Even for non-fans, Bruce Lee: Enter the Game is a stylish, if slight, action game in its own right. But as a mobile game tribute to a legend, it’s even better. It’s Jeet Kune Do on the go.

Dark and moderately disturbing, In Fear I Trust offers enough to keep one hanging off the edge of their seat.

It’s not an incredibly deep game, but Rolling Hero is lots of simple fun. It can be a great way to kill time in little bursts or more prolonged sessions, but there might not be much incentive to come back to it once everything is completed. Still, it’s certainly a fun distraction.

Frustrating, challenging and fun - Tower Balance is sure to put any players skills to the test as they strive to build the highest block tower possible!

And yet with all of these complaints I still find myself thoroughly enjoying Invader Hunter. It could certainly do with some adjustments, but it's the kind of loot-hunting/crafting that speaks to me.

It's a concept we've seen before, but Sparkle Unleashed is a solidly enjoyable orb shooting game.

For the most part, Risk on the iPad is a great value and a worthy representation of the franchise. It may not be as deep as its tabletop counterpart, but it's still very enjoyable and a great way to get newcomers hooked on the franchise.

Bonsai Slice brings samurai fantasies to life with augmented-reality swordplay.

At only 99c, it'd be silly not to buy RoboSockets. It offers a great new take on a tried and tested format. All I'd like to see added to it would be an Endless mode which would add some longevity to the title but a Time Attack mode goes some way to solving this.

If you're willing to tough it out, though, and if you want a deeper, more satisfying gaming experience than the next Doodle app, then you should play Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. It just might make a gamer out of you.

With its addictive challenge and interesting premise, Cubama is frantic screen-tapping fun.

An incredibly unique twist on the endless runner, adding an impeccable control scheme on top of beautiful graphics and addictive gameplay.

Raider Rush is an exceptionally tough but simple platformer. It might make you cry.

Zombie Gunner is a well-made game that will get players ready for both Halloween and the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

While Age of Defenders follows the typical path of a tower defense game, it offers one fundamental and potentially compelling difference: a focus on multiplayer gaming.

P.R.O.B.E. is a pretty cool puzzle game with some seriously frustrating (in a good way) puzzles for anyone looking to nail 100% across the board. The initial offerings are a little misleading as a significant portion of these levels act as extremely basic tutorials but things do pick up towards the haldway point. It’s just unfortunate that it all has to come to such an abrupt end so soon.

With a unique style and addictive gameplay, Totems offers a multiplayer strategy game where the goal is to conquer all the territories on the map.
