It's frustrating to see the controls form such a pivotal step backwards for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Other than that, it's a great way of playing a highly enjoyable game for a much lower price than through console means.

It's like any hack n slasher: too much will get dull but keep it to just the right level, and it's good, attractive fun.

From top to bottom, Warhammer Quest 2 is a disappointing game. Its combat feels old, its systems unremarkable, its visuals stilted, and its performance unstable. On top of this, the whole game plays extremely slowly, which just adds to the suffering of playing through it. Don’t bother with it.

A fresh take on the genre but also obtuse to master. The tutorial might explain all this but it's still quite a steep learning curve which may put some players off. It's worth pursuing, however, as it's an interesting take on a tried and tested formula.

Skullgirls is a flashy-looking game that is pretty miserable to actually play. It's combat feels a little too simple, and your success seems determined more by lucky Relic rewards than skill. Add to this the fact that this is a fighting game with no multiplayer component, and there's very little reason to actually pick Skullgirls up.

The puzzle genre is filled with games like Cyto but I think there is enough amoeba fun to be had that makes this game worth the small investment.

Block Rogue is all about the repetition, for better and for worse. While the game can be addictive as you try to figure out just what is going on, the game can eventually become quite droning.

In the end, I don't know who this game is for. The coming-of-age plot and cheap character designs might appeal to a kid, but a fair number of the puzzles would be too challenging for someone under ten.

It's an enjoyable, addictive and quirky experience which, in my opinion, lives up to the initial pre-release hype.

I really can't recommend Eco Punk enough. It's got a killer personality (literally), great controls, and the game itself is perfect for pick-up-and-play gaming.

Robbery Bob's learning curve is gradual, and while the level designs are not the most innovative, there are enough incentives to keep fans replaying, with lots of checkpoints and frequent instructions to make moving forward easy for the less committed. Robbery Bob is not the deepest stealth game on the App Store, but for the price it's definitely worth checking out for short burst of shifty fun.

Extreme Skater has a gradual learning curve and keeps it simple, while including lots of extras for more serious players to enjoy. It's not the most intense extreme sports game out there, but for a light summer diversion it's a very solid, well-priced choice.

Mad Cows' concept is not entirely original – it does skew very close to Angry Birds with some slight unit differences, its multiplayer is quite fun. Those who haven't yet had their fill of physics puzzlers might just enjoy this.

With 60 levels and 180 stars to gain, I suspect Wake the Cat will be a pretty long lasting experience. With its ridiculously cute exterior and an intelligent selection of puzzles, it should satisfy anyone looking for a quick puzzle fix.

Heroes in Time might trip up a little bit with the gameplay, but what's there is decent if nothing else. What's surprisingly pleasant is the way the story (of all things) starts to take hold, clichés and all.

Anyone who is a fan of running games will enjoy this game. It is similar to other games out there, but it has a few features and game mechanics that make it different. If other running games have become mundane and boring, then definitely consider purchasing Amazing Runner.

For those not sick of the running genre yet, Demolition Dash in both HD form for iPad and iPhone/iPod touch variations (the only difference between the two versions is price) is not a must-have by any means, but is interesting use of time. It doesn't stand with the best of the genre at all, though.
