A solid freemium game. It has simple controls, a cool, retro, aesthetic, and is easy to pick up and play. The in-game purchases aren't necessary and the ads aren't intrusive, so be sure to give it a try.

Archetype feels just incomplete. What is here is fun, albeit very generic, but there just isn't much here.

Offering a minimalist experience, Outworded is a fun if simple word search game.

Prince Penny is a charming, cute and decently entertaining experience. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of incentives to play the game, such as things to unlock, which detracts from the game's lasting appeal. That noted, it's still a good-looking, fun experience for iOS, and it's only a buck at that.

Defenders of Suntoria is a solid tower defense game, but it leans a little too much on freemium upgrades.

The retro-style 8-bit graphics fit perfectly with gameplay that is like some sort of psychedelic mutant version of Pong.

The key issue with Random Heroes is that in making the levels longer, Ravenous took out a lot of the replay value by just making the levels completion-based.

Motley Blocks doesn't quite offer that "just one more go" factor, as it's tricky stuff at times, but it is an interesting take on a tried and tested formula. Albeit, available at a rather pricey $2.99.

Coldfire Keep is perhaps only for those willing to stomach some old-school dungeon crawling, but they will dig it.

For an accelerometer based game, Alice's Fall works smoothly, but the sudden changes in direction and the seemingly random bonks on the head by books and the like will quickly drive you nuts.

So long as the curious don't download Little Masters expecting a rivalry with Gary Oak, and accept that it's a freemium game, they should still enjoy themselves. It's certainly not a major time-sink but it can make waiting more bearable in short bursts.

Arc War is an endless shooter with great overall art direction and a multitude of control options for players to choose from. There's just some questions over its “infinite" gameplay.

In my opinion, it's a bit of a mess, lacking any real tie in to the movie, or reality. It does have a great 80's inspired sound track, though, and that just about covers the price of admission for me.

Resynth is a decent puzzle game, but its musical elements are all pretty weak. The music is there and it's tied to the game's aesthetic, but at the end of the day, these elements don't change the fact that you're pushing blocks around the same way you might in dozens of other Sokoban-style games. As a result, there's no real reason to go out of your way to check out Resynth.

Card Wars is fantastic up until the free-to-play aspects become apparent, which is a problem in a game that has an up front cost.
