The physics are a bit unpredictable at first, but this is mostly because each track is so different from the last that is seems a whole new set of physics must be at play. jAggy Race is fun but it's certainly not for precision drivers.

Galaxy Run will likely please casual gamers looking for an addictive and challenging space runner. Sadly though, they may feel like they have to pay-to-play.

Wildagotchi does a good job emulating the virtual pets of the 90s, but it's primarily for nostalgia nuts.

If you're looking for a good time killer with great game play but aren't really interested in story, I would say that Avatar is worth a look. You can check it out for $6.99.

As a free to play game, the lack of structure isn't such a big problem, fortunately, but it does make the urge to buy extra nets with real money less so. Circus Atari is a game that players may find themselves enjoying for a brief while but it's doubtful that Doodle Jump and Tiny Wings will lose their position as the most enjoyable endless runners of this sort.

Is 8-Bit Jump an original title? Not even a little bit. But it's fun and challenging.

In space, no one can hear you... spell? Hexiled is a neat concept for a word scramble puzzle, but it doesn't go too far beyond the basic premise.

Moving the Match-3 genre to a 3D perspective, Stack Rabbit is fun but surprisingly tricky after a time.

From the makers of Papa Sangre comes a defense game that forces players to listen carefully; unless they want to hear the sound of zombies feasting on their flesh, that is.

Gameloft certainly deserves credit for trying to bring a free-to-play game of pro football to iOS, but it misses the mark in more than a few areas.

While it doesn't quite feel like a party, this is a snowboarding sim with quality controls and plenty of style.

While the game's structure and stance system make Kids vs. Goblins somewhat interesting, the overall lack of control is frustrating. Too much, it gives the sensation that I'm just here to watch the proceedings, not to actually interact, and in a strategy game, that lack of command makes this hard to recommend.

Even with all the content, for the current asking price it's difficult to recommend Gene Effect as something that will definitely be enjoyed. But as something peacefully simple but exceptionally pretty, Gene Effect will be right up the alley of many an iOS gamer.

Whether gamers are big fans of the series or trivia buffs, it's a hilarious freemium game packed with enough content to satisfy most players, just don't expect it to be as great or as long as previous versions.

A minor problem that I noticed was that it's too easy to accidentally hit the "Talk to us!"/"News" button when trying to tap "Remove Adverts." Those three buttons are just too close to each other.

I had reasonably high hopes for Area 51 Defense, due in mo small part to the drool-inducing visuals, but the experience has dashed them to pieces. It's not a terrible tower defense game, but it's hard to recommend over the glut of other more user-friendly and downright enjoyable titles out there. Plus it kind of falters right out of the gate since it's so ridiculously similar to Epic War TD, which is free right now.

Powder Monkey is a well polished RPG that is fun to play, looks great, and doesn't get bogged down with complex battle systems or an incomprehensible plot. The gameplay is simple and the game looks great.

Setting aside the spotty voice work and choppy animations, The Journey Down: Chapter One is still an adventure worth taking. It doesn't trump work from Telltale or Lucasarts, but with a little more refinement it could sit comfortably at the table with them.
