Live out the life of a Regency-era lady in this deep and thoughtful choose-your-own adventure game.

Node.Hack is an inventive take on that Pac-Man style of maze gameplay, which pleasantly surprised me. There's some challenging fun to be had here.

Having gone through a lot of word games on iOS, I think the best compliment I can pay Letterbox is that it does something unique and that the something unique in question isn't just a gimmick.

Immensely satisfying for fans of the genre.

So while I can't recommend it for iPhones as it is, I definitely recommend checking it out on iPad. If you liked Bit.Trip Beat but wished there were more mazes (and less beats) in it, Cosmica is the game for you.

Some ridiculously frustrating camera issues aside, Cubic Castles is a pretty neat, voxel-based crafting game that sports serious future potential.

A peaceful, zen-like calm often overtook me as I weaved in and out of the curtains of flaming death that the level-ending bosses would send my way. CAVE has put together one hell of a gateway drug here.

Metro Ski Challenge really is one of the strangest experiences that I've had in the App Store. The game is pretty fun (it could use a bit more variety) and everything looks clean and polished, but I just can't help but to expect this all to be part of a big Orbitz ad campaign. Let me know if you get the same feeling.

Shaking the iPhone around to move the red balls around quickly, while trying to pin down ticking time bombs at the same time takes a good amount of concentration. It also looks pretty silly. This probably isn't a game many gamers will want to play while waiting in line or on the train. That said, it's a lot of fun and the various game modes make the simple game much more interesting in the long run.

Even setting the control issues aside, I think this game is more one for the genre fans than anyone else, but there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

Tiny Aliens is a fun and easy to play physics based puzzle game. It creates a very fun atmosphere with its graphics and sounds, and offers a few interesting mechanics and obstacles. The 70 levels are definitely worth the $0.99 price tag.

JYDGE is a fine dual stick shooter that can challenge you for hours. The only real problem is that its challenges grow repetitive extremely quickly. There is something satisfying about upgrading your character to your liking to take on these repeated objectives, but it’s just not as interesting as other concepts that have been used in 10tons other (and better) dual stick shooters.

Kiwanuka takes a radical approach to how it is structured, but is it still worth checking out?

RobotRiot's a bit refreshing when many other platformers are going to the hyper-short route, and the level design that extends out vertically as well as horizontally is well-done as well. It feels a bit stiff at times, but is a solid experience overall.

Apart from some dodgy found control methods I think could do with some slight refining, Ridge Racer Accelerated is the Ridge Racer we all know, now on iPhone and iPod touch. A must for original fans of the franchise, and with future updates to the title slated to be bringing up to 40+ more courses and 60+ more machines free of charge, Ridge Racer Accelerated could be set to make its own mark on the App Store crowd.

A fun physics based game with a quick learning curve, interesting scenes, good music and sound effects, and can potentially have a massive amount of levels once all the themes are created and if the gamer is willing to pay for them.

I highly recommend Miner 2049er as both a nostalgic experience and as a just plain fun iOS game. The free content runs out pretty fast (only 4 levels are available), but it's fun while it lasts.

I undoubtedly had fun playing Slice the Ice, but the whole ordeal was over much sooner than I would've liked and an extremely large portion of the content is closed off. Although replaying each of the initial 20 levels for a "Perfect" is certainly still an option so long as one can get past the jerkiness.

Gamers who are fans of the show and have some patience won't mind waiting or spending a little cash, especially since it's possible to play with other preppers. Others may find the game to be a little mundane and repetitive.

At the low price of $0.99, it makes for an ideal commuting game that's easy to drop in to and see results fast, especially for those in need of something different from the feathered bird variety.
