    It's significantly more difficult than Resurrection to gain a good score and relies on a good knowledge of enemy patterns and levels. This might put some newer gamers off and anyone new to the series would probably be better of starting with the other game, but for Bullet Hell veterans, Blissful Death might be just the challenge they need.

    DoDonPachi Blissful Death is a great vertical shooter, one of the best on the App Store. It lacks the variety of DoDonPachi Resurrection, but still delivers a solid, hardcore gameplay.

    Another bullet-dodging thrill ride from the king of crazy shmups. But as a straight port of a 2002 arcade game, it doesn't feel as fresh as its Cave cohorts.

    It's a great game, and all bullet hell fans owe it to themselves to pick this up. The sheer detail of the sprite graphics, crazy over the top weapons and explosions, combined with the usual techno/classic/rock music mix, ensures a shooter experience that only CAVE can offer.

    DoDonPachi Blissful Death takes you a few years in to the past before the events of Resurrection and puts you in control of the 'dolls' you'll eventually need to destroy; as such it's just as frantic and energetic as the series ever gets and a solid release from bullet-hell developer CAVE.

    It really is just what you would expect - another solid Cave release. However, as good as all of their ports are, I can't help but wish that Cave would come up with another built-for-iOS experience like Bug Panic!

    DoDonPachi's futuristic sci-fi setting isn't inspired in itself, but everything from the portraits of the cyber-dolls (uh?) that control your ship to the the elaborate bosses look fantastic.
