There is absolutely no reason for any iOS user with consistent access to an internet connection to miss out on Lords. It is, for all intents and purposes, the next stage in menu-driven free-to-play evolution. It can be tough to learn the ropes, but it's ever so rewarding.

Kick the Buddy Episodes is a simple concept but a fun one. At a time of year when we're all encouraged to be so festive yet are consistently stressed out, it's a fun way to take a break. I do question its longevity over time though, something that could have been solved by adding a few simple aims and objectives.

This game has a lot going on and lots of it gives Space Tripper its unique flavor. However, the game's controls and its difficulty don't mesh well and make it very hard to enjoy all of its finer points. Combine that with what is fairly high price tag for an app of this type, players may want to think seriously before adding this to their collection.

I'm a sucker for character customization so I really liked messing around with the outfits (I settled on a kind of hipster office worker rendition of Jason Voorhees wielding a battle axe). The combat is a tad simple, but it's interesting to try and predict the other user's moves before the match even starts. And blocking a really nasty attack always satisfies. As does unlocking new gear.
