Sep 1, 2021Solar Power is Lorde's Album of Healing. It transcends you into this summer world of peace that you might have nostalgia for in this pandemic. Overall her return to nature after her teen angst and sonical trauma shows her power. And she says, "but you gotta want it for yourself".
-
Aug 31, 2021Not the best album but there's a couple good tracks. I didn't feel that excitement of the past albums. I'm kinda disappointed.
-
Aug 31, 2021This is so disappointing, boring, without music without voice, flat. Where’s the spectacular voice of lorde????
-
Aug 31, 2021too pale and the same. I think the last productions of athonoff kinda brind the same energy in every single song
-
Aug 31, 2021much better than people are saying it is. this album will age magically unlike a lot of what is being released these days
-
Aug 31, 2021amazing album, lorde had nothing to prove to us, she could do the trending sad album like a melodrama 2.0, but she followed her plan, she did what she wanted to do, not what we wanted for her to do.

Aug 31, 2021It's different, still it's Lorde. It takes time to appreciate it but once you do, it's addictive. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's not good.
-
-
Aug 30, 2021I was very disappointed in this album. I expected something better. Dont start with the “she’s happier now” or “you said that with melodrama”, thats not what I mean by better. I meant better. The album seems anticlimactic, all the songs have the same boring energy. Only good song is mood ring.

-
Aug 30, 2021Boring, hardly any shining moments. I was not a fan of this direction. I wish that there had been more energy and less holistic healing ritual.
-
-
Aug 30, 2021yall are just mad she is finally happy, yall just wanted melodrama 2 and this is a way decent album

Aug 29, 2021An album that, like Melodrama, could have thrown the listener on the bed, but allowed only to relax.
-
Aug 29, 2021At best, cohesive. At worst, repetitive. Jack Antonoff’s hazy guitar is present on almost every song on this album, to the point where tracks begin to blend together. It doesn’t sound bad, but many tracks are plain and unremarkable. Slightly disappointed knowing what Lorde can do, especially with a lot of time.
-
-
Aug 20, 2021The album was very underwhelming after such a masterpiece like Melodrama. It would’ve been less upsetting if she released it earlier so people wouldn’t have raised expectations to a high level. Cute beach album but that’s all.

Aug 27, 2021Not her best, but is still very good. Some songs are amazing - secrets, mood ring - but others just don't have anything special.

Aug 26, 2021Unambitious and disappointing. While there are a few alright songs, the last half really loses the album's momentum. If this was released by any other artist, it would be completely unremarkable.

Aug 26, 2021The album encaptulate the whole young adult life and experience. Lorde is the kind of artist that narrates story based on life experience and she is now a 24 yr old woman who have real struggles in life. She's not 19 and on fire anymore. People need to move on and stop expecting a melodrama 2.0
-
Aug 26, 2021As a Real fan of her first 2 albums I had hopes for this release. Unfortunately it is slow, drawn out and generally dull. She’ll be back. I have faith! But give this one a miss.
-
Aug 26, 2021Doesn't top Melodrama but it doesn't feel like it's trying to, it's a perfect summer record. My only complaint is that quite a few of the songs have a similar sound I wish she'd have switched some of them up a bit while still keeping that same mellow tone. Still amazing. Highlights for me are Fallen Fruit, Big Star and Stoned at the Nail Salon.
-
Aug 25, 2021Solar Power lacks energy and the strong personality Lorde showed us in her previous body of work, "Melodrama". What actually saves this work is Jack Antonoff's work that is great, as always.
-
Aug 25, 2021A beautiful album with a new sound. Cohesively beautiful. Comparing to melodrama solar power isn't as good some might say but the album in itself is amazing. Lyrically matured and beautiful. Oceanic feeling is one of the best songs on the album along with mood ring, the path and secrets from a girl.

Aug 20, 2021Like any Lorde music, give yourself time to let this album sink in. It is a masterpiece!
-
Aug 20, 2021People wanting a melodrama pt 2 won’t like this album. Between the lyrics, the subdued yet powerful production, and her masterful way of creating a feeling from music, this album is one of the best of the year.
-

Aug 24, 2021Terrible album. We wanted music and not long, boring narrations. Folklore and evermore are 1000 times better than this album whose no song is up to the mark. I can barely reach the end of a song without feeling bored. Thanks for wasting my time.
-
Aug 24, 2021Whatever California and Big Star are the best tracks of this brilliant album.
-
Aug 24, 2021Not even as close as Melodrama. I’m so sorry but my expectations were higher. Flop.
-
Aug 23, 2021A nice companion for your quarter life crisis. Welcome to sadness! You'll be alright!
-
Aug 23, 2021A true masterpiece. She’s making music people can connect with, music that makes you transcend. Lorde’s mainstream days are over, and the evolution show in this album shows how much more she has to give then being confined to a radio formula.
-
Aug 23, 2021I didn't like it much, I expected more. The songs are similar and tiresome.
-
Aug 23, 2021Please stop, gays. Stop pretending this is a good album, it is not. It sounds so boring, and you trying to excuse this mess saying "this is not melodrama 2.0" yeah melodrama wasn't PH 2.0 and we still love it.
I'm truly disappointed, I was so excited about the tour and the era, but now I think I'm just gonna think SP doesn't exist and we only have PH and Melo. -
Aug 23, 2021It's a super complete album it has happy songs, personal songs and really sad songs, and I don't understand people who didn't like it, by far mi favorite album released this year.

Aug 23, 2021Lorde shows so much maturity with this album, the slowing down of tempo is refreshing to hear after such a turbulent year. The guitars and vocal harmonies are beautifully synced. Lyrically she speaks to the fears of an anxious millennial but then reminds us it is all going to be ok.
-
Aug 23, 2021she caught the worst sound she could make after of melodrama, since this new album is all white and boring sounds
-
-
Aug 23, 2021So good, like I don’t have much more to say. It resonates with me in so many levels. Masterpiece.
-
Aug 20, 2021Amazing comebak. Artist who innovates, those who expected a Melodrama 2.0 can leave.
-
Aug 20, 2021Lorde really acknowledges the reinvention, this album is a work of art. Unlike Melodrama and Pure Heroine this is a more laid back and mature album, she knows re-invention and is amazing How can you talk about issues that happen to you or have ever happened to you, 10/10
-

Aug 22, 2021The growth when it comes to lyricism is just WOW. Perfectly produced by Jack Antonoff and in the future, i bet the skeptical critics in the future will consider this one a ahead of its time masterpiece!

Merece muita visibilidade
-
Aug 22, 2021This is an amazing body of work, coming from the amazing melodrama this is a growth in the right direction
-
Aug 20, 2021This album is perfect, it is the perfect summer that we all wish in our lives, once again Lorde surprises us with a cohesive, unexpected and beautiful album, she is the future of music
-
Aug 22, 2021This is definitely her best album to date. Her vocals, melodic and lyrical choices has improved dramatically. Such a breath of fresh air.
-
Aug 22, 2021I'm completely in love with this album. Lorde did an amazing job, the lyrics are softly and relaxing. I felt like I was on the beach in New Zealand when I listened the album for the first time.

Aug 22, 2021Captures the immense beauty of the beach with this album. Listening to this album makes me carefree and happy and spend my days laying down on the sands of the beach and living with nature.
-
Aug 20, 2021while much of the album feels underdeveloped, offering musical ideas not fully explored or demo-like recording, Lorde’s gripping vocal and lyrical performance are at their peak, making for an engaging listen.
-

Aug 22, 2021It's almost like Lorde didn't even want to make an album. Extremely disappointing, it's not even debatable I don't feel that this is in every way inferior to her previous 2 masterpieces.
-
Aug 22, 2021It is different from what I expected (and I was really hoping from something sounding like Pure Heroine or Melodrama), but this album shows evolution, versatility and growth. It helped me chill out and just seize the day.
-

Aug 22, 2021To get started, as a fan Lorde, I must admit that I was not expecting this kind of album at all, although I am really glad she created It because I think It is so cool when an artist does different music! Plus, I love the chill vibe the record has. My favourite song is «Fallen fruit»! :)

-
Aug 22, 2021So fresh, so new, so good. Lord always win, wait and see........................
-
Aug 22, 2021Lorde song feels like you are being teleported in an island at the same time at the comfort of your home. It is nice to hear her song while watching the sun from sunrise to sunset. This is a new step for lorde to open a lot of avenues in terms of genre.
-
Aug 22, 2021You may be disappointed if you expected melodrama 2.0, but that doesn't mean this is not an amazing album. It's her most more mature and relaxed era and even though there are a couple of weak tracks, overall the album is quite an experience. If you just want heartache bops then go listen to Melodrama instead of criticizing this masterpiece.
-
Aug 22, 2021Beautiful sweet melody that im always played everyday! Its like a therapy for me.. Thanks Lorde!

Awards & Rankings
-
Aug 30, 2021All these connections Lorde is trying to make: her strange pastiche imagination of the ’70s, that random spoken word interlude by Robyn about climate change, and the themes of “sun healing,” never fully reach each other. Often, they come off as disingenuous and out of touch more than they read as brilliant, or comical. Whether the album is one big prank, or just one majorly failed experiment, the gist of having the “privilege to ignore” is lost in translation. All you are left with is just a handful of pretty alright songs.
-
Aug 26, 2021If you're riding and vibing with Lorde, this bright shapelessness is superb mood music. If you're not riding her wave, Solar Power can seem elusive, even cloying, as it circles and sways with a smile.
-
Aug 26, 2021This might not be the album that everyone wanted from Lorde, but it’s a solid, dreamy effort that deserves exploration. There’s plenty here worthy of attention if you can focus for long enough.
