Getting her powers again from the hate and bad criticisms of her past album, Perry really got back her smile by telling us a story through the 12 tracks from the album. She was true about being resilient and loved. Giving us her another inspirational and empowering feels with the maturity and the authenticity of being Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson . Katy Perry deserves a perfect score of 10. Expand

Smile has no skips and is her best album yet. The critics giving the album 20/100 are obviously doing it because they like the attention.

¡El álbum es impecable! Verdaderos sonidos pop que son muy agradables al oír y las letras son muy buenas, me atrevo a decir uno de los mejores álbumes del 2020, aunque castigada por la critica, pero amada por el público.

Smile was clearly created to tell an empowering story of Katy, as she fought her demons and went through a devastating depression. But instead of pity herself, she shares an optimistic point of view where, no matter how low you (or her) are, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
As we are in the middle of a pandemic, and we still have a long way ahead, I’m glad Katy decided to deliver this fun, dance and empowering album so we can forget for almost 50 minutes how devastating 2020 is, and just dance with our Teary Eyes.

Great album, I think it’s a different sound. Some people saying it’s similar to past albums but I don’t think she’s had this modern dance sound before. I love the message this album carry’s and I think a lot of critic have been overly unfair on this. Album is full off hope and perfect for the time.

Smile perfectly encapsulates Katy's own story of pain, resilience and growth. Amidst isolation, agony, anxiety and divisiveness, Smile's timing is perfectly right. It showcases her vocal prowess and her ability to turn her own pain and recovery into a collection of empowering anthems that resonate well with a lot of her listeners and the general public.

Katy Perry deserves nothing but love and respect!

This is such an amazing album. Some songs are real bops, like Not the End of the world and Cry About it Later, which has the best production after Never Really Over. Only Love and What Makes a Woman are the est ballads.

I mean, Katy Perry gave us an album and promoted during a pandemic and while being pregnant.

The album is truly one of the finest released this year. Katy Perry has really achieved pop perfection again with this album. I don't know why the critics are targeting it but I can't agree with their review for the album. The songs feel personal and for someone who as been through as much stuff as Katy, it really feels like a deep dive into her emotions during her post-witness era. Katy Perry's fifth album left us nothing but a Smile on our faces. I think this is her best album since she told us that it is a combination of Teenage Dream and Prism. Amidst the pandemic that we are facing, Katy delivered us a bundle of joy. This is one of the best thing that happened this year.

Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
