Katy Perry really did her best to give us the best music during the epidemic. The layers transmitting from songs to songs are very cohesive with the feeling from healing to the reborn with her love and smile back. Some critics just hate her for no reasons comparing with her past records and even other females. Those are nonsense and pointless. Absolute pop perfection! This album explores the many facets of pop music, from the inspirational, to the melancholy to the romance, all crafted with sleek production, strong melodies and decent lyrics. If you want straight-forward, catchy and compelling pop music, you have arrived!

Perry finally finds her smile again after struggling with depression for years. This album is full of catchy songs with very deep and meaningful lyrics.

The first 3 tracks (NRO, CAIL, TE) flow with each others PERFECTLY, lyrics are kinda repetitive in both Teary Eyes and CAIL but I’m not that mad about it.

I’ve never been a fan of Daisies. Resilient is placed perfectly, I love the lyrics and the overall production though it has nothing special. NTEOTW is a hit song material, a chart topper to say the least.. I think it should be pushed

NTEOTW is a hit song material, a chart topper to say the least.. I think it should be pushed as a single. Smile is awful, the only skip on the album. Champagne Problems’ production is so pleasing, I LOVE the verses and the bridge.

Tucked is one of my faves on the album. Harleys in Hawaii not being pushed and promoted is a case of the FBI because its probably one of the best songs in her career. Only Love is such a good ballad-mid tempo song, I don’t get the hate. What Makes A Woman is an ok ballad, I wasn’t expecting something special, should’ve never been released earlier.. such a dumb move.

This album is completely amazing! I don't know what it has bad critics. Well, don't read them because all what they say it's a lie. This album is marvelous and magnificent from Never Really Over to What Makes a Woman. 0 skips. A lot of fun.

A lot of great music like Harleys in Hawaii, the album it's amazing but just because it's katy perry the critics are so mean with her, they say it's the same thing, every album, but I listened a new concept of katy perry with this and I love it

This album seems to be really inspired by prism and some people might think that because prism was a success she is just trying to stay relevant or something like that, but truly this album is just her trying to uplift her fans, to tell everyone that it's not the end of the world and that it's okay. So i just really think she deserves less hate, and the thing is that alot of it is just people thinking that she is craving attention or that she is not making something new so she is a boring artist. So overall i love it, i can definetly see myself feeling sad and listening to this album and then feeling better! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not the end of the world. Porque? Porque es la mas adecuada para los tiempos actuales por los cuales estamos afrontando. Definicion de Smile en una sola frase seria "un album de exitos" 10/10 Expand

The whole album is amazing! It's her signature, that's how you recognize her. I don't understand all the critics here, they're just unobjective. You cannot review an artist's album and talk about other singers, it's not constructive. I found this record very powerful, both in the lyrics and in beat. Chapeau Katy!

The best choice for this album was not to choose small talk, it is a trip to pop in the style of Katy Perry, playing the sounds of today, it manages to give us a happy album that speaks of personal self-improvement, Katy gives us her purest personality on the album. It feels like a little journey between Teenage Dream and Prism, but guided to the new theme of happiness and something new called Katy Perry's mature mind. And yes, SMILE has songs that we can play on the party and become anthems like Cry About It Later. Expand

Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
