    This album is amazing. It is filled with empowering lyrics and songs ‘I know there’s got to be rain if I want the rainbows’ Katy sings in “Resilient”. This is a step forward from her underperformed album “Witness” back in 2017. My favourite song is “Not The End Of The World” (especially at the moment) this album sounds like a very mature Katy.     Bops after bops. Short but sweet album. It’s crazy how it’s still cohesive despite the fact that each song almost has a different sound to follow the suitable intended vibe for each part of the overall storytelling throughout the album. Oh, and critics stay pressed.

Katy wrote this after going through the toughest time of her life - the Witness era, andI can’t believe how low we sank as a society and let this masterpiece quite literally flop. I believe Metacritic’s rating is completely unfair and maybe even biased? The album consists of 12 cohesive tracks that takes you through a journey from sadness to inner satisfaction, resilience, and happiness. Katy wrote this after going through the toughest time of her life - the Witness era, and although its a sparkling gem in her discography it failed to reach the success her previous albums achieved. This destroyed Katy. And it didn’t help that users on Twitter and other social media apps completely and unrightfully INVALIDATED her emotions.
    Katy wrote this album about her journey back to happiness and her old joyful self and you might think the days of disregarding her feelings are over - they’re not. And the “failure” of this album shows.
    It’s time for society to give Katy the respect she deserves.
    This album is just as good as Teenage Dream is but people didn’t recognize the fact because she doesn’t have candy on her boobs.

    Definitivamente éste álbum es una historia de depresión resumida, puedes sentir la tristeza de Katy, cada palabra, sin duda es el hermano de PRISM, madurez, letra auténtica, canciones bailables y que te dejan algo de que pensar. Sin duda es increíble. Y la estética de circo inspirada en Cher es increíble aunque prefiero el concepto original de los setentas

It has so many bops like Never Really Over, Cry About It Later, Harleys In Hawaii etc. This is an underrated masterpiece, it also makes you get a SMILE when you listen to the song ‘Smile’ it will make you happy … Expand

    Smile is one of Katy Perry's best albums, the lyrics are beautiful and exalt the topic of empowerment. It is definitely one of the best albums of 2020.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
