    The album is pop perfection, Selena really did a great gob! The production is excellent, the lyrics are so beautiful and powerful, Selena’s voice is unique and so special! This is her best album so far and I’m so happy for her! She created a piece of perfect pop music.

    Rare is a masterpiece & there are absolutely no bad songs on it, from Rare to Sweeter Place, each song has different sound. Selena has evolved, personally and professionally. It shows in her newest album, Rare!

    She had the opportunity to sing about overcoming her kidney transplant complications, mental health issues, and about how she finally found herself and her true identity in a more explicit and with more depth. Some of the songs are good, some are extensively "poppified" and some sound like plain fillers.

    Gomez experiments with different sounds but by also being consistent with the message all around which is about self-love, knowing your worth, and that its not going to be okay each time. She collabs with 6lack and kid cudi for interesting sounding songs that makes sense to the album. Selena gomez presents her best work till date. Rare.

    Overall her best body of work to date. A Cohesive and well executed pop album with all kinds of tracks. Very diverse and to be honest the fantastic lyrics and songwriting are just the icing on the cake.

    Selena Gomez can do no wrong when it comes to pop music. A lot of the songs follow the same minimalist alternative feeling as her 2016 single “Bad Liar,” which is a really great thing.

    Worth the 4 year wait! I love this album so much that I had a hard time ranking my favourites because each track in this masterpiece takes you from a mixture of multiple genres to another.

    Top 5 are Dance Again, Cut You Off, Rare, Lose You To Love Me and Fun :)

    I’ve never listened to an as boring album as rare. Most of the songs are skips and the only song that is close to be « good », Lose You To Love Me is still boring. Her voice sounds so bad, changed by the studio, maybe for its better ? anyway... a disappointment.

She has shown that she stands on her own and DOESN'T need to rely on anyone else to remain relevant. She is her own person in this industry and is willing to take risks and try new sounds. That speaks volumes about her character. Selena doesn’t care about a #1 but DESERVES it anyway. Lose You to Love Me remains the strongest track for me, but Crowded Room, A Sweeter Place, and Vulnerable are something special too. Oh, and listen to Ring if you want to hear something from her that you’ve never ever heard before. I love seeing all these different sides of someone people try so hard to paint as stagnant.     While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
