It’s a sonically magical journey throughout the the various eras, trials and tribulations of the past and present. Only leaving me wondering what could possible be next?!

I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan. I have been since her first album. But for me personally, Midnights didn't quite manage to make me feel what her past albums made me feel. But after how incredibly perfect Folklore and Evermore were, I think I just expected... more, from Midnights.

But after how incredibly perfect Folklore and Evermore were, I think I just expected... more, from Midnights.

The songs on Midnights don't feel as emotional or as lyrically-impressive as the songs on Folklore and Evermore were, and yet the songs on Midnights also don't feel as catchy or powerful as the songs from Taylor's albums before Folklore were. I'm sure that relistening to the album in the next few months will make me appreciate it more, but right now, it doesn't really feel like an upgrade over her past albums. And that's not necessarily a bad thing; after all, the standard of Midnights is still high. I just personally hoped for something stronger from her 10th studio album.

Just perfect. Poetic, fun, sad, happy, all of it. Taylor swift is one of the greatest artists of all time. No one can take her that.

such a well done and mature album, you can see that she's finally expressing her feelings naturally and not ashamed of that love to see how she's grown up

o álbum é ousado e diferente de tudo que Swift já fez e além disso é magnífico

Definitely one of her most mature albums, I am obsessed with the blend of genres within this body of work - all leading to a pop record. Cannot wait to see Ms. Taylor perform this in Portugal.

Midnights and Reputation had a baby and named it Midnights. I love it. It’s so mature, lyrics on point, you can hear Jack all over. Taylor Swift never fails to amaze me. What a power house!!

Absolutely amazing album. I can't pick a favorite because they are all so good. The production is so different for her but very creative and captivating. She's a lyrical genius as always. This album is very honest and vulnerable. I love it so much already.

For a Taylor Swift album, I’m honestly underwhelmed. It feels like it’s stuck in the world of folklore mixed with lover and things just sound off at times.

It is a good album but compared to her other albums this one doesn’t seem strong. I do hope it grows on me tho, I miss her 1989 and rep eras

El álbum es bastante bueno, pero cuando llegas a Karma se convierte en uno de los mejores álbumes creados por Taylor swift, por algo fue llamada la industria musical

Not different from her past records. Bad lyrics and also recycled production.

Expand

This album is such a fast grower once you take it all in calmly. At first, it can be overwhelming. There are 21 tracks and by the end, for me upon first listen, songs blurred together, becoming monotonous, but that is a very wrong impression of what the album is like. My advice is to take the time to listen to and appreciate each song individually. The majority of the production in theseThis album is such a fast grower once you take it all in calmly. At first, it can be overwhelming. There are 21 tracks and by the end, for me upon first listen, songs blurred together, becoming monotonous, but that is a very wrong impression of what the album is like. My advice is to take the time to listen to and appreciate each song individually. The majority of the production in these songs appears to lend itself to accompanying the lyrics more than ever. It's used to emphasize what is being sung to such detail... Once you stop to pay attention to its intricacies you discover a micro-world of wonders within the larger world that is the entire album.
This captures events and emotions throughout all her life. This is one of her most personal and introspective albums. Definitely her most daring. Bold, both emotionally and sonically. She shares her flaws, fears, regrets, and mistakes like she hasn't done in a long time or, maybe, never. And she does so in various aspects of her life and her persona, not just romantic relationships. Such raw openness through all the songs and on different topics other than love, she hasn't achieved, perhaps, since Debut. Debut was candor. This one is slightly jaded maturity, though. In that sense, it feels like she's returning to her narrative roots. Revisiting her past work in the last couple of years probably helped too. Her lyricism is actually more than fine too. This is pop. People can't expect "your touch brought forth an incandescent glow, tarnished but so grand" all the time. Now, sonically, this feels like she's coming back to pop stronger than ever because she's also benefiting of what she learnt with folkmore. I'd describe it as 1989 meets evermore with a bit of the best of rep and Lover sprinkled in. Dare I declare that it's her best pop album?. It's also quite her more experimental album too. There are some twists you won't expect.
In conclusion, Midnights is the culmination of her many years of musical learning and growth as a person. The 13 tracks of the standard version feel riskier, whereas the 7 extra tracks in the 3am version, plus Hits Different are more what's expected of good ol' Taylor Swift. All 21 songs are really good. It's a solid, cohesive album with a lot of replay value. Most choruses and melodies are really catchy.

My favorite tracks are vigilante **** mastermind,question...? ,snow on the beach. The track mastermind talks about that night in the Met Gala where she meets her King of her heart for the first time , The song midnight rain is about how she and tom hiddleston did not work out . This album is a collection of her darkest dreams and deepest insecurities. It is a product of her maturity, wrapped in electro-pop sounds that show how great the dynamic between Swift and Antonoff is.

Barebones production, bland vocals with melodies that build up to nowhere made this one of the most boring listens this year. Lyrically, there are some strong parts, but in general is a huge downgrade from Folklore, with corny cringey lyrics that remind you of 40-year-old white mom's instagram captions.

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
