    this album is so much more than i expected, Madame X is an experience, if you were still debating about giving it a listen this should be your sign, prepare yourself for something different, something new, something REAL! i urge any and all lovers of music to give this album a chance

    A musical masterpiece from the queen of pop. This album is a trip that mixes different genres providing a surprisingly good flow. The track produced with Mirwais are highlights but even the more poppy material works wonderfully.

    Her best album since Confessions. The songs are weird (in the best way) and experimental and exciting. It’s a mix of Music and American Life albums, a little of 90s Madonna with a dash of Latin flavor and world sounds.

After 3 (great) albums of mostly "radio friendly" fare, Madame X expands on the more exotic and daring themes from Madonna's past catalog (think Secret Garden, Shanti, Mer Girl, Isaac, Gang Bang) but with spectacular new twists & turns featuring on-brand existential lyricism, shimmering production, ethereal melodies and dynamic vocals. With not a bad song inClassic M to the next level. After 3 (great) albums of mostly "radio friendly" fare, Madame X expands on the more exotic and daring themes from Madonna's past catalog (think Secret Garden, Shanti, Mer Girl, Isaac, Gang Bang) but with spectacular new twists & turns featuring on-brand existential lyricism, shimmering production, ethereal melodies and dynamic vocals. With not a bad song in the bunch, this could in fact be the most immaculate album of her career. It's a musical adventure to be experienced start-to-finish, much like a Bjork album. But where Bjork channels the otherworldly, Madonna curates compelling sounds from all over planet Earth. As one navigates through this brand-new sonic world, at times it feels as if the old magically becomes new. Medellin is the new La Isla Bonita filtered through To Have and Not to Hold. The cinematic Looking for Mercy serves up powerhouse emotional vocals reminiscent of Live to Tell. Dark Ballet is a granddaughter of the American Life album, tripping on psychedelia. The sugarcoated, latin-inflected girl-group pop of Crazy sounds like a youthful J. Lo covering True Blue. The heartracing, entrancing I Don't Search I Find compresses Rescue Me & Waiting into a glittering new package. Madonna has always been sugar n' spice & everything but nice and she works her classic MO to maximum effect on Madame X. Don't even attempt to sit still through Batuka, Faz Gostoso, Come Alive or **** I'm Loca as your body will automatically start to sway to the irresistible rhythms. And hold onto your seat during God Control, a thrilling, wild disco ride embellished with a schoolgirl style rap (not to mention, an Enigma-esque choir) that makes Impressive Instant sound like Promise to Try. Employing an array of accents and languages, Madonna continues to function as the Meryl Streep of the music world. After having crooned in Sanskrit, Hebrew, Spanish, French, etc., she now adds Portuguese to her repertoire, which she phrases with astonishing agility. Atmosphere and ambiance abound: Future is tropical lounge music...from the moon. The haunting, hypnotic Killers Who Are Partying and Extreme Occident are like getting lost in a foreign bazaar and finding yourself in a gypsy bar.     I love this new work of Queen Madonna... the songs are taking a little bit of each culture of the World, and it sounds increíble. There are some songs that maybe must not be on the álbum, but it is a part of the worlwide songs. Fav songs: Crave, Faz Gostoso, God Control, Looking for Mercy, Crazy and **** Im Loca... maybe we Can put Im Alive and Medellín too.

    #MadameX  no es Ray Of Light pero esta lejos de ser el peor, es lo más atrevido desde American Life y eso, en estos días, donde se hacen pop fácil, me parece fantástico. Una Madonna que a sus 60 años se quiere seguir reinventando.

    Me parece una mezcla de ritmos muy brillante, canciones con poco común, con un mensaje interesante, un mundo con miles de posibilidades en un disco, es maravilloso el atrevimiento que tiene y la seguridad con la que transmite sus ideas.
    God Control es algo que nadie puede hacer en esta época, simplemente de otro nivel.

    Madonna's best album since Confessions in 2005. She managed to explore new genres and at the same time remained true to herself. An excellent album that shows that after lmost four decades in the industry, she can still reinvent herself and create beautiful muaic.

Um álbum que não veio seguir tendências ou disputar streamings, pois ela canta longe da zona de conforto e com os pés no chão, quando diz em português que o mundo é selvagem e o caminho é solitário. Solitário pois são poucos artistas com sua visibilidade dando voz a causas que precisam serem ouvidas. O cenário que ela descreveÉ Madonna em sua essência mais provocadora desde American Life. Um álbum que não veio seguir tendências ou disputar streamings, pois ela canta longe da zona de conforto e com os pés no chão, quando diz em português que o mundo é selvagem e o caminho é solitário. O cenário que ela descreve em God Control é assustadoramente o retrato de uma política global que vivemos aqui no brasil ou nos EUA.     Her best work since confessions and it’s a great pop album for 2019. Mirwais has done amazing job and Madonna plays her part greatly! If this album was Ariande’s it Swift’s then it would be applauded by the critics.

    One has to admire that after 14 studio albums and unprecedented success throughout her entire career, Madonna still refuses to rest on her laurels! Madame X is brilliant, breathtaking and ballsy!!! Favourite tracks (currently) are Killers Who Are Partying, Extreme Occident and of course God Control.

    Amazing album! Madonna is so creative and gave to us a pop album in a very good quality that no other pop artist can do. We listen to so many similar pop songs nowadays, but Madonna does what nobody can do: she puts art and creative on her music. One of her best 3 album for sure!!

It's not a commercial album, you cant expect a lot of sales from it and it won't be played on the radios... But travel through the years and stay as a true work of art. Madonna is still a lyrics genius that can blend modern rhythms with great classic composures and melodies, and her voiceA complete masterpiece for any taste.     I had to give this album a few listens to make up my mind. There are strange oddities in here that made me think about the score: Medellin is a headscratcher of a lead single, and Dark Ballet - a bit too experimental for my taste. But I still admire the creative force in both tracks. There are also oddities that do work, like God Control and Batuka. Then there are some lyrical moments thatI had to give this album a few listens to make up my mind. There are strange oddities in here that made me think about the score: Medellin is a headscratcher of a lead single, and Dark Ballet - a bit too experimental for my taste. But I still admire the creative force in both tracks. There are also oddities that do work, like God Control and Batuka. Then there are some lyrical moments that make me frown - especially in Extreme Occident and Killers Who Are Partying - but I can't deny the gorgeous melodies and instrumentation. And then there are a bunch of songs that are Madonna's best tracks in 20 years : I Don't Search I find, Crazy, Crave, Faz Gostoso are perfect pop tracks that deserve massive airplay. Because of this and the fact that it feels like a spontaneous intuitive record in an era of formulaic pop, and because it she is ahead of trends for the first time since 2000's Music - I have to give this a 10. It can be emotionally cold and chilling at times through the use of the various vocal effects, but when you do feel that way, it's definitely not unintentional. Madame X is like a trip inside an addicted society, it has highs, lows, recovery, and solutions. You will encounter a lot of unexpected, and to sayA for sure foray into the future, with help and insight from the past and present. It can be emotionally cold and chilling at times through the use of the various vocal effects, but when you do feel that way, it's definitely not unintentional. Madame X is like a trip inside an addicted society, it has highs, lows, recovery, and solutions. You will encounter a lot of unexpected, and to say the least unconventional musical arrangements within the album. As a personal note, my favorite work typically lies within the remix eps of the singles released after the album, and with Medellin, I Rise, and the soon to be released Crave remix Ep, I'm going be dancing, crying, and inspired for quite some time.… Expand

    After 2 months of listening to Madame X on repeat, I felt obliged to create a Metacritic account to proclaim what a great album this is! Many people (as we can see by the stupid critics' reviews) will not get it, but it is frankly speaking, a masterpiece! This is art in the purest sense. It's profound and transcendental. If you listen to the album from beginning to end, you willAfter 2 months of listening to Madame X on repeat, I felt obliged to create a Metacritic account to proclaim what a great album this is! Many people (as we can see by the stupid critics' reviews) will not get it, but it is frankly speaking, a masterpiece! This is art in the purest sense. It's profound and transcendental. If you listen to the album from beginning to end, you will understand! I admit I did not care for the promotional singles or roll out of this album at all; I was expecting the worst. But when I stayed up till midnight and God Control started playing, I knew I was in for a ride! The album just kept getting better and better! It's one of her best albums ever and I wish it would get the recognition it deserves! Yes, some of the lyrics are clunky but the message and the mood of the album is incredible! It's like nothing out there! If you're looking for something new, you must give Madame X a taste.     Great mix of Spanish, English and catchy beats.     Madame X de Madonna es un Album que mezcla varios géneros con la esencia Pop, es un Álbum que te hará viajar por distintos géneros e idiomas, Madonna quiso mostrar la música del mundo en su Álbum pero no estuvo del todo logrado, aunque es un buen Álbum el objetivo no estuvo 100% logrado.

    Experimental music is something that appears more and more nowadays. This is one of experimental masterpieces by a mainstream singer. As typical for Madonna, her style and image changes all the time, and this is one of very brave and really interesting changes.

    This album is very different for Madonna. She experimented with R&B, african influences and alot of Portugese. At first listen, it sounds weird, you won’t be used to it, but after time, it starts getting sense. She really experimented with tracks like Dark ballet, Batuka and God control. The album has political songs aswell, it discuss important Issues like gun control, ageism, humanThis album is very different for Madonna.     I love every song in it, every song is unique you can feel her voice and her feelings I'm songs like crazy, crave and God control, but most of all In looking for mercy and I rise that one is a love letter for the LGBT community, and I just love it, I want more of her music, the only queen of pop.

    Just a beautiful masterpiece last Madonna's 14th album..... The way she undress her soul and political thoughs, remains me albums as "Like a Prayer" or "American Life"!
    Truly gems included on it are "God Control", "I Rise" or "Crave"....

    Thank you, Madonna, for continuing to work tirelessly. Madame X was not made for the charts, much less for specialized critics. Only those who will be pleased with another work by the only Queen are those who know all about her vast and great career. Yeah!

    For any reasons Madonna is the queen of the Pop Music. Madame X is a very weird album, it's good but someone took bad desicions with the singles and music videos. Madonna show us how can be the perfect storm even when there are some much Pop Stars who take the cover of the digital media. Is not my favorite album but it's Okay.

    Disregarding the main single with Maluma (which I find crappy) the rest of the album is exceptional... Madonna delivers one of the most underrated albums of the year... She did show why she is the queen of reinvention... the album is a must listen

    Overall, Madonna’s fourteenth album Madame X feels as if Mirwais had mostly completed a decent run-of-the-mill modern pop record, albeit with a cool hotch-potch global feel; hip nods in place to fado, dub and other micro-genres dunked amongst the trap and retro disco. But then just before sign-off, Herself went through the top-lines with a sharpie. ... None of these carefully curated flourishes feel as if they truly live inside the ‘whole’ of this music. Instead it all feels plonked on top of a template.
