    A beautiful album that takes the listener on a journey through RM’s musical genius. Contains a pleasant variety of genres with multiple guest features that all add to the texture and flow of the tracks. It’s clear to see that RM really loves music and is thoughtful and exacting with his art. I gave it a few months before reviewing since I wanted to see if I was just caught up in the momentA beautiful album that takes the listener on a journey through RM’s musical genius. Contains a pleasant variety of genres with multiple guest features that all add to the texture and flow of the tracks. It’s clear to see that RM really loves music and is thoughtful and exacting with his art. I gave it a few months before reviewing since I wanted to see if I was just caught up in the moment when it released and if my positivity would wane over time. Indigo superó mis expectativas, es una obra de arte en todo el sentido de la palabra.     RM set out to create a work of art. I think he succeeded. My favorite songs on this album: Yun, All Day, Still Life, Closer, Wildflower, N.O. But really, why would you read an album review instead of listening to it yourself? The work speaks for itself.

    A coming of age musical adventure. This album is the perfect harmonious treasure box. Jazz, R&B, City Pop: You have it all. Even though the album can not be categorized into ONE musical genre, the seamless transitions from one song to the next demonstrates RM's prolific songwriting and producing abilities.

    Indigo is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. Every single featured artist brings a completely different flavour to the last.

    The lyrics are so very deep and touch on hard real emotions that connect with the listener. RM is a lyrical genius and I highly recommend this album.

    I’ve lived with Indigo for nearly five months and I’m now convinced I will never never never grow tired of it! I still change my favorite song every few days and am completely in love with all 10. I’ve taught literature for more than a decade and believe the lyrics are pure poetry. As Emily Dickinson said, “If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that isI’ve lived with Indigo for nearly five months and I’m now convinced I will never never never grow tired of it! I still change my favorite song every few days and am completely in love with all 10. I’ve taught literature for more than a decade and believe the lyrics are pure poetry. As Emily Dickinson said, “If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.” This is how I felt upon listening to RM’s Indigo the first time. Then I printed out the lyrics and translations and put them in a binder so I can scribble notes in the margins. As with all my favorite writers, the meaning changes with the seasons and with life. There are layers. I’ve cried to songs like No. 2 & Wildflower and belted out Lonely with my friend who lost her husband last year. It’s an incredibly hopeful album even as Namjoon never shies away from raw honesty as he looks at the pain he has experienced in his life. How can an album composed of 10 distinct genres be so cohesive?! Each song is so unique and perfect. The reason Indigo never gets old is that it’s sonically interesting. Nothing cliché is in this album; it’s full of surprises and ear worms. Indigo is best listened to volume up as high as possible as you speed down the interstate for hours. It’s a JOURNEY. It’s also your best friend when you have to do those mindless household chores. It makes you more creative when you cook a dinner from scratch with a good glass of red wine in hand. I’ve begun to divide my life into Indigo units of time. I walk 2 Indigos nearly every day— that is, I walk 32 minutes one way then turn around and walk 32 minutes back home. Instead of 10-15 minute sets of exercise or hooping I do a Change Pt.2 +Wildflower + No.2 or any combination of the songs. It is truly the soundtrack to my life and one of only a handful of albums that I feel this way about. (Tea for the Tillerman, Nick of Time, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme, Doo Wops & Hooligans, Songs in the Key of Life, Parachutes, & Eva Cassidy’s Songbird) Indigo will outlast them all for me. Finally, I want Kim Namjoon to know that, yes, I listen to Indigo when I drive, drink my coffee & take a walk. I listen to it when I take a shower, work on my computer, and when I sit in the sun reading a book. I do dance to it. And I have listened to it when flowers bloom or fall. Somehow I hope that I can send a message through the universe to poet & musician RM how very thankful I am for this gift of words and music.… Expand

    If you are looking for music that will feel your soul this album is for you. A mixture of Korean & English, the lyrics, beats and production all create a beautiful album of music, no Genre Van truly own this music and the artist takes us on a beautiful journey through a portion of his life and thinking.

    One the best albums of 2022 for me and I just keep going back to these songs! Every song has its own unique sound & charm and every collaborator alongside RM fits perfectly. The flow from beginning to the end is amazing too. Just a very relatable, enjoyable & emotion-filled album to suit my everyday moods.
