    Some people are saying "is basic and plane" just because it's not the bubblegum pop they're used to. The album is amazing. The lyrics, the production, Taylor's voice, definitely is one of the best records Taylor has made and, of course, one of the best records this year.

    This might be her magnum opus. This album is full of well-written words that combine into very meaningful lyrics matched with mesmerizing production. It is the definition of simplicity is beauty. The whole album sounds cohesive but each song has their own spice giving it a ense of individuality. I love it!

    One of her best albums, if not the best, lyrically. The vintage vibe it got makes me wanna travel back in time to the 1940s to live the little stories Taylor is telling in her album. Folklore is that old book on that forgotten shelf that has many things to say. Love the vibe anfthe feelings in it, it truly is a masterpiece. Taylor never disappoints me

    "Folklore" is like a wood-smoked flannel hug from a grandmother you never met. Breathe in and memories percolate. Campfires cooling in the rain. Street lights blinking in a 5 AM haze. Running through fields with no concept of time, only an eternal yearning. I didn't skip a single song in my 2 AM listening session last night. Thank you, Taylor.

Not that pop is inherently ‘bad‘ - just from personal opinion I believe Taylor really shines as a writer and performer in this landscape of acoustic-folk. Personal highlights of mine have to be mirrorball, exileAs soon as I saw the Bon Iver collab I knew I was going to be a fan of this album. I don’t think I could write this review without mentioning the genius lyrical blend of personal experience and told stories; including the often warping these stories suffer due to the amount they are told from person to person, giving the album its name - folklore. I cannot praise this album enough honestly. It is a career highlight from Taylor indeed.… Expand

I've been adapting to all the music genres she has done but let me tell you something: this album has become the best one she has ever done! It feels refreshing, calm, new, even cozy. I've been adapting to all the music genres she has done but let me tell you something: this album has become the best one she has ever done! It feels refreshing, calm, new, even cozy. The lyrics, the music, everything adds up to be the perfect balance between the 'old' and 'new' Taylor. The first listen of the album I was in tears from song 1. I then decided to look up for the lyrics (non english native speaker here) and the feels I first got from the song got even more deep and I cried again, now with a reason. Since she decided to post some photos on her social media with a black&white filter and some sepia tones we knew clearly that this album wouldn´t be as her previous works. Folklore let us know not only the most intimate projectSo this is it, when we thought this year was somehow lost by the pandemic, Taylor Swift, decided to pull out a masterpiece album call Folklore, her most mature one. Since she decided to post some photos on her social media with a black&white filter and some sepia tones we knew clearly that this album wouldn´t be as her previous works. Folklore let us know not only the most intimate project of Nils Sjöberg , but also the stories of some of her heroes. She demonstrate who good is as a lyricist in songs like "My Tears Ricochet" or "Hoax", but also let us remember how love can be described from different perspectives. Appreciation and respect are the only correct things to express when you try to describe how you feel about Folklore.

    beautiful songwriting. the lyrics are like poetry. i love the last great american dynasty, the storyline behind it is so interesting and the song is so catchy.

    These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
