Man she is my favorite artist but this album is SO BORING. I tried several times to listen to some of the songs and they were so boring I couldn't even get through them. every other album of hers has been great, this is a huge letdown. The only songs I like are The 1 and Peace.

It's really bad - sounds like offbrand indie. Almost the entire album is so forgettable, there's not a single identifiable feature that makes "good".
Only good songs are: exile (solely because the harmony is great), the 1 (has a few good lines) and august (there's a certain feel to it).
Cardigan sounds like someone used a neural net on a set of folk albums

I've been a huge fan of Taylor Swift since 2006, 2007 and I gotta say, the artistic, musical journey she's been on as an artist has been nothing but amazing. Her discography includes such a wide variety of genres, sounds, emotions, styles and she pulls off almost every one of the new directions she's tried.

Longevity, a highly successful one at that, for artists is the most important but difficult thing and only the greatest of artists keep going strong, keep innovating, keep developing and keep creating new artistic works even after more than a decade in the limelight.

Some of the greatest, current artists I consider in this category, for me, are Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West and, of course, Taylor Swift.

I strongly recommend the new album "folklore" to all who love music and anyone who loves to be moved by and touched by music.

    An absolute gem, it is.

The musical accompanimentation is hugely underwhelming. I dont care if this album was produced in Lockdown, with limited resources. It just sounds very bourgeois, uninspired and flat. Tailor should have worked with a producer like Daniel Lanois, somebody who is able to create a monumental musical body.

In contrast to reputation, 1989, and Lover, this album doesn't rely on heavy production or experimenting with synths and basslines, but rather just her guitar, her pen, and her voice. This isn't an album for casual listening, but one to pour yourself into, hanging on every syllable and being led through the story. Taylor's raw, emotional vocal performances sound beautiful against acoustic instruments and sparse drums. It feels balanced and whole.

It is boring and all the song seems the same, nothing innovator. This is a desperate effort to do something this quarantine

Taylor Swift has always been honest heartfelt artist writing stories and singing songs about life and all it's joys and heartbreaks Folklore is no different with it's collection of songs that shown she has grown as a artist

An unexpected but at the same time expected twist from pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Built around lulling percussion, alt-rock instrumentation and a country sensibility, Folklore is a showcase of Taylor's deft hand at songwriting, resulting in some of her most delicate and poetic work to date. Her quietly dazzling eighth record strips back to let her vocal delivery and wordplay shine on tracks like Peace and Illicit Affairs, which never seem slight despite theirBuilt around lulling percussion, alt-rock instrumentation and a country sensibility, Folklore is a showcase of Taylor's deft hand at songwriting, resulting in some of her most delicate and poetic work to date. Album highlight, Cardigan, is a lush piano-based confession which aches of longing and conviction. Expand

Brillante y perfecto.

This album was so unexpected but it's worth it. This is a stark contrast to 2019's Lover, which was good but can come over as saccharine. This album is very mature and shows the strength of Taylor's songwriting skills. It has shown artistic growth and evolution. Without doubt Album of the Year. Best songs are exile, illicit affairs and mad woman.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
