Simply one of the BEST albums ever. Phenomenal writing, soothing undertones, and each song is a puzzle piece - single chapters interlocking and interwoven together to form an intricate quilt of relatable collection of stories about experiences we all go through at one point in life. Love it. ❤

This album has a great touch of country music vibe but mixed in with some pop vibe, the lyrics gets my tears every time hearing this album, the lyrics here get really personal but still deep, still meaning full

The album is simply beautiful. I've got nO words just that folklore is arguably Taylor's best work yet, especially lyrically.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This album is a masterpiece from beginning to end. Taylor Swift showed that it is possible to be a great artist in three different musical genres, before Country and Pop, and now Alternative / Folk. In addition to its metaphorical lyrics, #folklore brings the point of view of three young people in relation to a love triangle, namely: Betty, James and Inês. You still doubt Taylor Swift’s ability to make art? Taylor is the music industry, she is always reinventing herself and delivering impeccable work, she really is a star that has always been on the rise. I love Taylor Swift. Expand

I used to love Taylor Swift. I bought two of her studio albums (Red and 1989). Her music has gotten progressively worse ever since she decided to stop being a country singer, but I still liked 1989. 1989 was her last album that I liked. This album is dreadfully boring and I don't understand its record-breaking commercial performance. People would rather buy this album than Lady Gaga'sI used to love Taylor Swift. How is this the best-reviewed studio album of her career? How does this album have a higher user score than her other ones? It was refreshing to hear Taylor drop the f-bomb though, and I agree with her political views. I'd rather listen to Red or 1989 again than listen to Folklore again. Expand

This album shows Taylor Swift's true talent again: songwriting and storytelling. The songs inspire you to think about the stories of the characters of the song, to connect them or even create your own stories. Truly inspiring.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
