    This album is a lyrical masterpiece. The amazing lines written by Swift and her co-workers are put together by awfully good production and use of instruments. The album doesn’t lack anything and surely is a highlight in songwriter’s career.

    Just realised I never actually wrote a review for folklore last year. On hindsight, I did not know just how successful folklore was going to be when it first came out. After winning ATOY and getting amazing critical reviews, it seems like album will be the pivot point of Taylor's career into universal acclaim.     a firm step out of Swift's comfort zone, this album is more than the revindication of Taylor. through beautifully written and deep lyricism, Swift takes us into a deep dive into her mind, painting a landscape of feelings and unknown yet familiar spaces that can't be ignored. the lack of ego is also helpful.

It absolutely deserves to win album of the year at the Grammys. It deserves all the critical and commercial succes!

    With folklore, Taylor Swift took a more lyrical path explored previously by Lover. The album, as the name suggests, is alt./indie folk, but it also explores on the alternative meaning of the word, it's an album filled with songs to pass down through generations like folk songs, as most of the songs are fiction and autobiographical just like how most folk songs' details get lost as it getsWith folklore, Taylor Swift took a more lyrical path explored previously by Lover. The album, as the name suggests, is alt./indie folk, but it also explores on the alternative meaning of the word, it's an album filled with songs to pass down through generations like folk songs, as most of the songs are fiction and autobiographical just like how most folk songs' details get lost as it gets passed down, which is something I found to be really fitting and brilliant as the album's title.
    The songwriting on this album is Taylor's best as she completely dives into her songwriting without her trying to have some radio hits, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

    One of the highlights of the album lyrically would be the last great American dynasty, in which she compares herself with a woman who used to live in her new house, as they're both notorious for throwing parties, being rich, and having a bad reputation. In my opinion that has to be one of the most interesting ideas, I have heard of in any song ever since her own smash hit, Blank Space.

    Another one would be mad woman where she takes inspiration from Lana Del Rey sonically, but she manages to still make it sound like herself. The song is an improved version of The Man as it explores themes revolving around feminism. It's way more complicated as it's about psychological and emotional abuse.

    My tears ricochet is the saddest song on the album and arguably the saddest song of the year. The lyrics are simply sad beautiful and tragic. It's from the perspective of a deceased individual as she watches over her lover.

    The production on the record is incredible, it's not overshadowing her lines, but rather they're complementary. That is not to say they are weak, in fact, when they take the spotlight (when she lets the music take over) they're always beautiful and fitting to the songs and don't feel forced.

    Overall it is an incredibly cohesive body of work. It has clever lyrics and sonically it feels so warm and welcoming to listen to.
    I think that even the bonus should've been included with the album as it has strong brilliant lyrics.    … Expand

    Though this album is unlike anything Taylor has ever done before, the tracks seven, mirrorball and illicit affairs appear to be more different than any other song on the album. Her vocal performance is better than ever, with the mellow and breathy voice she sings, this is most prominent in seven.

    If you love an album that has depth, beauty in lyrics, and unforgettable tunes, is cohesive (this is Taylor's most cohesive album, better than 1989 I'd say), is relatable, happy, sad, wistful, with elements of summer, fall, winter, spring, and monsoon, this is the album I'll recommend to you.     Amo a Taylor por muitos motivos, mas pricipalmente por ela ser incrivel em criar imagens na nossa cabeça com suas composições. E em Folklore ela faz isso de um jeito mais maduro e coeso do que nunca. Se um dia questionaram se ela é ou não uma grande compositora, esse album é a resposta. Ela merece estar onde está hoje.

    i wasn't really excited for this album at all since i never really cared about taylor's music but this is a masterpiece, everytime i listen to it again i have a different opinion about my favorite songs because it always gets better, "illicit affairs", "exile (ft. bon iver)" and "mirrorball" are my favorites at the moment. so proud of you, taylor!

    This album came out of nothing, like a secret project Taylor wanted everybody to forget as soon as it dropped. But forgetting we wont.

    This is already by far my favorite album of her; The storytelling, the stripped back instrumentals and that goddamn lyricism (on another level let me tell you) really made this one special.     What really fascinated me was that she has her own style in this new genre completely figured out. Her vocals dont sound that different from her pop songs, just minus all the effects. This is deeply original (except for some obvious inspirations like Sharon Van Etten).
    Every chorus is catchy and every song has at least some of those "oooh"-lyrics.

    Im sure even decades along people will talk of this record, creating its own myth and folklore.    … Expand

Faixas como The 1 e Cardigan tem acordes de piano mas ainda sim tem batidas folkie dignas de uma produção. Os vocais pesados de Bon Iver e a doce voz da Taylor se encontram e se complementam perfeitamente em Exile.

    Folklore is a monumental achievement. Swift has once again changed genres successfully and probes she is able to tell engrossing stories that are not based on her personal life.

    Taylor's voice in this part was so beautiful.
    Starting from the piano sound underneath with the feeling of opening the morning of the album
    Even vocals are generally calm.

    Simplesmente amei. Taylor nunca havia feito nada parecido e surpreendeu todo mundo com esse novo gênero, e posso dizer com certeza absoluta que o álbum todo é uma obra de arte. Com letras maduras e melodias suaves, cada música te leva a um lugar completamente novo e te prende a cada segundo. Um dos melhores álbuns que já escutei. Parabéns.

    Though i do believe taylor latest album (evermore) is a bit better she show the same skill and talented songwriting on this album with a few songs i found a little boring but over than that a good album overall.

    This also showcases her evolution as an artist getting better and better since lover.

    With folklore Taylor dared to do something brand new. No promo, no songs for masses, it‘s just her showing the world her writing and storytelling skills and her range. She outdid herself with this one. By far Taylors best album.

    These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
