Mother always said that if you couldn’t say something nice about someone or something don’t say anything, but I didn’t always take mother’s advice.

“While We’re Young” took 93 minutes of my life that I will never get back! It immediately goes to the top of my list of worst films of 2015, possibly of the last decade!

In case you didn’t know it all guys in their twenties are scam artists, dishonest and unethical while all men in their forties are new fathers and/or are losers while all old men are intellectuals, celebrated, authoritative, honest and believes in the truth.

The movie is categorized as a comedy and, yet, there is not one laugh in the movie. Do you find 15 minutes of people vomiting funny? How about people on a bad ‘trip’?

I will spare the actors except I will say that after seeing her in 5-6 movies I will avoid seeing Amanda Seyfried in future ones and after the last 3 movies I saw Adam Driver he, too, will be avoided.

Charles Grodin tells Ben Stiller at one point that the latter’s film is, “a six and a half hour film that is seven hours too long” and that applies to “While We’re Young” which is 93 minutes and seems 7 hours too long!

Ridiculously pretentious and unfunny film with no likable characters It starts out trying (and failing) be a goofy comedy and halfway through decides it is going to be a serious probe into, yes, the ethics of documentary filmmaking.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To see the critics rating of this movie tells me that Ben Stiller is flavor of the month and they will do anything to kiss his rear end. The last good movie he was in was "Dodgeball." This piece of cinematic drivel is any bad Stiller movie to add to the list. Watts sleepwalks through her role and the two younger main actors can't. When throwing up is one of your main plot points, its time to rethink your script. Expand

A very Woody Allen-esque rom-drom about a very "white" sub-cultural non-phenom of childless guilt. I'm a white guy and even I saw this as so white bread! I'm a white guy and even I saw this as so white bread! How this film was greenlit for the big screen is beyond me, it's the perfect fodder for Lifetime or WE. The pace, dialogue, scenery is all so banal and boring. Even the lead character Josh says this self-aware line when conversing with hedge fund Dave (played by Ryan Serhant from "MDLNY", the primary reason I even attempted this) "As with many boring things, the longer you watch it, it takes on a different dimension." Except the longer you watch this the only different dimension you'll encounter is your own dream life (because, um, you'll fall asleep.)

"The Family Guy" did a similar treatment of older couple trying to keep up with a younger couple to far greater effect and interest at a fraction of the cost. I guess films of this low caliber are made simply as a paycheck mechanism for career actors. Every film, every tv show, every song can't be a hit but they keep the ball moving forward, everyone employed.

I am 20 minutes in and it seems like rude, hipster central. Half way in, still the same vibe but, after you get over the first 45 minutes of it, it slowly starts to show you the idea and "message" of the movie. The movie isn't groundbreaking,I am 20 minutes in and it seems like rude, hipster central. Half way in, still the same vibe but, after you get over the first 45 minutes of it, it slowly starts to show you the idea and "message" of the movie. The movie isn't groundbreaking, it's the type that you watch when there is nothing else to watch or if you're 45yo and identify with it's characters. I think it somehow personifies the bridge between 2 generations, and it is suitable for both. Most 20-somethings might find it boring, but if you keep watching it, it will make sense and it will also show you how your parents feel, the baby culture, the new-comers etc. It's a good movie, but not for everyone.
