One of the best animation movie i have ever seen. Represent today's facts and has lots of imagination. Disney really got me amazed how the non-speaking robots can show such feelings, and able to drag me into those feelings.

The first half is transcendent. Although WALL-E is a robot composed of assorted metals, he is anything but lifeless. One of the most endearing characters that I know of. Honestly, movie's don't get much more heart warming than this. Pixar's best.

And even with a firm "hit me with your best shot, movie" attitude tucked snugly in my proverbial pocket, the film still managed to impress the ever-loving hell out of me, thus leaving me with the rare and yet oh-so mournful sensation of longing for what could have been. Oh, "WALL-E." How different would things be had I retained you in the annals of my memory for the past ten years? What kind of person would I have grown to be? How would that WALL-E-shaped impression in my mind have informed upon my moviegoing choices and preferences, ultimately leading to a different, perhaps brighter future that simply never was nor will be? Alas, I digress. "WALL-E" is a treasure, an absolutely winsome, beautiful, and imaginative treat for the eyes, ears, and soul. I curse myself for putting off watching it for so long, yes, but I also am deeply thankful I got around to it at all. Expand

It's surprising how can this animated film effect to our emotions when the first half of the movie is almost without dialogue. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I beleive that Wall-E is the best PIXAR movie i have ever seen. What can be better than a robot machine which have emotions? The movie also criticise heavily the fault of mankind:trash-splittering.If we continue to litter,we will be in the movie's scene one day.In the Axiom, everything is automatic but the machines there, besides EVE,have no emotions at all.Modern as they are, they only do the things they are meant to do,unlike Wall-E.Apart from being such a good movie,Wall- E is a meaningful one.In my opinion,it carries a message to human from PIXAR:If we continue to ruin nature,we will destroy our own home-The Earth. I will say I loved this movie, it is a truly beautiful movie. It could have done with being a tad longer perhaps, but essentially this is more than a movie with A List vocal talents, WALL-E has genuine heart and will definitely enchant children and any Pixar fan. All I will say is that I am sorry it took me such a long time to see it, I will admit I was differing whether I should see it or not. But I am glad I did. The animation is simply incredible, the whole film is wonderful to look at. The whole movie is done in a very sophisticated visual style, and the bright colours and sublime backgrounds were a delight to the eyes. The music is stunning, the orchestral themes are gorgeous but the song from Hello Dolly! was great and fitted in with the story well. Speaking of the story, it may seem thin to some, but it is a very simple heart warming one all the same with depth and poignancy. There are some very imaginative moments, such as the zero-gravity dance and the ride through space. The voice cast that includes Fred Willard, Sigourney Weaver and Pixar regular John Ratzenburger did an exceptional job, and all the characters were endearing. What made the movie was WALL-E himself, he has to be one of the most lovable and in-depth Pixar characters ever, and the writers create a very haunting atmosphere in the early scenes to match our little hero's isolation. All in all, brilliant, quite possibly one of the best films of 2008. 9.5/10 Bethany Cox Expand

The first 20 minutes are the best bits because they do a great job of telling the story without dialogue but the rest is good too. Wall-e the character is impossible not to love, he's just so adorable. The villain, Auto (a parody of HAL from 2001:a space odyssey) is a unique villain because he's just programmed to do what he does, he's not good or bad. He's just not sentient so he can just obey his programming. Overall, this is a deep and amazing film, with a great message. Expand

I'm kind of tired of everyone throwing Pixar a huge bone of 'wow! that was awesome! Ground breaking!' for every movie they create. They best Pixar movie, by the way, is still FInding Nemo. Anyway, the chilling scenary is juxtaposed against child-like Wall-e, and that's what makes this movie. The idea that over-consumption is going to kill the world is taken to a drastic extreme, but it's a good message. However, using the 'OMG! If you buy too much, YOU WILL GET FAT!' logic doesn't really work. Using people's fear of fat as a reason to save the environment is not a creative idea. It's a cheap idea, and the idea that the fat people in the movie were supposed to represent modern Americans is insulting to many fat people who are fat because their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were fat. Also, blaming these said fat people for destroying the world is not an original or enlightening message. Expand

Like many people, I WALL-E is well worth watching just to see Pixar up the anti in digital animation once again. That being said, they still need to create better looking human characters, especially considering they also use a live actor. Like many people, I wasn't in love with the "social commentary" of the movie (it's just so obvious and annoying), but the love story at its heart is so fraking cute that only a monster could not find it charming in some way, and it completely pays off beginning and end. That, some well placed Sci-fi throw-backs, and steady humor make WALL-E excellent. Expand

What's with all the comic book movies and sequels? Answer: there aren't any good ideas anymore and people apparently aren't fond of thinking while at the movie theater either. WALL-E delivers some substance at a time when there is no substance. It's a deep and dark animated movie so only take your kids under 10 if they have high IQs. The others won't get it and won't like it (you know, the future comic book movie crowd). Anyway, this movie covers love, loneliness and environmentalism all in one smooth shot. The only reason I didn't give this movie a 9 or a 10 is because there was a little bit too much meandering at the end when all the robots were running around. Trust the reviews, it's original. Expand

At least, we will after seeing this movie. The movie beats you over the head with the fantasy that following the feelings that result from infatuation will eventually lead to happiness. It also tickles you aggressively with situations involving a bunch of obese, devolved humans. But you don't notice the bruises on your body after taking the beating because the film is so darn charming. Everyone wants to laugh at fat humans, and they also want to believe that they can be permanently happy with others that really tickle their fancy. The graphics were the best i've ever seen on a CGI film, and the story was heart-warming and a delight to watch. However, towards the end the film became more stereotypical in a sense, Hero saves the day blah blah blah, but it was carried out in such manner that softened the blow, well one, by not using any magical fairytale lands, and two, rasing awareness of environmental issues although I won't spoil it for you. Which kids are informed about global warming and CO2, and which of them are concentrated enough to see the poesy in an almost silent movie, tell me? So, my advise would be: «Do not take your children to see this movie, but go see it with your boyfriend/girlfriend. And let the images do all the work.» Expand

It was a cute film but I felt it was trying to shove the environmental crap down our throats. I get it that we are fat pigs that pollute the planet. Alright already I'll- reuse, reduce and recycle. Although I admit it is on par for a pixar film.

Prior to watching this film, i was told by a number of people the level of expertise this film had, so i went into this film seeing it as a masterpiece and i wasn't wrong.. The level of detail is quite amazing, and most probably the best looking animated film to date. The movie itself started off very interesting leading you through the daily life of the character "wall e", his daily routines and slowly begins to unfold to a story about humanity returning to earth. The opening of the movie got me hooked right into the movie and i was enjoy every second of it. As the movie progresses, the level of style is dramatically changed as we are taken on a journey with wall e to an aircraft that holds current humanity. the style humanity was conveyed was very interesting as are over weight and fly around all day living an un-natural world. As film progressed, i couldn't help to feel a different approach towards the film as a whole, the beginning was amazing... but then it began to stretch into the old routine of posting the story to the viewers, and ended up turning into a tory about the relation ship between EVE and WALL E as well as to relocate humanity on earth. As a whole i did enjoy this movie, especially the into scenes but as the movie progressed, it began to die down. Thank god the produces didnt make the film any longer than it already is as it might of gotten boring at some parts. If you havnt seen this movie, i highly recommend you go rent it or buy it on dvd, or blue ray for the ultimate experience!!! Expand

There is virtually no dialogue for at least the first 15 minutes of the movie, yet the audience is suspended by the charm of a tiny little trash compacter, something that is unheard of in a modern kids movie (let alone a regular movie.) The film also contains an overt environmental message that probably wouldn't have been possible a few years ago. All in all, it's not Pixar's best, but it's still an enjoyable movie and a must see for the big screen because the visual environment is absolutely gorgeous. Expand

Wall E is certainly not the funniest of the Disney Pixar movies but, thanks in large part to its main protagonist; it is a genuinely moving tale and should entertain adults and children alike.

Wall-E is the captivating story of a clean up robot in the world of humanities waste, who comes across another robot: E.V.E, and together they both go through a touching journey full of discovery, and fun characters. Now right off the bat IWall-E is the captivating story of a clean up robot in the world of humanities waste, who comes across another robot: E.V.E, and together they both go through a touching journey full of discovery, and fun characters. Now right off the bat I love this movie, Why? Because it's not going to be preachy and talk about the unhealthy habits we humans have, like polluting the environment, are obsession with advancing technology, and our unhealthy lifestyle. Now just because a movie is not preachy about messages that are pretty important to teach does not mean it's an instant winner for everybody; the best example is the Metascore, critics like it, but some viewers opinions aren't interested in the truly deep themes or just simply don't care. Why did I give an 8? Well ultimately my opinion may not matter to most of you seeing in how I have no reasonable credibility that makes me any different than any other normal person who wants to talk about movies he/she likes. Now the movie itself is fun to watch all the way through, I say that because a majority of people like the first or second half of the movie. The first half is more deep with its subtle telling of what the world has become in the distant future. The great part of this is that it's mostly silent; with the exception of some noises from Wall-E and E.V.E and audio from video clips, and that it shows the disgusting world without saying anything about it. Now the second part is the two on the ship with the rest of the human population. Now this is fun for the funny moments, we have the introduction of M.O.E; a cleaning robot who follows Wall-E's trail to clean him, and finally the whereabouts of the rest of the humans. Before I talk about the second part, I should quickly talk about the main two characters: Wall-E and E.V.E. Wall-E is your typical cute character with a heart for learning and compassion. E.V.E is focused on completing her goals because of her programming, but eventually starts to develop feelings for Wall-E, and show that robots can change from their stereotypical notions. Now onward with the second part of this story. While I said it was fun with the characters and all, but the issue with this part is that it sort of contradicts the first part. In that the first part was serious with its subtle messages, but this is more focused on making the audience laugh and showing a good adventure instead of what it was originally going for. While I do agree with others may think of the two parts, I do think that they both are good, sure one may be better written than the other, but I enjoy them both. I enjoy this movie all they way through, it's full of heart, loving characters, very well written thematic elements, and is overall a fun adventure for all ages. Expand

There is an innocent joy evident within this film of which theaters have not seen in quite some time. WALL-E's powerful first half involves little dialogue and though some may find it boring, the movie never loses sight of where its going and what it wants to be. The second half is more standard Pixar fare but is enhanced by the attachment we grow towards WALL-E early on in the movie. This movie does not try to dazzle us with special effects or perplex us with a complex plot. The animation, though amazing, and the plot, though interesting, never overtake the characters in terms of importance. Pixar' took two significant risks with this movie: taking a slow approach to the scenes on Earth and having a largely speechless main character. Both paid off handsomely making WALL-E an affecting and enthralling classic. Expand

Consigliato? Sì, decisamente.

It's not hard to get attached to cute robots, but without much dialogue in the first half of the movie, I'm glad that the visual storytelling works so well to get the audience invested in these characters. The romance in this movie is also handled really well and was super heart-felt by the end of it. Thomas Newman also does a great job with the score, and I might even like it even more than his score for Finding Nemo. Maybe. I'm glad I revisited this PIXAR gem. Expand

Wonderful character animation, lighting and camera work this time around (over-use of lens effects and depth of field, however.) Many funny and touching moments. My main criticism is, as many others have pointed out, is that the commentary on western culture is way too heavy handed. The portrayal of humanity in the future (morbidly obese, sheltered, addicted to the big-box way of life) is humorous but akin to being whacked over the head with a giant hammer. I expect more subtlety out of Pixar's creative minds! My tastes fall in line more with the Brad Bird teams at Pixar. Would recommend seeing the movie, but don't expect to be blown away. The "political" message will turn off some, it's a bit heavy handed towards Wal-Mart and "our" consumption lifestyle, mostly true however, but kinda depressing to see if this is how we end up in 700 years :) Lastly - It's simply NOT good for kids younger than 10.
