'Venom' is just funny. Don't listen to the critics since they expected a really serious, sci-fi horror film. The film itself is good, but the comedy just brings it right out of the box. So if you want a good laugh, then you should watch this.

It's not a terrible movie by any means but it's indeed a really bad one, in terms of filmmaking at least. Eddie Brock is an idiot that becomes a loser by his own stupidity and he doesn't grow, doesn't have an arc, there's nothing, same thing with all the other characters, like the villain, the villain was so bad, so boring and generic and the writing and the actor's performance really didn't help at all. The CGI is overused to the point that the third act is just a CGI mess and borderline incoherent thanks to bad camerawork, and the biggest problem of the movie is that it's completely tonally inconsistent. What does this movie wants to be? Sometimes is a horror movie, sometimes it's a comedy, sometimes it's the typical campy, fun Marvel movie, like seriously, I don't know what this movie wants to be, because there are scenes that feel straight out of a generic jump-scare fest horror movie, and other scenes that are funny...Or unintentionally funny thanks to bad writing and hilarious performances.

Venom ended up being a disappointment and tonally all over the place, as a movie, this is really bad, but as a so-bad-it's good movie, it's amazing. If you watch this you'll not get bored, trust me, I could rewatch this just to keep making fun of the bad moments.… Expand

Underrated movie. I just love Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock. Real, low-key and no edgy. The story is decent. Venom got a bit too chaotic and noisy in the film, biting heads and eating people, making audiences cover their ears but didn't make them throw their popcorns or leave the theatre thanks to the fine plot and good acting

"Venom" is a film I've been planning to go to the cinema for a long time, the trailers bought me and although the character is not too complicated, I always liked it in any medium. A few days before the premiere, the Internet was in turmoil,"Venom" is a film I've been planning to go to the cinema for a long time, the trailers bought me and although the character is not too complicated, I always liked it in any medium. A few days before the premiere, the Internet was in turmoil, among others, from a relatively low percentage collected from the review on Rotten Tomatoes. And although it gave me a negative attitude towards this production, I did not regret buying a ticket for the screening. I left the cinema room really positively surprised because the film was OKAY! Of course, it's stylistically sloppy, the first 10 minutes heralds a horror movie, then every now and then we jump from comedy to thriller and vice versa. These indecisiveness of the creators, what they actually want to shoot, hurts especially when both the film made completely seriously or with a pinch of humor would still be better than this mix, resulting mainly from the script "Venom" written by 4 people. Also, the leading actors, despite their potential, the roles of Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed are unused. Only Tom Hardy with his phenomenal acting really squeezes everything out of such an average written character. The biggest advantage of this creation is the comic relation between Eddie Brock and the symbiote, which, by the way, finally looks as it should, so I have no objections to special effects. I have them, however, about the lack of inspiration from the source material, i.e. comics. I'm a little tired of the fact that the thread of squeezing out Brock at the gym has been abandoned. I don't mind the distance from the classic plot with Spider-Man, but I would like at least one small easter egg referring to the hero.
To sum up, "Venom" is an interesting escape from MCU or DCEU films. So I'm giving the green light to projects of this type, where we're getting closer to a nemesis of popular heroes. So I am waiting for the solo positions telling the story of Morbius or the Joker.… Expand

I enjoy some super hero type films but not all of them - I can appreciate any film with decent special effects (CGI) and so on and this film does feature some pretty impressive visual effects. The cast give pretty decent performances I suppose. Its a fairly entertaining watch, if a bit far fetched plot wise but then I suppose that's to be expected. I liked one plot element featuring the owner of a small store near where the main character lives. This is an ok film but not more, so I wouldn't entirely recommend it, no.… Expand

Watching this a day before the sequel, this movie not as bad as people say it is. Yes the "Snapchat" face filter effects they use at times seemed a bit whacky, but other than that, the film is good from start to finish.

This is, without a doubt, one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. I don't like being harsh, but I went into this film with low expectations, and still came out of it disappointed. But even more than that, this is one ofThis is, without a doubt, one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. I don't like being harsh, but I went into this film with low expectations, and still came out of it disappointed. But even more than that, this is one of the only films that actually made me feel sick while watching it. The action is so disorienting and hard to look at most times, because so much is going on on screen and the camera reacts so quickly to it. The Character are so one-dimensional. The main villain especially is so cookie cutter generic that he felt like he came out of a .25 cent candy machine for super villains, and has no identity of his own. Eddy Brock gets fired... for doing his job? I'm still a little confused by that. I think I would've liked a better character arc for him honestly.

But the absolute apex of this disaster of a film comes at the climax, where the two Venoms face off against each other. The entire sequence feels like an amalgamation of black and grey blobs hitting each other on screen and spinning around in different positions so fast... I literally thought I was having an epilepsy attack. I literally felt like I was gonna vomit. And when the whole scene was over and Brock fell into the water, I literally just wanted it to be over.

If there is any redeeming features of this film, I will say now that I really loved the design of Venom, he is terrifying and really incredible. The voice acting for his character is also fantastic, and horrific! The soundtrack is okay, I guess, but it's honestly pretty forgettable, which isn't much of an improvement over the rest of the film. The lighting could be cool at times, but could also be so dim that you can't tell what's happening on screen. And lastly, I liked the serious tone.... When it actually got serious. This film flip flops between comedy and serious moments so much, I was confused as to what tone the director was going for. Overall, the tone was less good and more mixed. But that sums my thoughts on the "positives"

This film is terrible, I was so disappointed because under all the poor scriptwriting, lighting, action and camera work, I could really see the potential this movie wasted. It hurts that I hated it this much, and urks me more that I agree with the critics.… Expand

· Cosas buenas: Consigue su objetivo: entretener. La relación entre Tom Hardy y Venom es maravillosa, de lo mejor de la película, lo que más ganas tenía de ver. La acción está guay, aunque hay coreografías (sobre todo al final) algo confusas, y lo cómica que es, funciona bastante bien.
· Cosas malas: El villano es simplón, algunos efectos no casan bien, no tiene un tono uniforme, además, el resto de personajes no aportan demasiado, y el guion es algo irregular.
· Conclusión: Está bien para pasar el rato, te entretiene, tiene momentos cómicos y bastante chulos, pero no va más allá, quizás ni lo pretenda, funciona bien.… Expand

По трейлерам складывалось впечатление, что нас ожидает действительно нечто необычное, была надежда, что данного персонажа наконец-то достойно представят в кино. Однако, с каждой новой новостью о фильме закрадывались смутные сомнения. К сожалению, они оправдались, но обо всём по порядку.
Сюжет - самое слабое место фильма. По трейлерам можно было узнать весь сюжет картины, никаких неожиданных поворотов не будет.
Визуальная часть, как и ожидалось, очень средняя. Экшен-сцены выглядят откровенно слабо, а финальная битва - это что вообще за мультик?!
Саундтрек очень средний.
Хотелось бы также отметить крайне неуместный и глупый юмор, который периодически проскальзывает в картине. Хотели комедию, а в итоге и здесь провалились, но всё же были и хорошие моменты, но и их было крайне мало.
Убийства, расчленёнка, море крови, разрывание конечностей, поедание людей заживо - всё это чего так сильно хотели фанаты, а в итоге получили фильм для детей.
Ещё хотелось бы сказать вот что: Почему показали только Бунта!? Почему не удосужились показать Крик, Лэшера, Агонию и Фейджа!? Это сделало бы фильм чутка лучше.
Единственный хоть какой-то плюс - это Том Харди. Видно, как он пытается вытащить весь фильм своей харизмой.
Подводя итог, хочется сказать, что Sony в очередной раз пытается заманить всех в кинотеатр красивыми трейлерами, а сам фильм оказался пустым, стандартным и бессмысленным.
Веном – это не хороший и не плохой фильм, он просто никакой. Очередная провальная попытка перенести на экран изначально мрачного и жестокого персонажа, где халтура проскальзывает практически во всём. Очень жаль.… Expand

Got my partner involved on seeing this after we got her to watch all the Spider-Man movies (Sam Rami, Amazing and MCU Spider-Man films) and as Venom has some place in combination with those films, it felt right to finally watch this one.Got my partner involved on seeing this after we got her to watch all the Spider-Man movies (Sam Rami, Amazing and MCU Spider-Man films) and as Venom has some place in combination with those films, it felt right to finally watch this one.

Eddie Brock is infected with a symbiote from outer space by the name of Venom, and they are trying to take down a man who has had access to other symbiotes and is sacrificing innocent humans to find a way to merge alien and human so we can finally achieve space travel and habitation. There is a little bit more to it than that but that would get into spoiler territory. The story itself is nothing difficult to follow and that worked in it's favour in my view.

Tom Hardy plays Eddie and does a good job, had no issues with him and his connection to Venom is interesting to watch and they gel really well together, creating some funny moments of back and fourth banter between the two. Venom reminds me of that type of friend who is a goofball but lovable still, and my partner seemed to also like this character as she said she loved him by the end (despite biting off people's heads).

The humour itself is very silly but in a good way, a lot of Marvel films follow a very similar format and you kinda know what to expect each time, while this one felt more ridiculous but in a good way. It does have some serious things about it, but for the most part I just enjoyed what the movie gave me.

There is a slow build up to seeing Eddie and Venom join up, that is one of the negatives I have for the movie, it just feels like a slow build but I wasn't bored throughout the movie at all, I think I was just anticipating it a lot.

Action is fun but it can be a little hard to follow at times, especially the end fight, if you have seen the movie you will know what I am talking about, but just in general the movie is a little dark so its hard to see certain things, whether intentional or not, it doesn't take away from the movie that much. Also despite Venom having some pretty devastating attacks, it gets censored quite a bit so don't expect any gore, it isn't necessary but would've been cool to see a R rating Venom.

Critics really didn't like this movie which surprised me, I honestly had a good time watching it, as did my partner, felt different from the standard MCU film and just was a good time. It is by no means a perfect movie, but I never went in expecting that, I just sat back and had a good time. Give it a watch and judge for yourself, you may agree with the critics, or you might just enjoy yourself.… Expand

I really enjoyed Venom.

The good: Tom Hardy acts his heart out as a loser on a mission, Riz Ahmed plays a psychopathic tech billionaire convincingly and Jenny Slate performed a conflicted scientist well. The CGI for Venom was well done. II really enjoyed Venom.

The CGI for Venom was well done. I thought the time spent on Eddie's backstory was good, because it meant we got to know his character. There's quite a few funny moments between Eddie and Venom.

You may not like: The action doesn't start until late in the movie. I can't comment on how this portrayal of Venom holds up to the comics. In some of the fight scenes, it's very hard to see what is going on because it's a jumbled mess.

In summary, this is a really good film if you don't mind the build up to the action.… Expand

One thing is for certain - Venom LOOKS fantastic. The VFX are phenomenal. Tom Hardy plays both characters very well and it's good for a few cheap laughs. That's about all, though.

Venom is a bad movie with charm. If you can get over the corny acting and dry plot the movie oddly works well as a dark yet tame buddy comedy with some decent action sequences.

Al parecer no entiendo ciertas cosas de esta pelicula un personaje ficticio malvado se crea como las otras películas de cine estadounidense se noto que falta mas creatividad a la hora de crear el villano de la pelicula que todos los fanáticos de Marvel esperan sin embargo se evidencio que fue la mejor cabe resaltar que la película lleva una secuencia romántica y acción pero contiene la típica historia de una persona que lleva una vida increíble y que por algo o alguien todo se va a la basura terminando como un forajido. los escenarios fueron lo mas aceptables que de esta pelicula pudo dejar para amantes a los personajes ficticios como super héroes de Marvel y dicy
