Starts off quite well and with a lot of attention to detail, some clever twists in the story and Gemma Arterton naked. The ending feels disappointing since the build up was so well crafted.

Could have been so so good. It dotted all the i and t's but then it forgot the details. I was engrossed. Nice twists and turns. And then. Well. It defies logic how the situation evolves. It defies logic how the situation evolves. Holes begin to evolve . It becomes somewhat illogical when for example the kidnappers with all their cunning seem to towards the end just leave their fingerprints all around having at the start taking such careful consideration. (there is one other major illogical scene which i will omit rather than spoil the movie) The movie should have taken its time and do-over some scenes to make it more plausible. Such a great effort but the minor details and illogical scenes cast a heavy shadow over what could have been a great movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There are several flaws in the script, classical ones, like "Why do you HAVE to find the keys right next to the guy?" or why couldn't the guy hide the bullet until another moment, or even hide the bullet hole in the wall. Moreover, some attempts of the director in creating irony or agony fail - like the catharsis when spitting the bullet out and eating it again. The characters were poorly developed in general: the three of them are freaks, but you cannot care for anyone. Vic is too much of a perv with no smooth side seeable; the girl is spoiled and **** all the time, not losing her humanity in the captive position; and on the top of it, the actor that plays Danny was less expressive (and sleazy) than the character. Besides, wouldn't it be more interesting to make Danny a real weak character that could not even chose who should **** him for life, the guy or the girl? That would've been a great character, but the Danny presented did not show all that going on - it was more of a smartass trying to fool everyone and failing on it. It was a nice opening and at times I wanted to see the plan work, or go entirely wrong, even - the false trails that she would be dead (twice!) were just annoying - perhaps she could have been killed and the thriller would become one of those circumstantial ones. I liked the ending, although a bit predictable. It has a good setup, a nice scheme and interesting twists, but I was a bit frustrated. Expand

A movie that felt like it started off with a nice climax but only to fall short of anything brilliant. One of those movies where you just HAVE to see the ending. Like poker, don't play the hand if you're not down to go all in.
