This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tenet is a great film, but don’t get me wrong, it isn’t exactly the second coming of Christ. Some of the action is an art form (after watching I'm still watching the first 6 minutes just to see the sheer greatness of that theatre shooting) the time technology is fairly understandable but some of it still confuses me (if i didn’t drop it what makes me make it come up? And, if I throw it, could I make it fly back to me?) but it doesn’t distract from the plot too much. John David Washington [the protagonist] plays his role rather awesomely, and Robert Patterson (who is my second favorite character, [Neil])
gives fresh breath of air. Overall, great film. I consider a good spending of 2 1/5 hours.

This movie is a perfect thought of; lets film a movie and the shoot a few scenes in reverse and put your brains in a blender so that you can overthink everything and want to watch it again. Because of the structure of this film you are forced to think differently in regards to how the past, present, and future are almost abstract and interconnected simultaneously. Odd way to put it i know, but its just fitting for some strange reason. I would suggest watching this with another 1+ person because there will be definitely things you catch that they don't and vice-versa throughout the movie. The story (without time concept) was very simple but with time concept, the story was so much complex and interesting. This movie gives you enough for discussion and will enjoy discussing it.

Overall, do watch it (most preferably in cinemas) and discuss it with your friends (who have watched it).

Though it is probably one of Nolan’s most polarizing film. I was especially Flabbergasted by the visual editing (not CGI) and the cinematography. The music composed by Ludwig Göransson was immensely appealing and unique. The way he implemented new musical ideas such as reverse music was spectacular. The plot, especially the ending (which most people cannot understand) was beautiful. So beautiful that it’s really difficult to understand. This is a very complex film indeed. But complex storylines can prove to be immensely beautiful. Once understood, one will remain aghast with beautiful story Nolan has built upon. Some emotions are very open, like Katherine’s love for her son and the hatred with Sator (one must remain aware of the fact that human emotions are not always good. Exploring the evil side of human emotions is also important and impactful). Meanwhile some emotions are very difficult to recognize, like the friendship of The Protagonist and Neil. The few impactful twists and the marvelous world that Nolan has created just like Inception is remarkable and can be cherished upon for long. There were some imperfections which prevent it to be Nolan’s best work. The story was a bit fast paced in the first half of the film. Also, the sound mixing proved it to be difficult for people to listen to the dialogues, which can easily be solved by subtitles (duh!). But all in all it was a phenomenal piece of filmography. It is a modern masterpiece which would take time for people to understand the depth of. One thing is for sure, watch it twice and then make an opinion. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tenet is a lesser epic but with far more potential than other bigger works.

The acting in Nolan films are not always the best, I don't know if it's the casting choices or the fact the storylines, cinematography leave the actors behind. It's not that he uses bad actors, it's just In my opinion you can never truly relate to the characters. However, Tenet fools you into thinking this is the case again, but then makes a splash with some top acting from John David Washington and Elizabeth Debicki.

Unlike many Nolan films(an example Dunkirk) the emotion is cold, almost unimportant but in Tenet you do start to root for any chance of romance and that becomes are driver throughout the film. Quite rare.

The film does genuinely feel less epic, most of the shots are in close quarters and if they're not, it's at sea or on a wasteland. You can see this similarly in inception, but that does manage to have large scape epic scenes mixed in.

You do start towards the end realise again, through subtle (at the time, pointless) shots that you are meant to be looking at this film in a certain way, but don't quite get in until it unravels and bang! it hits you... Damn, Nolan got me again.

Those moments are great in Nolan films when you collectively start nodding in the cinema when you all piece it together.

Overall a good Nolan film... Good clothing, cars and bling, not so much scenery and atmosphere.

Only real sticking point - the Score.

Tenet Review

I was always a fan of Christopher Nolan and Tenet does not disappoint at all. It is an interesting movie, but it is a little undercooked and served undone. The main problem with this movie is that the premise involves a serious level of intellectual brain power to comprehend, second by second, as the director intends, but it is executed sloppily in general. The narrative devolves into clear funding issues in production, a lack of evolving and branching narrative arches and storylines, diversions into time, expanding and branching in and out of time, inverting every possible frame of the movie somehow relative to the narrative.

This movie was an interesting “prototype” concept for a movie that could have been a lot better honestly.

It’s a 7/10 from me.

Another Nolan's MASTERPIECE
A difficult movie with tension, mistery, action and an OUTSTANDING soundtrack.
Who cry like a baby for the difficulty of the movie is pretty ignorant, it's not the movie difficult but the main theme (reverse time), and Nolan represent that in an incredible way of filmaking

Obviously not on the same level as Inception, but Nolan still did a pretty decent job with this one. One thing I felt this movie does a bit better than inception is that it has a larger and more menacing threat that has to be dealt with. Expand

I totally mean it , Nolan has crafted a masterpiece which is meant to be viewed on the largest screen possible . I know this review is late and people with the brain of 9 year old will of course not understand this "Masterpiece". The plot in a nutshell is all about Time travel , an idea we all are very familiar with . It's the screenplay that comes up on top (It does have a minor exposition problem) and that protagonist's fight at the airport is just wow wow wow wow !!!!! . The cinematography , dialogues , direction and acting is top notch , it forcefully asks the viewer to watch it again and every time you watch it you notice something new . For those of you who don't understand it let me rephrase a quote from BVS "People hate what they don't like understand" . For me the best of Nolan , no doubts! Expand

Solid performances by the entire cast and very creative use of the "time travel" trope. This is a mind-bendingly good flick!

Una película para aquellos que aman el arte complejo, que exige atención a los detalles y desafía al espectador a ir más allá de lo que sus ojos ven. Una obra maestra que seguramente será aún más alabada por la posteridad.

Not Nolan in his best shape, its a bit too long, the sound is all over the place, and the plot is kind of a mess, but still a compelling piece of film with a great concept and incredible production design.
