A very interesting film that contains such of HHP. Maybe we are tired of the restart of Spider-Man story, but this film shows us a more charming super-villian, it's never before.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ah, Spider-Man: Homecoming. An enjoyable film that I was so glad I watched. It's a great MCU film, but is weak as a Spider-Man film imo.
Removing elements from Peter's backstory seems better, but brings this at a disadvantage. They could've shown them in flashbacks... Because of this and Peter being close to Iron Man, I think of Spider-Man more as MCU's Iron Man Jr.Tom Holland is great as Peter Parker, but weak as Spider-Man. To me, this film would've worked if Spider-Man was replaced with a different hero.
Also, the villains are horrible. Vulture is great, but the rest suck. The first Shocker has a pointless subplot that lasts for less than a minute before he is killed, the second Shocker has no character development or personality, the Tinkerer is just an underutilized scientist sidekick, and Scorpion is a horrible cameo that doesn't do anything, especially because he isn't in Far From Home.
I know Sony messed up with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but I wished they continued and gotten rid of some villain ideas. As for this film, it's definitely good, but isn't great and mostly lacks the identity as Spider-Man.

The Pros:

1) Good Action

2) Character Development

3) Michael Keaton The Main Villian (Vulture)

4) Very Funny

5) IRON MAN! (Then... there is Happy. I also love how Tony in this movie acted as a father towards Peter, I mean he does see him as a father figure.)

6) "Spider-Man Will Return"

7) The High Tech Webshooters & Suit's AI (I love the fact he has different combinations of webbing and how funny he interacted with his Suit's AI. By telling her about his crush and using her to pick different webbing, but... his webbing. We got to see taser webbing, rapid fire, spider tracers, etc.)

The Cons:

1) The Suit Along With The Tech 2) Where Was Spider-Man's Spider Sense?!

3) Character Motivation (A bunch of guys got fired and can't take a look around the area for Alien technology. I mean with skills like those to be able to make human technology work with Alien. The guys would easily find an easy job.)

4) Flash Thompson (I expected him to be very rude towards Peter in this movie. He didn't seem as menacing since all he did was make fun of him by not believing Spider-Man was Peters friend. And making fun of his name while being a DJ at Vulture's house... Bruh)

5) Weaker than the other Spider Men

A very good film to start Spider-Man's inclusion into the MCU.
The only problem is that they don' try and do something new, I loved the high school setting of the film, but when it comes to story and characters, it's Iron-Man all over again.

I have to say. What a surprise! I only watched this movie because my girlfriend dragged me into it. I expected another mediocre Spiderman movie that i'd forget about in the next couple of hours, but i was proven otherwise.
The Story itself is rather weak, your usual actionmovie plot we have these days. The Spiderman character was presented way better than in any other Spiderman movie before though. He was relatable and cool. Even the villain was amazing, you could clearly understand his motif and background, i loved that.
The one thing that convinced me with this movie though was the sounddesign, music and camerawork. The scene when her father drove her and Spiderman to the ball was so extremely intense and exciting that it had me biting my tongue. Very very amazing.

Tom Holland shines as Peter Parker, and he's surrounded by a cast of impressively talented young actors. They all have great chemistry with one another.

One of the biggest things going for the film, in addition to the pure sense of joy it strives toward, is its villain. Michael Keaton gives us one of the few deeply interesting antagonists in the MCU. The movie actually manages to surprise as well. There are a couple of moments that made my audience gasp, which is something I don't often experience with comic book films.

It all adds up to a joyful experience with a breezy pace, tons of hear, and genuinely well-realized characters that are almost absurdly likable. In terms of pure summer fun, this is probably the best you'll experience in 2017.

If you look back at some of the best spiderman movies like 1 and 2, they weren't light hearted. The were intense and emotional, but they were also very fun. This movie is none of those things. Tom Holland is very good here, and I really like the ark he goes through. However, the best part of this movie is Michael Keaton as the Vulture. His character was interesting and his performance was even better. The best scene in the movie by far is when they are talking in the car. That was the only scene in the movie where I felt something was at stake. Not a bad movie in any way, but I didn't love it like a lot of people did. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spider-Man: Homecoming gives us something that we haven’t seen yet in the MCU so far: a youthful perspective, being that of a teenager. This is a breath of fresh air for Marvel fans, especially younger ones, since the overwhelming majority of characters we’ve been introduced to in the MCU have been adults or older. For a second reboot of the Spider-Man character, this one works incredibly well as it deviates from the formula that the original and first reboot followed. Tom Holland, a familiar face from Civil War, is also a great casting choice for Peter Parker, since he’s actually young and gives a great performance as an amateur superhero who wants to get involved in action that’s a bit out of his paygrade. Peter’s abilities may not be relatable to viewers, but his mindset definitely is: he’s dealing with problems that a lot of teenage boys go through, like school and girls, and trying to balance all of that with “extracurricular” commitments. This movie, like Civil War, also deals with the consequences of actions which contributions to the realistic and relatable nature of the film, although it does so on an appropriately smaller scale. It’s nice to see Tony Stark take a mentor/father figure position with Peter, as in Civil War he was more of a recruiter and it’s overall cool to see how Tony and Peter both change each other and progress as characters. Interactions between the two are likely some of the most down to Earth and relatable moments of the entire film. Michael Keaton’s Vulture is a unique villain for the film and one of the first times we’ve seen a villain be motivated by providing for their family and making ends meet, which gives viewers a villain they can sympathize for. Through all this, Homecoming might be the most relatable film in the entire MCU, both to younger viewers who are having these experiences and to older ones who’ve had them in the past. The only real fault of the movie is a timeline error that occurs right near the beginning which places the movie in a year that it can’t take place in. The error isn’t egregious but is easily noticeable and slightly disrupts the continuity of the MCU timeline. Spider-Man: Homecoming is not only a nice new direction for movies based on the character but is easy to connect to and I’d strongly recommend it to younger viewers. Expand

Not to mention the complete reinvention of his classmates. A total bastardization of the character. Here's a good rule of thumb for the future. If you don't like the characters save your money and make something else. You're never going to improve on the original stories. The Sam Raimi versions remain the high water mark for me with the exception of the god awful Spider-Man 3 (What was he thinking?). Maybe I'm getting too old for these movies. Expand

The second thing is how boring and predictable everything is. There's not a single aspect of the story you can't call well before it happens. It's so heavily cliched as well and that really doesn't help improve things. All in all, It can be a rather boring movie to sit through.

Now the action scenes really weren't all that good. They came off as all flash and no substance. It may appeal to kids who like all the bright colors but to adults, There's no real entertainment here. It's a lot of the same recycled material from past Spider Man films (the fluid combat featured in Amazing Spider Man and the rawness of it featured in the original Spider Man film). The lack of originality definitely takes it's toll.

Now as for the cast, They did an amazing job. Michael Keaton is simply fantastic as the villain and having him opposite of Tom Holland was a great match. You have this highly experienced actor playing this matured villain going against a much younger actor playing a hero who is still learning to be a hero. It makes for some great chemistry when they are on screen. And the rest of the supporting cast does wonders and really has their moments to shine.

All in all, I still view it as a deeply flawed film. It's above the garbage that was Spider Man 3 and Amazing Spider Man 2 but it still doesn't come close to touching the rest of the films.

Fox movies though are often hit and miss. I have to say the movie is great. Tom Holland owns the role of Peter Parker. Michael Keaton is also just fantastic as the Vulture. Every scene he is in just pops off of the screen. Marisa Tomei is a great take on Aunt May. Robert Downey Jr. is his typical self, smarmy and sort of funny. In general the movie captured a good mixture of suspense, action, and humor. All of the background characters (with one exception) were amazingly well cast. Often times actors are playing rolls that don't make a lot of sense given their profiles (e.g. Donald Glover's cameo) but they are all shout outs to characters with bigger roles in the Spiderverse.

The only casting/plot character that I disliked was Zendaya as Michelle. Her character isn't funny. She is creepy and annoying as heck. She is basically stalking Peter, rude, and just sort of a nasty smarmy person. The reveal at the end that she is "MJ" is also just terrible. They positive press this is getting is just due to the fact that she isn't white. The media goes bonkers any time there is a "strong" female character or a white character is recast as non-white. Since when is "strong" code for snarky? I do not want to see her character get more screen time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first film of the second reboot series in the Spider-Man film franchise. Peter Parker is only 15 in this one and a sophomore in high school, just starting his career as Spider-Man. The film eschews the origin story and Uncle Ben is already gone leaving us with Marisa Tomei as a younger, sexier version of Aunt May. She is serviceable, but never the sagely dotard who imparts Peter with a sense of responsibility. We see Spidey websling around NYC and break up robberies and petty street crimes which is fun. Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man and serves as something of a mentor to Peter and offers some comic relief. Michael Keaton is cast as Adrian Toomes/the Vulture, the film's main antagonist, a salvager of weapons technology left scattered around New York carried over from the past Avengers adventures and electrical engineer turned into a criminal arms dealer after Stark industries shuts down his business. He dawns a green electromagnetic tailored body-harness with claw-like wingtips, and boot-mounted talons that grants him flight. It is later revealed in a plot twist that is he is the father of Liz Allan, Peter's girlfriend which was kind of interesting. The movie's mainly played up as a teen comedy set up against the backdrop of a superhero flick. Which is entertaining for what it's worth, but not as good as the original Raimi trilogy apart from maybe Spider-Man 3. It's better than the Amazing Spider-Man 2, but probably only on par with the Amazing Spider-Man. It tries to be woke by having a diverse cast and having mixed race actors in roles such as Liz Allan, Ned Leeds and Michelle Jones (or "MJ" as a nod to Mary Jane Watson) which is okay but a little distracting. Shocker is supposedly featured in the movie, but it would be easy not to notice as he isn't much like his comic book counterpart, doesn't wear a mask, and is played by two actors as two characters go by the mantra "the Shocker" in the movie. One is white and one is black. Only one is named Herman Shultz. Instead of wearing two gauntlets that shoot shock waves, he just uses something like a ray gun that emits shock waves. So it's a pretty lame version of the Shocker. Overall though, the movie is a pretty good entry into the Spider-Man film universe. Expand

Having possessed such superpower, how he manages it alongside his normal life was nicely told.

This story begins straight away, because the introduction was done in the previous Marvel film, which are part of Avengers universe. Peter Parker assisted by Tony Stark, is very keen to fight small crimes compared to what Avengers fighting for. He feels, he's held back by Iron Man, so he wanted to make independent decisions. At one stage he succeeds in that, but things get more severe. Fighting bad guys, and the other side of his life, a romance, how the remaining story turns out are revealed with a twist.

Tom Holland was good. The story was simple, more like one liner. But the visuals and each scene forged nicely. Having seen all the five previous Spider-man films, this was quite predictable. Particularly the characters and their connections. Seeing how it had ended, it is possible that the daughter of the villain could take-over her father's place. That would be very interesting, because of the linkage between the film characters.

After seeing the first look, I was afraid that this young Spider-man might be overshadowed by Iron Man, but those parts really well done. Comparing it with the 15 years ago Spider-man, the technology has been the biggest change. That's why I still love Tobey Maguire film. Very simple and down to the earth without cell phones, computers. But the current superhero films are all alien oriented/connected theme, and of course digital technology a big leap. Hoping the next film too would impress us with the same intensity. So lets wait for summer 2019.

As most Marvel flicks the pacing is very good. And it´s family friendly.
It doesn´t give us any of that promised new stuff. We have seen Spiderman do all these things already, and way better. Tom Holland is a very good and cute young Spiderman (he is no Andrew Garfield as an actor though). He delivered. Michael Keaton is excelent as the villain, true quality seasoned actor. The execution is good. And there are a couple of really tense situations in the film that are worth it.
However, there are many cons: I´m definitely not into such a young Spiderman. He looks so small when he´s in his suit. The suit is worse than the one in The Amazing Spiderman. The fact that Spiderman is almost a product of Iron man is a joke. I´m sorry but that´s a total change for the character. It just isn´t Spiderman. During many parts of the film, the action scenes in the dark were confusing. Something that didn´t happen in the many night scenes in the two Amazing Spiderman films with Andrew Garfield. Marvel has done some kind of light comedy as they always do. In general it works as a well connected piece of entertainment. But it doesn´t go beyond that. The emotional connection is not there. The previous Spiderman films were way more involving and emotive.

Spider-man means teenie movie and this is how the movie is: annoying and childish. Good visual effects though and Micheal Keaton as the villain was interesting.

That being said, this is probably one of the weaker MCU movies out there. Too light on memorable action and too heavy on cornball humor. I get it, the gritty superhero movies of the the recent past have been done to death, but if there is one superhero that doesn't need additional characters for comic relief it's Spider-man. In this movie, nearly every secondary or tertiary character thinks they're comedians: Michelle, Nick, Flash, Tony Stark, Happy Hogan, The Vulture's tech guy, the Academic Decathlon teacher, the inexplicable Karen the Suit Lady, and even a little bit of Aunt May (though most of humor with her at the center focuses on "Ha, your aunt is hot *herr derr*). There isn't enough tension to warrant the attempts at all of the poorly written humor. Expand

Sure, I love the web-slinger, but I was just thinking "oh, great, another one." This was, of course, before I saw "Captain America: Civil War" and became excited for the film thanks entirely to Tom Holland's performance in the film. Having finally seen the film after months of hype, I can say that, in my humble opinion, this is my personal favorite Spider-Man film. I was so enthralled by the action, the performances (special shoutouts to Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton and Zendaya), the characters themselves, the writing, the visuals, everything. It was a really enjoyable film, and while it changes quite a few things in comparison to other Spider-Man movies, I think this is a good thing, because it helps the film to feel fresh, instead of just being another "Spider-Man" movie. If you've been itching to see "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and haven't gotten to, I highly recommend it. Expand

It fits in perfectly with the now established marvel universe that doesn't take it's self too seriously. The film uses the formula that made Gaurdians, Deadpool, Thor Ragnarok, Ant man and Dr Strange so cool. It's stylistic, funny and has some awesome action all held together with a fun soundtrack. The story flows well and there's never a dull scene. Spiderman and Peter Parker feel more like the early comic books and The Vulture makes a good antagonist. The only let down is the SJW nonsense that breaks the illusion. Now I get that in a modern high school you'd get kids who have been brainwashed into a cultural Marxist view point and would probably point out things like certain American monuments were built by slaves but some lines were really cringe worthy. Such as the teacher pointing out that 'protesting is a right'. The diverse cast is also a little strange. They literally have every race in a room at a time. The worst change is Flash becoming a dweeby Indian kid who is about as intimidating as baby groot! He doesn't fit at all. It was just a bit overkill. The film would have worked fine with the same cast bar Flash (at least chose a strong looking Indian guy!), dropping the social justice commentary and it would have been a fine example of how to tell a great story with a diverse cast. Aside from the annoying SJW nonsense the movie is great and thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait to see the new Spiderman in his next movie! Expand

I really wasn't expecting much from the trailers and clips I saw. I love how Spider-man is a young crime fighter who idolizes the super heroes yet is still trying to figure himself out. When you stop and think about it, this is the first MCU movie that focuses on the street-level hero just trying to help the every day people. This movie also has one of the best villains in any superhero movie in awhile. The Vulture isn't trying to destroy the galaxy or conquer the world, he is just trying to provide for his family and stay under the radar. Speaking of "under the radar" Sony/Marvel cleverly sneaks in another 3 well known Spider-man villains to be used in the future. This version of Spider-man screws up so consistently that it is a wonder he keeps going. But that's when you see Peter Parker turn into the real hero and I can't wait to see him grow and learn in future films. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you aren't tired of watching Spiderman movies by now, you're probably a hardcore Spiderman fan.For the rest of us, the question is "What does this Spiderman movie have to offer that others don't to make it worth watching?" and to be perfectly honest unless the answer is Tony Stark I'm not really sure what else, and that's only if you're a big Iron-Man/RDJ fan. For me, Tony Stark looms over and takes the spotlight from way too many scenes in this film, to the point it hardly feels like the focus is really on Spiderman. At least many of the other MCU origin movies got some room to develop the character and breathe before uniting with the other Avengers, and as far as this film goes you can't even really call it an origin story, as Spider-man's powers are never actually explained. As tiresome as it is to sit through the whole spiel again and again about how Peter Parker becomes the Spider-man, this film does the exact opposite and never once mentions how it happened, which makes the whole spider theme feel very forced and the hero rather unbelievable. Maybe just a quick reminiscence or flashback or just verbal explanation could've sufficed. All-in-all, this film starts out enjoyable enough to watch. It's nice to see a Marvel movie in a suburban setting for once, making it feel more real for those of us who don't live in the big cities, or outer space, that most of the others take place in. The common "plodding 2nd act" is a big problem with this film. There's a definite slow point where you might as well pee and refill snacks, as it fails to remain engaging for about 20 minutes or so of the film. However, the final act makes up for it in a big way, as I feel it is truly the strong point of this film, showing us who these characters really are and what they are willing to do. On the other hand, the overall conflict seems a bit meaningless and low-stakes (stop bad guys from stealing stuff and selling illegal weapons). Yeah yeah, been there done that. There are some coming-of-age depictions of high school life that are poignant though, and a growing revelation that will be relatable for some viewers about a young man who is missing out on some of the greatest moments and memories of childhood in his quest to grow up too fast.

The visuals are pretty great, especially in the last act of the film. Overall, I wouldn't say this film is terribly memorable, but I feel like this would be a really fun film to watch as a teenager. For everyone else, it's probably about what you expect.

Welcome home Spidey.

Sam Raimi and Marc Webb have been the only ones favored in adapting the comics of the amazing Spider-Man to live-action movies, one with more notoriety than the other, but, after all, both managed to be entertaining proposals with their dissimilar varieties. Anyhow, the successes didn't last long, causing the retention of Sony's projects to keep on making popcorn movies. Such time of rehab had an expiration date, exactly, until 2015, the year in which the film studio announced, with presumption, the deal with Stan Lee's production studio for bringing back the carefree hero from Queens, something that amazed both fans and Marvel Studios logical chronology as to the introduction of new characters, who will soon be present in the magnanimous American epopee par excellence, at least we hope that. The first step, Holland signing up, then Watts, later an extravagant number of screenwriters, Keaton as an antagonist, Michael Giacchino usual adding and the predisposed tools by the studio allowed the coming of the first great adventure of Spidey. And we're in luck, since its director takes the overblown mold of summer film away, in order to manufacture a coming-of-age movie portraying the day by day of one of the most well-liked and beloved superheroes of the MCU in a fascinating way.

The script doesn't endure the consequences of the American trend focused on saturating plot construction of screenwriters, here, idea assortment works wonderfully, endowing this origin story with a brand-new, flippant, jovial and even original air; a "Deadpool" for teens. The base argument benefits by omitting info that should already be general culture for any connoisseur of the character, besides the succession of situations as funny as suggestive that will keep you on the edge of your seat, either by struggles or chases, jokes or dramas or, specifically, certain twists that lead to an enthusiastic and novice thriller atmosphere of thriller throughout the third act. The artistic performance of the sequences is on target, not as mega-maniac and grandiloquent as previous studio movies, however, "Homecoming" doesn't appeal to big things, it's a unique and necessary film among so much formality, politics, and honor driven by Captain America and Tony Stark. For the most avid and purist comic-lovers, the change of appearances, both physical and cultural, of some characters could be fateful, a modernization used in order to tie in with the strong egalitarian movement that becomes meaningful in the film world. Zendaya, Laura Harrier or Jacob Batalon provide the best of their characters, even so, they're not a copy of the original characters, With what they will be blessed, both fanatics and spectators, is fidelity to the circumstances of books, each scene is loaded with references and easter-eggs from Marvel's movies and comics, sublime and drama ones as the catharsis final when Peter is trapped under the rubble. These moments accompanied by vigorous and authentic treatment of the main character. When a movie opens by putting in front the villain and not the hero, denotes the commitment of the studio conceiving Keaton's role, creating the most human and realistic villain of its universe, of course along with his stunning performance. Although his first sightings don't enjoy a strong impact, from the middle of the second act, the actor breaks down the screen, in detail, in the final twist.

Visually, "Homecoming" has highlighted points in scenes where tension components prevail, such as that sonorous attenuation when he enters in the prom, the inconvenience in the Washington monument or the boat's breakdown. Accepting indie roots of the director, serene nuance would be obvious, so it's not possible to expect artistic displays at the heights of "Doctor Strange", even the visual dullness of the previous installments by Sony. Likewise, we witness that Giacchino's score doesn't stand out at all, of course, leaving aside the classic and glorious Spider Man theme song in the opening, glorifying the logo of the studio. It's noticeable the most measured pace in action sequences with respect to its competitors, however, CGI cessation, protagonist's gymnastic talent, and grateful set pieces are what makes the movie so special.

Watts rejoins our beloved Spidey into the cinematic panorama, with the help of a motion picture that enjoys the delights of independent and commercial movie simultaneously, delivering magnetic entertainment, placing Marvel's film far above that fabulous film by Sam Raimi and Alfred Molina. Carefree, hilarious and intriguing, Holland's Spider- Man takes very seriously what he is doing, delivering one of the most loyal films to comics, still being spectacular and fun. Sony already has a vast idea catalog for the Spider - Man universe, hopefully, it won't happen again with their plans what occurred a few years ago. Blessed Marvel!

Expand

But it is funny, for the most part. The movie doesn't try to be more than good, and focus on the characters, with plenty of little scenes that make you laugh and don't need to much exposition to serve a gran story.

Because of it simplicity and small scale, we get to see how funny the Spiderman Universe can be under Marvel.

There are problems (the bully cast is INSANE. Not the race, which I don't care, but the actor who makes really hard to believe would ever bully Tom Holland. Couldn't you find an imposing indian? Or put more attention on something that dude had to make Tom Holland being bullied by him at least acceptable?
(Maybe show how incredibly rich he is, and how he basically buys an entourage, and THAT'S why Tom can't do much other than resist).

Anyways. Keaton is having waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun than when he was BAtman....

Michael Keaton makes for a very interesting villain in the role of Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture, it's refreshing to see a lesser known Spider-Man villain other than Doctor Octopus or the Green Goblin. The villain wasn't anything special, infact I didn't find Michael Keaton as a GREAT performance as many people say he was. All in all his portrayal was pretty decent. It wasn't anything that impressed me but it didn't manage to make me hate him either. Tom Holland is believable as Spider-Man, he has the nerdiness and the good quips with him. Spider-Man Homecoming's set pieces are mediocre, sure it had some good action sequences such as the ferry scene. But it wasn't anything remarkably decent. There was no GOOD swinging scenes, NONE, Spider-Man was completely restricted to his neighborhood, and not once did we see him go for a swing around the city. I was very disappointed. The Soundtrack wasn't memorable at all, it was disappointing and by far the worst Spider-Man soundtrack I ever heard, it pains me to know that Spider-Man will never have a great score ever again, as Marvel never does produce any good compositions. I also did not enjoy the fact that Spider-Man received all his gear and was pretty much fed by Tony Stark. However this did add some great story telling to the film, what would happen if he didn't have all of his gear and had to be Spider-Man like how Spider-Man really should be.

Overall:
Spider-Man Homecoming manages to bring some great performances, and a great cast to make the best Spider-Man film in the past 10 years. However the film still struggles to reach the legacy of the original Spider-Man films. A failing soundtrack and disappointing set pieces backs it away from even being the best MCU film let alone being the best Spider-Man film.

Not simply the catching up of a character sold and lost. Today this uptake makes us think that Spiderman is entering the biggest cinematic universe of the world today and that it is not about to stop. Neither too joking nor too intelligent, we are given an innocent young boy to whom he has everything to learn as a spiderman and actor. He is not yet himself, but it is well started, because this role may be his role for a long time.

This movie nails the High School vibe better then any other movie I've ever seen. All while being absolutely hilarious and delivering great action packed scenes. This might be my favorite Spider Man movie to date.

I just wanted to see what the Disney Corporation force-fed the masses in the guise of a Spider-Man film these days. There is a cut every 2-seconds. Rapid-fire, self-satisfied dialogue which only the writers found funny. Headache inducing, muddled, CGI goop all over the screen.

Everything about the film is lightweight. The writing, the direction, the awful editing. I forgot almost everything I saw by the credits.

A decent superhero movie. Sometimes is a bit boring because there's a big focus on Peter social life so it seems almost like a teen movie.

Spiderman webs back into action!

The Film that I am reviewing today is Spider-man: Homecoming the latest Marvel film directed by Jon Watts and I believe that this director has gone above and beyond in creating one of the greatest interpretations of Spider-Man to date.
The basic story of the film is, a few weeks after the Civil War fought between captain america and Iron man, Spider-man is sent home equipped with a new suit ready to protect Queens, (a suburb of New york) from petty crime and to help people whenever is needed, however as peter gets use to his role as the friendly neighbourhood spider-man he grows tired of being a small player in the large world that is Marvel, and thus Spider-man decides to prove that he is worthy of being. An Avenger.
The starring role of Spider-Man (Peter Parker) is held by British actor Tom Holland and his mentor in the Movie Tony Stark or Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr. with other actors playing supporting roles to Tom Holland like Marisa Tomei who plays Spider-Man's Aunt and Jacob Batalon playing the best friend of peter in the Film, however the role of the Main Antagonist is taken by Michael Keaton who plays the Villainous Vulture.
Throughout the movie the production value of the Film is quite outstanding, with the film using great CGI effects for spider-man webbing through the city skyline or the dramatic and effective final duel between Spider-man and the Vulture, meanwhile Tom Holland himself didn’t really use a stunt double, as most stunts were done by the Actor himself.
This story has two types of storytelling conflict within the Story, those being Man vs Self and Man vs Man, with the latter forming as Peter Parker or Spider-Man begins to doubt himself and his abilities and whether he deserves his abilities, Meanwhile Man vs Man comes from Spiderman vs The Vulture as Spider-man has to defeat the Antagonist in order to prove his worth to Iron Man and to extent the Avengers, He also creates a bond with the Villains daughter making Spider-man second guess himself on whether to turn his friend’s father's into the police. Overall this film was made for the fans, the fans that love Spiderman with many references to past Spider-Man adventures and nods to previous Marvel films, but also this movie is perfect for Teens, as spiderman himself while having superpowers still goes through normal day troubles like High School and having a girlfriend. But overall a great film, and thus my rating for the film is a nice 9/10.

The high-school scenes are gold with all the little quirks of school adding for very humerous moments, esepecially Betty Brandt's videos appearing on screens in the school. Michael Keaton's Vulture is a real step up in MCU villains who gives an authoritative and relatable perfomance with a real golden scene with himself and Tom Holland in the car. The action is a little unspectacular, it seems like we've seen it all before and Spidey seems a bit too overpowered. The John Hughes style of the film absolutely shines though. Expand

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie exceeded my expectations as a remake! Tom Holland did an awesome job as the new Marvel Spiderman, and I like how it is incorporated with the Avengers and Iron Man. Michael Keaton was also a great pick for his part as the Vulture. I was skeptical about a remake at first because remakes can be tricky to perfect, but Spiderman Homecoming was awesome and I hope Spiderman is in future Marvel movies as a guest character as well. Great movie by Marvel. Expand

The Good: I really enjoyed a younger peter parker. We got to explore the life of a unpopular, smart, and dorky high school kid that was gifted with incredible abilities and we get to see those abilities blossom and his character transform into the spiderman that we all know and love. Tom Holland did a great job playing peter parker and spiderman. They freshened up the story this time too. They didn't drag us through the spider bite or uncle Ben story thankfully, they focused solely on peters transformation into a hero. Michael Keaton was amazing as vulture. They really fleshed out his character and you even understood his plight and felt for him at times. Anyone in his situation might have made similar choices. The culture suit looked great and the fight scenes are really fun to watch and kept you guessing. My only real problem that I saw with this rendition of spiderman is that even though I think the suit being all "teched" out was a really cool idea, I felt like it overshadowed his powers a bit. I saw this movie twice in theatres and will be buying it on Blu-ray. Definitely a must see. Expand

For me, however, as someone who didn't like the previous Spider-Man movies, it is better in comparison, but it feels like something is missing. It's the typical hero vs. villain story, but thankfully, without the strong romantic part from the previous movies. The villain's story is predictable and Zendaya's character is underused (which might be a good thing), probably just to have her introduced for future movies.

On the other hand, Tom Holland is amazing in it. Easily, the best Spider-Man ever. Michael Keaton is great, considering the fact that he's playing the usual type of villain.

The problem, however, is that congestion is discovered too. No, that good suit is taken by a ninja named Chinta, and at the end it is not very ... I do not get words, but I am very satisfied as a Spiderman. In the beginning, "Spider-Man is nice. It's just going to the teen?" But! It was wrong. In the second half, when I was deprived of a suit and collapsed into a building, it was very good to wake up in despair. Our hero is not just saying that he is capable but also that we need growth.

Tom portraid Peter perfectly, while the Vulture is not my fav villan of him, he made a very great job. The movie itself is hilarious and it does not feel forced, something that in my perspective is a big problem with most of the Marvel movies, this one is funny because it is for itself, natully. We see Peter evolve and grow as a complex hero, and the film leave us hunger for more, the most important after all is that after 2 reboots, this film feels fresh and new, i really hope this is the beginning of something bigger!
